@@manuelgm no he evolved Feebas with Pokéblocks to make it a Milotic. You need a DEEPSEASCALE or DEEPSEATOOTH then make a Clamperl hold it, then trade it. It will become either Huntail or Gorebyss

A little advice: instead of walking you can use the jump bike to provoke encounters. Hold b when on a grass patch, and eventually a Pokemon will appear. This is great to avoid wasting steps in the Safari or when under repel.

@@karldavid3661 shiny pokemon are just alternate coloured Pokémon than what they normally are, they're EXTREMELY rare in these older games, I think it's a 1/8000-ish chance, don't remember the exact number, but it's around there, so it would have been super sad if he ended up not being able to have the shiny one if it ended up that way.

Not really, just keep the shiny, trade it away to another gen 3 game like Firered and keep it there, and start the challenge again. I'd assume most time he invested was into researching and documenting. Not actually playing

I don't think most of us as kids used X items or status moves. Plus no one told us that raising a stat by one stage in-game was a 50% increase. (Using Swords Dance, Calm Mind, and Dragon Dance definitely seems more worth it as an adult now.(

This made me remember my whismur toy. A simple no articulation lump of plastic but he was so shiny and pleasant to the touch. Love that guy.

@@dropthebeats6229 as a teen i remember how hard it was to catch a feebas!! My patience was running out lol that was back in 2008. I ended up catching it though and getting the johto starter from prof birch. I then transferred that johto starter to my ruby version from emerald and i ended up catching every pokemon again until i got chikorita, i then restarted the game and transferred chikorita and went to catch them again. Ended up with all 3 johto starters 😁😁. Last week though i found my emerald version and deleted the file there to start again 😂

Why are the starters not corresponding to the colors of the games. this triggers me.

I found Feebas entirely on accident on my first playthrough. And Milotic is one of my favorite Pokemon now

Plusle and Minun aren’t actually version exclusives. Minun has a lower encounter rate in Sapphire and Plusle has a lower encounter rate in Ruby.

I remember trying for like 2 days strait, one of the last I needed

This series inspired me to try out this challenge on my own in Pokemon X, and I did not realise how deep that rabbit hole went until it was too late. Before the second badge almost half of the pokedex is available, so many lvl 40+ evolutions, even a couple at lvl 50. Exp share and the Battle Chateau helps but still really tedious. Also the Zigzagoon strategy you used here is still viable in X and Y, saves you a lot of money on super potions and great and ultra balls. I always put this playlist on while I'm grinding in X, love your stuff!

I just caught Feebas for the first time yesterday and it only took me something like five to ten minutes. But I had previously tried for hours and eventually rage quit. It actually took me a few years to work up the courage to make a second attempt. I fully expected to end up giving up again but somehow got really lucky.

Couple of tips: when catching skitty, you want to use the repel trick with a level 8 pokemon in the front of your party, makes it so much faster to find. You can also get onto the acro bike when doing the repel trick for latias/latios to save on buying repels. I believe it is also faster since you don't need to open the bag all the time - but It took me forever so it might actually be slower. Awesome video, must have taken ages to make considering you did 6 attempts just to get 3 runs. Would love to see this as an actual speedrun, with more optimal routing and better luck

These videos are so satisfying to watch. Seeing a full roadmap for every catch from start to finish is incredible, that must've taken so damn long to do!

I really like imagining this as three different trainers all racing to fill out their Pokedexes first. Your referring to Ruby, Saphire, and Emerald in the third person makes this 10x easier

hi Johnstone! I really like your series :) i just have one small tip/complain: I am not from UK/USA but from Germany. Therefore, the Pokemons I know have different names than yours. It would help me (and maybe also others) if you would cut the clips in which you catch a Pokemon in a way that you show the picture/look of the Pokemon instead only the catched Pokeball. I know that you do this sometimes in the video, but only sometimes. For other Pokemons you just name them and show the Pokeball. I hope it is understandable what I want to suggest. Besides this, I really enjoy your videos. Great work. Please keep going/doing!

@@MrStarguy hahahahahahahaha you forget about 1% tree munchlax that can only appear on 4 out of 16 trees and its random every playthrough edit considering it takes 6 hours per try it can easily take over a month to encounter it the only easy way to get it is to get a snorlax from frlg or hgss

So when I first played Sapphire, I forgot to grab the Master Ball. Seeing as once you leave the base you cannever go back, I was screwed. Kyogre was absolute HELL to capture, I envy your Groudon battle.... Edit: I adore your added commentary

Pancake Slice yeah i mean the master ball should really be used on rayquaza since he is WAY more powerful than groudon or kyogre or on latios or latias as they are extremely rare encounters. Just save in front of it with 50 ultra balls and try until you or it dies or until you catch it, otherwise reset and start over. Paralyzing it, putting it to sleep, even poisoning it (although you have to careful you dont KO it with poisoning) all help of course

they make it hard to find the master ball, it's just in a random warp zone room at Team Aqua's base, very easy to miss

I love how easy it is to catch poochyena in this game... I could catch 100 of them in idk, an hour or so?? It took me AGES to get the poochyena swarm on SoulSilver, when I finally did I caught like 90 lol. On pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky, so far I've recruited 76, and that took SO LONG. You can't just CATCH pokemon in mystery dungeon, you gotta defeat them and HOPE they ask to join your team, which is random. Also poochyena is sooooooooo hard to find, they are in 3 dungeons, only 3, and ridiculously rare to encounter. I'm a dedicated poochyena fan

This was in my recommended videos and I am not dissatisfied!! Coincidentally, a coworker and I were talking about Pokémon today and about how I want to play them from Gen 1 to Now collecting them all! If I had the voice to stream or record I would love to share it with everyone but... I don’t think that will happen. Besides my spill, this video is great and I can’t wait for the upcoming vids!
