NEVER leave your bow behind! Stick an arrow in the dirt if you have to.

Once I got a good map system like OnX, It occurred to me to download the best detailed maps I can. If I have a blood trail I drop way points on the blood drops. That way, not only do I have a nice line (like when you use the toilet paper trick), but I can use The map to zoom in on his likely path. Like if the blood trail hooks in a 1/2 circle, then lines out straight across the hillside and points directly toward an aspen.patch, if I lose blood.I'm going to go look in that aspen patch.

I would subscribe to your channel if you didn't use vulgar language but I don't watch elk hunting videos to listen to that kind of trash.

Wow. So frustrating. Can't believe the elk were bugling like that with so many hunters in the area. Up here (Canada) in high pressure areas.. bills are usually very call shy.

You two are truely blessed to be able to share the archery passion together. Most of us have wives that would maybe shoot a bow but want nothing to do with killing an animal lol

Arse...I've never been so anxious to see someone get their shot... Here in the UK I shoot around 300-350 deer a year, slowed down a bit now I'm in my 50's. I know things are different there so this is just doing me in watching. Just seen the 2023 thumbnail so here I go! All the best from the UK

Don’t ask, don’t tell. I don’t like to be asked. If you spill your guts, then you have the chance of keeping those guys around and if they have buddies elsewhere, they may call them over too. Everybody needs to earn their experience in the elk woods, no freebies. I work too hard for what little comes around. ….my .02 cents

Your comment at 22:20 was you didn't want to bump him. That's all you have done since the get go. As soon as you suspected a liver hit, shoulda stopped and waited 4 hours. Bull would be dead or damn near dead in his first bed. Easy for me to say after watching, but if there is any indication of a less then good hit, wait.
