6-point HERD BULL in CLOSE! | Archery Elk 2020

Yes! We got a second with the herd we were after yesterday in the SAME spot. We took what we learned, switched some things up, and it worked to get us in to a big bull bugling at us from close range in the timber. It is encounters like this that we live for and sometimes these opportunities only come after days of trial and error. We really felt like the experiences earlier in the week leading up this are what allowed us to make some key decisions that helped get close.
We love archery hunting for elk and spending time hiking through the woods looking for them, listening for them, taking woods naps, and eating snacks along the way. It was a heck of a day and we are super thankful for these experiences. Enjoy a big bull and some bugles!
Thanks for watching!

Don’t ask, don’t tell. I don’t like to be asked. If you spill your guts, then you have the chance of keeping those guys around and if they have buddies elsewhere, they may call them over too. Everybody needs to earn their experience in the elk woods, no freebies. I work too hard for what little comes around. ….my .02 cents

Great stuff 👍...excited to see the rest of the story. I’m usually pretty tight lipped. And I don’t ask others because I don’t like being asked. I always think it’s funny that the hunters I run into always mention how many hunters they have called in but none of them admit to being the ones called in.

I’m always honest I’ve been fortunate enough in my life and don’t mind fellow hunters sharing success. There’s always another bull around the bend to be chased.

I’ve asked and been asked. I don’t mind throwing out a few tips and or general area that might help. Especially when it something like a cow tag and it’s a big unit with lots of cows. I look at it like I’m helping someone feed their family. With that being said you won’t get a grid coordinate from me.

I'll tell them, yes I've seen some, but if they ask where I'll say really. That raspy elk call, I think that's what spooked them. But another great video. Good luck on the next one 👍

No doubt about it, first rule to teach new hunters if they encounter anyone who is not hunting in your group. Basically, be cordial, but there is no reason to give up all of your hard work to somebody who just happens to show up where you’re hunting. Unless you have filled your tag(s) and feel compelled to help out someone who may be deserving of your help, your intel about your area should stay locked away !!!

Oh hell no i don’t tell them. I never ask - its disrespectful. I change the subject with humor, show concern for them but tell f...g nothing. Why? If you have to ask a stranger you don’t know where elk are your hunting and survival skills are in question. I could tell ya and you’d still screw it up. Another point: I spend months scouting with my spotting scope. This cost a ton of time and money- so you think sone how i am obligated to give you expensive information. Oh hell no, i am expensive and not for sale. I think yall pulled a shot string with your question. Another answer i give is to tell them there is elk in some direction so they chase them where i want them to go.
