FINALLY Another BULL! | Archery Elk 2020
Спорт
We started to see the effects of the Western fires as smoke drifted into the area. It made glassing a challenge and even made it difficult to breath comfortably in certain areas where the smoke was thick. It's hard to know what the elk will do in these types of conditions, so we just did what we always do and moved around to try and find them.
After a dry couple of days, we finally found another bull and he happened to have one of the coolest, deepest bugles we've heard. It was a blast getting to get after him in the timber and trying to make something happen in the last two days of our mid-September elk hunt.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks, Rayviv! There is something painfully satisfying about feeling like you're earning those opportunities. -J
Never give up keep going elk hunting is endless hours/days of sheer boredom followed by minutes of sheer excitement and a memories that will last a life time.

For sure. That's what I used to say about being a cop when I was pushing a patrol car, ha. I prefer elk hunting! 🤘 -J
Archery hunting definitely plays those mind games on a person...great job producing content and sharing it 👍

Watching you guys improvise and concor is entertaining as well as a learning experience..keep up the good work..
I’m super surprised I didn’t run into you guys along the way. What a great video and I feel your pain. I hunted hard the last 2 years and passed small bulls hoping for big boys and failed. Best of luck this year and I hope to bump into you guys in either of the 2 mountain ranges I recognized in your Oregon series.
Staying positive is hard to do when the elk don’t talk and you work so hard to find them and the BAM there’s a bull standing 20 yards in front of the arrow! Many times the frustration is worth the wait!!
I wish I could help you find some elk. I really enjoy y’all videos. I learned over years. If I can glass or sit where I know elk come by. I see more elk than walking. I ve walk by more elk not knowing they where there , and left elk that was there just because I didn’t see one that day. Keep after them guys. I love y’all attitude toward elk hunting.

You're right. Glassing has been the most productive for us and we did a lot of that on our Idaho trip, which we'll start sharing next week. After a short hiccup, we saw elk every day after. Thanks for watching and sharing good words. -J
I feel your pain, it was a brutal 2020 bow season, Smoke, hot, full moon, the elk were not vocal at all. It was the toughest bow season I've seen for sure and I spent a total of 24 days in it.

Congrats on making 24 days in the field happen. I'm sure a lot of work went into that! We've heard what you're saying... seems more difficulty across the board than most years. -J
Awesome video guys!! Definitely a grind getting after them elk!! Love the videos

I stumbled onto your videos last year, excited to see you have more content this year. The grind is real, still waiting to get my first elk in Washington. Had some opportunities that turned into hard lessons. All worth it🤠

It was a tough year with the smoke and weather but seems like a constant lately in Oregon. We were lucky enough to have multiple encounter tho and got one on the ground. Looking forward to more videos!

It seems to me that the seasons over the last few years have been shifting. Snow coming a month later, rut starting a month later, spring takes another month to fire up. Weird, but it's been more and more consistently in line with that theory. Let me know if you agree.

Is there a rut in Oregon?! ;) It’s been so hit and miss for us (mostly miss), it’s hard to tell.
Don't beat yourself up bro you guy's are doing a fantastic job. I enjoy your videos very much . I have a couple of secrets on locating that may help you.

I love watching. No matter you get something or not I enjoy it. Your wife by the way is Absolutely Gorgeous.
I really think the smoke effected the elk through out the west this year.

Just a random water bottle holder I found on Amazon and it works great for that small tube. Here's a link to it - amzn.to/2ZzrCRJ
If your hoping for lots of encounters and success for elk in Oregon on public land you can forget it. Look at the success rates and that includes the few good units. Remember Oregon does not manage for quality hunts. You have the skills, get a good quality tag out of state (and those are getting harder to come by) and have better fun!

Valid points. I check the data and you're right, I'm just too stubborn sometimes. That week did it for me, though. More time out of state is coming...

@@muddywallowpersonally I would rather hunt every 2 or 3 years and have a good chance at something, than hunt every year. There are a lot of OR hunters that would disagree, look at the ruckus when ODFW proposed archery draw on the east side lol I have had the good fortune of a few good draw tags and believe me it is another world. Don't get me wrong, if I can't draw and don't have anything on the schedule the east side archery elk is always on the table!
There’s already too many people in the woods
