After finding elk last night, we woke up confident we'd have elk to go after today. And it didn't take long for us to start finding them... everywhere! From our glassing spot, we located elk in front of us and on both sides of us. None of them were super close, but it gave us options. We also saw a few moose, which is always fun and has has been associated with good luck in the past.
But all of that wasn't even the best part. While deciding which elk we were going to go after, Alicia heard a bugle behind us. We threw our binos and spotter in that direction, and saw a big herd of elk rutting on a hillside only a half-mile away. We skipped breakfast, hurried over there, and picked our way to within 30 yards of the herd in perfect position to make it happen! We hope you enjoy.
