I appreciate that they actually broke down the benefits of heavy and light arrows. There’s so much division in the hunting community about this right now. I look at arrows like hand loads with rifles. What am I trying to accomplish and what am I hunting, then build an arrow to suit that goal.

Michael,we met at Harrys in Bordentown around 2005 or 06, I was there with friends and you and I were talking hunting laughing and joking around and my friends were talking me up and mention that my shotgun had a name “Big Bone” and you asked why I name it that and I suggested that if you ever got your your own show that you ought to name it Bone Collector, and you did and much more, I have been following your success over the years and like to thing you remembered the fun conversation we had that evening and how proud I am of all your success, keep on keeping on brother!

Man, T Bone, I have nothing but mad respect for you . I don't know if you remember me , but we somewhat competed as archery techs . Our shops were about 80 miles apart, and you know w archery shops, that's in the same neighborhood , lol. I came over to your 3D range a couple times and competed back 20+ years ago. Shot pretty good at the first one and wound up winning it. I called you and asked about results because we headed on back to the house before it was over . You informed me that i had won and we said we would figure out how I'd get my winnings at some point. Wasn't much money , but a few dollars. Turned out it was over a year before I made it back over to your shoot ( we had 5 active clubs, so I shot closer to home usually ). I showed up and just said my name. You reached under the counter and handed me an envelope . It meant the world to me that you remembered . Your just a class act, brother , and I hope by now they have that peg figured out ! God Bless

I bought my Hoyt torrex (31 inch) last fall as my very first bow and i love it. Definitely expect to buy a flagship later on in another year or two. Went to a target archery shop recently and wanted to get a proper target bow set up. They only carry PSE and I am a left handed, so they got to put in a work order. They are ordering me a PSE Lazer (37 inch) I don't have any brand loyalty, i just love the bow that shoots good, but I would be lying if my expectations were not super high because of how my Torrex shoots. Amazing podcast and T-Bone has a great archery mind. I need to listen to him more often because what he is talking about with ego...i see it a lot in the short time i have been shooting. Overloading on poundage or "its my bow, its not me" . (someone not shooting good and they are convinced the bow is faulty). Thankfully for folks like T-bone, George Ryals and Joel Turner and so many others sharing their wealth of knowledge, it's helped keep me so much as I learn this amazing sport.

Could not agree more! Love ranch fairy, but he sets up for 17 yard and under shots. For most of us in a tree we want to shoot to 40. That 500 grain and/or high teens in foc is perfect for whitetail. Now the broad head confo I have a differing opinion. Cause I hunt all year for maybe one opportunity. It may be a quartering to shot at 25 yards. I can’t take that with the expandable. I am and will take it with fixed/single beveled head. That said I don’t hate on anyone for shooting what they want. Do you! My issue with the expandable is on rib cage shots not getting pass thrus at 25 yards with 29 inch draw and shooting 70lb.

I shot a Pro Hunter 400 for years, way too weak spine for my Halon 32. The kinetic Pierce Platinum 300 I shoot now has me shooting groups I never thought I could achieve. My local bow guy was steering me wrong for years. Once I took tuning my bow and arrows into my own hands I cannot believe the difference from my old setups. Videos like this are so helpful to the community.

Thats fair arrow talk. I shoot 670 grains because it flies great out of my bow and I want to lol. I catch alot of hell for shooting that heavy but I don't care. Great conversation. I can absolutely relate to the comment regarding a moose at 20 yards and all your pins on the vitals. Years ago I was fortunate enough to take two Bison, the first shot at 25 yards I settled the pin on the vitals and laughed to myself " I can't miss" ....All my pins were on the vitals.

That was a pretty good podcast. Touched on some things without touching on some things. There's a few things that I've noticed about many podcasts that I've watched and tv/youtube shows I've watched. First thing I'll bring up is when Michael said that even though a blade may break off... there's 2 more going in. In MY opinion that is not a very good thought to have. As archers, we should want our broadhead(whichever) to STAY TOGETHER! That is what kills the animal. They deserve that from us. Broadheads have become so CHEAP that most of them(even though 60%of the time they work 100%of the time), we shouldn't be using. Like T-Bone says, take what Dr. Ashby has discovered about penetration and use it in your setup, the best you can. There is so many broadheads that are NOT sharp out of the package. We are trying to make an animal bleed to death. Our broadheads should be a SHARP as possible! Then a lot of broadheads, you can get sharp...... but they don't stay that way when they are violently thrust through an animal. Look at your blades after you shoot an animal. They we be bent, dinged or broke. Then there's been this HUGE push to use these HUGE cut expandables. They work great and they also fail. The manufacturer will put on their website... this broadhead takes this amount of force to open. Most guys don't even know how much force their bow generates. Then they use a HUGE head and get barely any penetration. As an example(not directly at y'all) watch the TV "professionals". Over the past how many years, a lot of people have noticed that their arrows barely get into the deer and they yell, "Smoked'em"! They didn't even get an exit hole. How is that "smoking them"? A lot of guys should try get a close to perfect arrow flight as possible but they can't get that all done at home. They need to go to a Pro Shop. I've been in many shops over the last 30yrs and there is one thing that they all have. If you aren't their buddy.... their pushing you through the store. Your bow is close enough, go hunt. Yet! Their buddies bows are driving tacks. Why isn't that everyone's now that goes through their shop, drives tacks? I used to follow and watch so many outdoor TV shows because when I grew up, they were teaching you something. Then it became this who's who and if you don't shoot what I do..... you're less then a hunter then me. I've stepped away from the TV industry and all my magazine subscriptions. Watch a lot of different youtube channels. You can find what you like and it's from someone who is trying to help. Not from someone that is PUSHING product. I used the marketing and making a living doing it but like me. I know a lot of guys that can't stand what the outdoor industry has become. Most people don't own a 900 acre farm that they can manage. We get very few weekends in the woods. I'll stop this ramble with this...... EVERYONE SHOULD WORK TO BRING ALL HUNTERS TOGETHER!!!! GOD BLESS AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Great to see you back, with a awesome attitude I have enjoyed your videos and tutorials on setting equipment. On the positive side you won’t need snake proof boots.

You guys are great 👍😎 people,God bless your family's!! I always said I'll take accuracy over speed any day!! My buddy's disagree because of misjudged yardage, and I always go back to knowing you're equipment and how it performs at different yardage,!!! Practice practice practice!!!!

Thanks David! We're blessed to have a platform. There's a lot of misconceptions when it comes to people that have had success. We keep it real and love everything about hunting.
