i feel like when i switch to my epoxy for the summer days i cant get low & dig my rail as much on my bottom turns because it floats more & i feel like i'll slide out. if that a general epoxy issue or do i need to not rely on my fins as much?

Amazing surfing in El Salvador. I'm from Snapper escaping Winter and over here it is one of the most consistent waves I've experienced, warm water year round and the locals are the best. It reminds me a bit of Burleigh Heads and also Chunggu in Bali about 10 years ago. So greatful to experience this amazing world we live in. Wishing you all the best🌊🌴🌺

❤ its an old video, but i still like watching / reviewing them. it would be so fun to offer to video you, which might allow me to get to tag along with you, but honestly, despite having studied art (including film and made 'A' grades in art on honor roll) at cuesta college and monterey peninsula collegeh , and been in a film class program at a notable eurnopean art academy, i have the absolute worst luck with filming, ESPECIALLY surf videos. i cant even tell you how many times i would go surfing with my step brother and friends, and be 'filming' on the beach, only to have everyone excited to get to see their rides of the session, only to have the video footage (i kid you not), be the total opposite of what was intended, i have no idea how the recording button pushes got reversed, whereby the video would record everything before the wave and once the surfer is paddling for a wave, would cut out, and then the video would pick back up just at the end of their ride as they are either pulling out of the wave, or in front of the foam after an unseen maneuver (that they really would have liked to have seen secured on video). and i am talking entire sessions of this :) multiple times :)) and on many occasions that it seems legit problematic :) so embarrassing :) This is not much different from despite the fact that i studied and have finished certification at the university of washington extension audio production program, countless occasions where i would cue the blinking record button of the audio recorder or computer daw, in preparation of recording my live ambient guitar / drone / noise works, only to finish what i felt was a 'great' performance, only to look over and see the blinking light and realize i forgot to press , or, thought i pressed the button to start recording but somehow something went wrong record to start recording :) countless occasions. so sad :) or, for me to be certain that i pressed record to record the audio track, only to have some malfunction. the only recordings i have had indisputable success with, was reel to reel audio tape recorders, (or old cassette multitracks), where i could see the tape reeling, and see my channel signal on the audio meter, with certainty that i was recording the take :) and even as recent as this year, i had the reverse video dilemma on my phone when recording video of panning the empty beach and waves. it honestly feels like sabotage because its not that difficult to press a button and confirm that something is recording (i am convinced its sabotage somehow, but whatever the case, i can not be trusted to video :) maybe i could help make some original new wave / post punk / alternative style soundtracks or something in the post production phase, or maybe me and steph steph can start a band and do surf vid soundtracks, and maybe i am supposed to be the so called 'talent' on camera, 'ripping' knee boarding, and doing musical jam performances :) or maybe just stand off to the side / lounge / etc and encourage others with compliments and 'constructive' criticism :) its probably just as well anyway, because i am in pain and need flexibility to rest when needed and that does not necessarily adhere to needed schedules.

❤ 5 or so months later since my last comment, (so the youtube comments section tells me, and assuming that can be trusted), and i still believe that it would be so amazing to get to relax quietly and listen during such a britt / lakey board talk meeting (maybe in the same hammock in the upper corner, like lounging, or even maybe a chair or stool in the corner so that i could quietly get up and stand at the opposite end of the board that they are, remaining quiet, silent in fact, but nodding with either approval, agreement, disagreement, disapproval, gestures of assured revelation, knowledge, and or insights gained (such as 'huh, i did not know that' type nods, and other basic staying out of the way, but being as present and participating in the conversation as unnecessarily possible while giving an impression that i am not even there :) and maybe, at the end of the visit, getting to take one or two reject / testers, or a quick dive through the dumpster out back to see if i could walk out of these with a lil something something to try myself, but not really give feedback and basically be happy, quiet, and thankful, and of course, stoked :)

Lakey, honestly I can’t stand the surf comps. I think it reduces such a beautiful activity down to a soulless and brutally subjective money maker honestly. I’ve seen another comment on here and I echo exactly the same thing, I would love to see you make a surf movie of your travels and just having fun and showing us all how good the Surff life really is rather than the stereo version which these comps want so much. You’re a sick surfer, always love your videos. God bless 🙏

Dump the tour, see if you can get the sponsors to send you on a style trip to film a video part and just have fun and work on your own style, rather than try to surf to get the judges to give you the points you need. They obviously want something that you’re not giving them, so F’um. You were surfing well and they weren’t feeling it, and at this point it sorta feels like what they want from you is just bringing you down and forcing you to put your surfing into their box. Go ride some alternative boards, stack some clips and good times, screw them. You’d probably make more progress going on some epic trips with the hubby and just forgetting about everything else.

The tour is for sure hard and I agree about the judging veering away from speed and style in their criteria. In saying that I didn’t show my full potential this year in heats so definitely wanting to come back next year. Me and hubby are actually locking in a few cool trips right now. And you’re spot on!!! I’ve been all over the alternative boards lately 👌✌🏻
