We are a couple of hiking and wild camping amateurs who decided to document our trips out and review gear.
My partner, Kat, has anxiety, so getting out together and enjoying nature is incredibly important for our mental heath and general wellbeing. If our videos inspires just one person to get out among nature then it would be worth it for us.
I, Ceri, have done many challenges for charity, National, Welsh and Yorkshire 3 peaks, and have big plans for more in 2022. We would also like to take part in more long distance walking trails.

I believe the valley before the main ascent was used in 'Carry On Up The Keiber'. Matrronnn! 😮
Thank you for respecting the Welsh language in your title. Much appreciated! Kerry's determination in the face of limitation is something else. Dal ati, Kerry bach! Da iawn! Keep on, friend Kerry! Well done!
hi where di you put the kayak in the water?
@DocumentingReality-ol9es good evening , it does show if you watch the video, off the steps in front of the hotel 👍❤️🫖🏴
@@TeaInValhalla many thanks. I take it the current was reasonable and not too risky?
@@DocumentingReality-ol9es not a huge window, with the tide times and strong current, needs to be timed well ❤️👍🫖🏴
This was my ancestors place. My great grandmother's family line ❤
@eliphasdow2139 that is incredible, wow! Thanks for sharing this with us, have a great week, Ceri and Kat ❤️🫖👍
Thank you very much, this is a very nice video. Kind regards, Nicole and Holger.
@kampfstern7119 appreciate your comment and support, thank you Nicole and Holger. Have a great week ahead, Ceri and Kat ❤️🫖🌄💪💙
Just found this video. My hubby was born at Moat House farm, the one opposite St Cuthberts Church in 1946. The family migrated to Africa in 1949. My father in law, together with his parents and grandparents are buried in the church yard. Something to show the grandchildren
@elisepakeman1352 Awww, that is lovely! Thank you. I hope the grandchildren enjoy the video. Have a great weekend ,Ceri and Kat 🫖❤️👍
They are actually volcanoes. That have been still for years and years. Will never erupt.
Great video as always. My Partner and I shall be climbing this path in late July. Thank you for the video. Would Love to meet you both some day. You're a great couple 🙂
@markchristopher8515 that's so sweet, thank you for your kind words! We hope you enjoy the hike and route, the Glyders are excellent! Keep your peepers peeled, we met a video watcher just the other week on a random encounter! Take care, Ceri and Kat ❤️🏴🫖👍
@@TeaInValhalla Thank you. If we met then I'm buying Lunch. We have walked the lower lake walk around four times now but no further.
@markchristopher8515 we are a cheap date, tea and biscuits will see us happy! The Lake is stunning, let us know how the Glyders treat you ❤️
@@TeaInValhalla Will do. I live just under 200 miles away from my partner and work so many hours. To get away to the mountains when we can Profoundly Changes our lives each time. Seriously Let's meet up some time I mean it. Please! It would be an Honour. Look after each other and keep doing the Great work that you both do So Very Well. Kind Regards From Mark
My first mountain brought back some lovely memories thank you ❤️🙏🙏
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Kats' parents used to climb this wonderful mountain too 🫖🏴❤️👍
It's a lovely area with so much variety, and nice and quiet too, I'm a local fell runner and it's my main stomping ground, beautifully shot video, Drum is pronounced Drim and here's a little known fun fact for you, the trig point on Foel Fras isn't on the summit, I don't know why not but the actual summit is 70m away from the trig point, I've tried to find out if it was just a simple mistake but I've never found an answer, the summit of Drum was also a secret experimental radar station in WWII called Blue Joker, that's why there's a really wide and drivable path running down from it all the way to Aber so the army trucks could drive all the way to the summit.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comment. I hope you enjoyed the video. Have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat 🫖❤️👍
Loved this .. planning to do this very soon. Thanks for sharing 🥾
Thank you, have fun, and enjoy the hike! It s a beauty, Ceri and Kat ❤️🏴🫖👍
Where'd you go guys? We've only just discovered your channel and we are loving it!
Belive it or not, we are in Portmeirion as I type this message! Sadly life has been a bit hectic this past 18months, hopefully have a new video soon, spoiler alert a Port-meri-vlog! Thanks for your kind words, glad you are enjoying the channel, Ceri and Kat ❤️🏴☕️👍🫖
@@TeaInValhalla As long as you are both well! We look forward to more video's in the future (no pressure). Take care of yourselves ♥
@BackpacksNSnacks we are very well thank you, the weather has been incredible this week! We even got Bill and Kath to Snowdon summit! We hiked, they took the train, its been incredible ♥️♥️
14:55 Did you just fart as you reached the ridge? 😅
Hahahhaah maybe! An excited fart, is the best kind of fart! ❤️☕️👍🫖🏴
@@TeaInValhalla Twat an apt outburst. Great video. The fart was the best bit. 😆
Considering this video is two years old this is somewhat a late reply! However with reference to your question on hiking apps I'm now using OS Maps for plotting routes etc. Not free but I think worth it for 34.99 a year. I put the routes into a gps device that works very well alongside paper maps... Another great video and yet another mountain I haven't heard of !
Thank you for sharing this day
Thank you for your support, appreciate your feedback, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat ☕️👍❤️🫖
Well done guys !
Thanks Piotru, have a great week ahead, Ceri and Kat ❤️🛶☕️
I was up there last week on the old steel bridge....far as I went to see the lake.....at 71 I know my limit.....was not the best of days but what the heck. Gread video guys.
Sounds great Nick, out is out, don't always have to be up high to enjoy the beauty and wilds. Appreciate your support and feedback, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat ❤️🛶☕️
Yet again another great video guys ! This is a mountain I've never heard of I admit - but looks amazing. Again great informative narrative and excellent comments concerning your own personal walking preferences- no ego in there at all which is really good to see. Also very true about the outdoors community - most people ( although sadly not all ) are more than willing to help and assist - keep em coming guys - very sensible and well documented videos .
Thank you Andrew, appreciate your comments and kind feedback. Hope you are well, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat ❤️🛶☕️
Great video guys, thank you 🙏🏼🫶🏻
Thank you, have a great week, Ceri and Kat ☕️❤️🛶
Stayed in the room Hercules in 2008 brilliant also 2 nights in terrace house near the swimming pool and hotel love the place❤
Oooh interesting, we often wonder about the other buildings and want to try more in the future! We are back up in Portmeirion next week and can't wait! The pool is calling . Appreciate your support and feedback, Ceri and Kat ❤️👍🛶🏴
@@TeaInValhalla the rooms in the terrace are called fountain suites I think. The one near Hercules was called Neptune not Hercules they were all lovely for a couple. We are back in September this year for 2 nights for 30th wedding anniversary it’s a long trip back from Brisbane but we can’t wait ❤️
Red pike: the only summit from which you can see five lakes. On a clear day the Isle of Man is visible. My first visit to Buttermere from Wasdale via Scarth Gap was in 1969. Second was 1974 when I discovered the pleasure of the original Croft Farm coffee shop. Now, every walk I do around the Buttermere fells, I try to be sure to finish I time for latte, a snack and an ice cream in the same, extended, coffee shop.
That's actually a nice video ❤
An oldie, but Goldie! Thnx for sharing, just looked for the gpx for this summer👌🏻👍🏻🥾
Thanks, Runnerroy. we did this exact route again in March, with snow. It was glorious! There is a newly installed Llyn near the end forest too! Have a great one, thanks for the support, Ceri and Kat ❤️☕️🤜🤛
@@TeaInValhalla O, wow! Must have been fantastic in snow. Do you have footage of that hike? Looking forward to hike this one, we have a lot of hikes on our list as seen on your vids😊😉👌🏻👍🏻Regards from the Netherlands, Roy👋🏻🥰
@runnerroy8201 we did record it. I made a little video for Kat...it was also her birthday, the conditions were perfect too, we actually had veiws this time! Are you on Instagram? Drop us a message if so, and I'll send over some photos. Who knows? One day, maybe the video will go live ! Catch you soon, Ceri and Kat ☕️❤️🛶
@@TeaInValhalla Hi Ceri and Kat, I think I have Instagram, but don't use it, and never looked at it. FB is all I have and use 🤭😊😉. Hope the vid will come online somehow 👌🏻👍🏻 Please let me know when it does. Regards, have a nice evening👋🏻🥱😴🥾
Love your videos. Such a shame you don’t post anymore. Hope you are still hiking and loving it.❤
Hello Raven, thanks so much for the lovely comment. Yes we are still very much enjoying our Greenspaces, sadly due to work and life commitments not finding the time to turn them into videos. Maybe oneday we shall return to the silver screen!hope you are well and have a great week ahead, Ceri and Kat 🛶♥️❤️☕️
Great video! Dodd is not a wainwright.
Absolutely great video - very informative. I especially liked the comment about this being an introduction to scrambling as too many people opt for more dangerous routes as a "first time " experience - very sensible comment ...

Great video
We are off to Anglesey in a couple of weeks, basing ourselves in Beaumaris for a week so we will definitely make a special trip to Llyn Geirionydd while there for a few hours paddling in our Itiwit X100 kayak. Hope it isn't quite so wet when we are there though. Have to admire your determination. Well done.
Well done for respecting local mountain names . You know which one I mean ...the big boy
It's Sha-bod....
Diolch yn fawr 🏴❤️👍
Llyn y Foel aka Llyn y Llygad yr Ych and the ‘monster’ was called Afanc and ‘taken’ from Betws y Coed to Glaslyn below Yr Wyddfa. By the way afanc is a beaver in modern Welsh
Well now. Shall we start in the middle of this wondrous venture thru and round the Tor to Glastonbury....this time with the most authentic, heart-centered guides you could wish for. Cheers u2. From Savannah, Ga, usa aka Across the Pond. Yes, the 'lizard' below St. George would be a smaller scaled version of that very same 'Dragon' (kundalini) he either slayed or sacrificed for Nature, the Druidic dragon line energies? Just a hunch, seriously. Keep up the authentically beautiful work ur both doing together. Kudos
Twll Du - the Black Hole. The Devil’s Kitchen is a recent (ish) name given to it by English Walkers/tourists. A bit like ‘the Nameless Cwm’ - which is called Cwm Cneifion (the valley of the fleecing).
Very nice vid, massive lake, loved the little waterfall.👌🫡
Enjoyed doing it again even if only my head.!Thanks for the memorys
Great video folks. You mention carnes a few times, do you mean cairns? As said keuhnz? Looks a good wander that, and me to bear in mind. The best and most challenging walk we’ve done in the lakes was the Fairfield horseshoe. Belter 👍🏻
Good video. I get the same mate, I’ve done Hellvellyn and all sorts, Kelly legs and vertigo are a killer. My wife doesn’t get any fear. Highly annoying, like you you’ve just to block it out best you can! Cheers
Just done the Watkin Path absolutely loved it. I had my dog with me and didn't realise I'd hit 1 of the more challenging routes till we got half way up!🙈 decided I was taking my dog the top no matter what. He urged me on with his absolute beast mode pulling me up the mountain, he completely blew me away haha
Loved that thanks for tour, I was in 2minds whether to actually move there ❤and its a definite yes ❤🧡💛🧡❤
Hey, how's it going? Great channel and nice video.👍113👈 Have a nice weekend!😊
Wow totally amazing journey well done, that was extremely dangerous but lots of fun and the views are spectacular. A very interesting video thanks ever so much for sharing. 'Wow, what an amazing adventure'
Wow, another amazing adventure you are both very brave climbing so high those hills looked extremely high up and one slip and it could be all over for you, do be careful . The views are amazing thanks for sharing and well done reaching the summit. When you said the powder room I thought you were being a bit posh talking about an old stone bathroom lol.
Very steep hills on Red Pike now is the time for another cup of tea and a cookie or biscuit to take in those spectacular views happy days
Hi fantastic video footage. Quick question are you only using the GoPro microphones or are you using external Mics or are you re-doing your voice over after? I see the foam wind covers on one of the camera's but camera two didn't see. Thanks Gareth
Hello hi Gareth, nice to meet you ☕️👍 thank you so much fornyour kind feedback and question, yes with both use Gopros a 9 and 10 I think, with foam surrounds, that is all. All recordings are done on the hillside, really happy with the sound quality from the cameras and foam guards. We had a DJI with a Rode mic, but didn't get on with that as it left the camera a bit exposed to the elements. Hope this helps, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat 🫖❤️💪☕️
@@TeaInValhalla that is awesome sound and the wind guards does a great job. I love your creativity with your footage like going up hills and leaving the camera on the mini tripod and your down shots too. The views are spectacular and your energy levels are fantastic. Thanks to both of you for such a wonderful journey I almost feel like I'm right there with you, minus the cold and the exhaustion lol. Keep it up both of you are doing amazing.
That "deliberately shaped" stone was vandalised about a decade ago. It was not originally that shape.
Thanks for sharing that with us, we did wonder! Hope you enjoyed the video, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat 💪☕️❤️👍
You really make amazing vids so gkad i come accross thos page i have ankylosing spondylitis and u find these vidoes so informative and helpful
Thank you so much for your kind words Martin, really appreciate that and glad you enjoyed the video, please do check out some of our others, some walks and historic sites captured and shared. Have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat ❤️☕️👍🫖
The lake district is just one big theme park now unfortunately...was at one time a place of solitude..now a bit of nice weather and the roads are full of tin boxes with canoes selotaped to the top of em heading north...🤦♂️
Hello Mike and good afternoon, the same can be said for a lot of places up and down Great Britain, that being said there are still a lot of places you can find solitude too. I do wish more people would treat these Greenspaces with the respect they deserve and take more time to help clean them up when they are disrespected, like volunteering with litter picking or helping relay the paths and such. We can but hope, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat 👍❤️🫖☕️
