Felt so bad for Wade Boggs. He was sobbing 😭, the lost hurt like heck, but he had just lost his mother that year from a fatal car accident. He was hurt, but 10 years later he won with NY YANKEES.

At 39:38, Hodges tosses his glove just beyond the first base line at the end of the inning. That's where he keeps it between innings?

Cubs managers always blow the crucial series: 1969- Leo burned out the whole team & bullpen with 0 substitutions 1984- Frey leaving a gassed Sutcliffe in to face the heart of the order 2004- Dusty doesn’t call time out after Bartman grabs foul to allow Cubs to regain composure. 2016- Madden pulling Lester early and going too often to a gassed Chapman

One of the best fielders in ML history. He couldn’t hit ML pitching but was a regular because of his glove play - One of the very few players who achieved that. ✌️

As storybook as it gets. - 2 teams with storied championship droughts. - Game 7 with the possibility of a blown 3-1 lead. - Cities with recent champions in other sports (Cavaliers and Blackhawks). If any baseball game should get a documentary, it's this one.

Did Joe Buck retire? He was the voice of the postseason for several decades along with Tim Mcarver who sadly passed in February of 2023. His final World Series broadcast was in 2013.

Greatest hitter ever...yes better than Williams, Rose, Cobb, etc...the quality of pitching he saw with the addition of middle relievers, specialty closers and that most of his career he had no protection in front or behind him in the line up (maybe 4 years as an exception). And yes I know Rose played in the same era, obviously, but he was on the Big Red Machine after all
