His short time with the Astros was the best stretch of pitching in the history of the game.

I had dinner with his pitching coach with the Houston Astros. Vern Ruhle. Loved Randy.

This and CC’s run with the Brewers are probably the 2 most dominate runs with a pitcher traded mid season

agreed, tiebreaker to Randy though, because he was very good both starts. CC was meh in his playoff start against Philly

People forget how dominant he was with the Astros, I’d argue the most dominant stretch in his career

10-1, 1.28 ERA, 12.4 K/9 - yeah, he had one of the better one-third seasons the league has ever seen. He really struggled in Seattle that year before the trade. Why the Astros didn't keep him? Cannot fathom why, but Arizona was the benefactor of that decision as he proceeded to reel off 4 straight Cy Young campaigns (1999-2002).

This Traded HAUNTED the Club for YEARS. They didn't recover from it until they left the NL in 2012.

@@Tornado1994??? They had playoff success in the mid 2000s. And they didn't even win the NLDS with Randy in 1998

I wonder if this is the type of video that could give the general population just a small inkling of how difficult it is to hit major league pitching. I doubt it, but I can hope.

Can you post the entire July 4, 1985 game between the Mets and the Braves?

The Hell was Seattle thinking. The beginning of the end of MLB. Team loyalty is not even on the list of qualities for todays baseball. Shame. Can you imagine, it was nearly expected thst a player would spend his entire career with one team... too bad money took the fun amd lore from pro sports.
