Caleb is going to love him some Cole Kmet. I can see all 3 stat categories for Kmet being very close to the same this season.

Ive always felt that the TE position is sort of special. There are so few TRUE TEs. I consider a TRUE TE to be someone who can equally well catch and block inline. Cole Kmet is one of those few talents where when he is lined up, you don't know if it's a running or passing play.

Cole Kmet going with the under because of the 3 great WRs and Gerald Everett stealing some attention. Last season it was pretty much a Kmet and DJ Moore show. This year, we have 5 legit target monsters.

The offensive line is scary because we have a lot of suspect lineups and not enough all around stud offensive linemen that have experience who you can count on with your eyes closed and CWWILL COME OUT OF THE GAME CLEAN.

I'd be thrilled with a 3,500 yd, 20 passing TDs, 11 INTs, 65% completion. I think what I'm proposing is realistic. I also think the Bears win goal should be 10, but even 9 wins would be a successful season. We're still not solidified with our interior OLine and at DE.

We have a 6’1” rookie QB who has never played under center or used any convincing play action. That’s number 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5

Running game, we need to keep the green bay system with the athletic linemen. Hopefully Waldron can stick with the running plays that already work for this team.

Disagree with Brad on the defensive line. You simply don't trade a 4th round pick next year to select Booker if you view him as a total project player his first year. Booker needs quite a bit of playing time, so my point is that if you add a free agent to the line, it WILL NOT BE A STARTER. It will be a cheap rotation guy. If Booker was NOT selected, then yes the Bears would need to sign a free agent starter.

True. And I also think they may be happy with Gervon Dexter's progress as well. He transformed his body, changed his diet, and word is he's really hungry to train and learn and get better.

O-line I agree with Brad. If Nate Davis shows up ready to work, then I'm ok with him. Athletes shouldn't have to ramp up twice in the offseason, once for OTAs and once for regular training camp. If Nate Davis is giving us BS to start training camp, then he's just a lazy douche that just doesn't want to practice.

Personally, I think fans should stay away from some sort of QB yardage goals. How about a 90% QB rating on the year? I'd love that.

The offensive line is my greatest concern. Jenkins averages 10 games a season , a new center and Davis hurt last year and doesn't seem to have any desire to practice is a problem. However we do appear to have better backups this year. The 2nd concern will any edge step up to go along with sweat. 3rd how long will it take for this offense to gel, last year we got off to a very slow start, let's hope this year , we get off to a fast start.

I am cautiously optimistic. I was also optimistic last year and then the Bears were ill prepared to open the season and I blame the head coach for that. Flus better have them ready to play from the start. No excuses accepted.

@broskibear9666 it's a book series. Also recently had two movies released. The main character is referred to as Lisan al Gaib, which is a term within the series for a Messiah figure. So the Lisan al Caleb shirt is playing off that to imply Caleb is the Bears savior.

In terms of the cap space, I think Poles has done well in a couple different ways: First, he gives players what they're worth. That way there aren't a bunch of bad contracts on the books holding us back. Second, the drafting has been pretty good.

Im thinking that special teams might be a source of optimism this year. Cairo Santos is solid and this new punter Tory is pretty special. Also, our special teams coach has been talking about this kickoff rule change and was instrumental in getting it done. I'm damn sure that he's got plans for the new ruleset. Having a great core of LBs including the backups could also help tremendously with this new kickoff rule.

Tevin Jenkins probably isn't worth trying to extend. He just doesn't stay healthy enough to get a big money deal. Let him hit free agency and if teams make legit offers considering his injury history, then we can jump in on the bidding. If another team wants to pay him big time cash beyond any injury concerns, then they can have him.

  • @tehmpus

With all the Nate Davis hate going on, I just want to defend him in two ways. First, last year his Mom was dying and then died. Let's give him a pass for not being very good last year. Secondly, the NFL is talking about making a chance of eliminating OTAs and adding that practice time to training camp. I like that idea. What Nate Davis isn't saying, but I think he believes is that NFL players should be able to enjoy their offseason, then ramp up physically for the season. Trying to ramp up physically for OTAs, then get another month off, then ramp back up for training camp isn't a good training regimen for the body. No athlete really tries to stay at peak performance year round.
