Maybe I'm wrong but if we were always going for Caleb then why wouldn't we have brought in Kingsbury as OC? They are close and Caleb played in his system style.

I think they took Waldren because if they went with either Maye or Daniels or if they stick with Fields, then it won’t be an issue. If they went with Kliff and Caleb bombed at the combine then the bears are screwed. This gave them flexibility. Just imo

DId you watch any of the plays USC ran? The plays were VERY simple and still Williams did not display a real ability to process and throw with anticipation. Yes, Williams did display an ability to create however, often he didn't need to create, he did process what the Defense was doing and didn't throw on schedule, leaving a pocket he didn't have to leave. I think it will be a huge mistake to draft Caleb WIlliams.

No DT, we will address the defense next year. Trade down from 1st and get a Odunze and JPJ, Bates is a RG,C as depth. Bear down.

The Bears can't afford a high-end DT in free agency, if they are planning to draft the Caleb "Trojan Horse" Williams. I would pass on Wilkins, because the offense and other holes won't be filled, or weaker players will be starting (example more Lucas Patrick starters. I guess another top 5 pick next year with a 4-13 record.

I would not go after Wilkens, the Bears need to pay Jaylon Johnson. I have watched tape on Caleb Williams and I do not see anything special about him. All the Bears would be getting is a least athletic version of Justin Fields who can throw from a variety of angles.

Bears need to stop playing around and DRAFT a stud CENTER. To me, the Bates signing is depth at Guard. I don't want players who can supposedly play Guard and possibly Center. Stop the nonsense and draft a Center. A true Center only plays Center. These filler Centers will never be adequate. It doesn't 'add value', it only means we have another half @ss Center. I think it's funny how Bears fans are nostalgic about garbage players who've played for these terrible teams the last 5 years LOL. Hit the road Mooney.
