I love it as it shows Poles convinced him to buy into the BEARS and help us get better.

Shefter himself has said that people in the Bears front office want to stick with Justin. But he said he still felt that they wouldn't.

Moore was another depth piece. They had Byrd in from Phil (?) and talked to him. I think they will sign him. I agree with you that a huge deal on a RB isn't a huge need.

the contract structure is a template at this point....flat cap hits year over year, sizeable bonus, but only first 2 years guaranteed

Can an interview Ryan p o l e s was asked how does it feel to have the number one pick two years in a row and he replied it feels great I just hope we can get the same value from this one as we got from last year's first round pick to me that sounds like they're keeping fields and trading the pick to the Talking Heads they all said that just shows he's going for Caleb Williams the value in another interview he said I would have to be blown away by a quarterback to take a quarterback in the draft after he said that 20 minutes later the Talking Heads said Ryan p o l e s Blown Away by Caleb Williams they just make up their own stuff

I'm not opposed to Pollard or Swift at the right price. no more than 2 yrs and no more than $10mil, so $5mil per season. The reason I mention those two is because they are the youngest of the veteran FA RB group and have big play capability. There are so many veteran FAs RBs that teams have the leverage with negotiation.

Here’s the thing: Fields is staying. Poles is playing a chess game. If everyone thinks Fields is staying and the Bears are taking Williams, it drives the price of that #1 pick up to someone wanting to get Williams. If people thought they were staying with fields, the pick's trade value decreases because teams know they aren't sticking with it.

From Mikey "Beardown" Cuz' perspective--you don't ruin your credibility by putting out some breaking news like that and then end up being proven wrong. Now, he did hedge his bet by saying "barring anything very unforeseen/drastic" but if they do end up trading Justin then this "drastic" event that occurred better be very obvious and provable or no one is going to believe anything from him moving forward.

I disagree I would sign Barkley for 10Ms w/6Ms salary cap hit. Trade Herbert for a 3rd or 4th round and draft another with that pick. Have rochon step up and the rookie can be the 3rd back. It’ll be good to have a RB that can catch passes. It’ll be elite!!

herbert is a 6th, maybe a late 5th for someone desperate

Bears would be lucky to get a 6th rd pick for Herbert. He's slow, often injured, can't catch or pass block.
