Very good episode! Just discovered this channel! One other area pharmacists can work in Industry is Investigational Drug Services (IDS). This is where the pharmacists are actually working on Phase 1 - Phase 3 clinical trials testing drugs seeking FDA approval. I've been in the IDS role for 3 years now and it is a very niche role that is really rewarding and has a great work-life balance! These roles can be in a research clinic, a contract research organization (CRO), or as part of a hospital system.

Hospital/Clinical is much more interesting than retail imo, but If you go into in debt and want to be a retail pharmacist, you building your own PRISON. Yes, you will be a SLAVE to the corporations. You want that? It's a TRAP for the unwary and I advise against it. The PBMs are stealing all the profits from the industry and they they pay off congress to do so. (imo) The corporations then get squeezed for profits and they set YOU up to pay for it because they cut back your help to make up for it . A pharmacy degree is called "The Golden Handcuffs" for good reason. The subject matter is very interesting, but reality of the job is something else entirely. Escape if you can.

What if the overtime fluctuates. Like one month I worked overtime but the rest of the year I didn’t. Would I say be in that elevated tax bracket or will it regulate back to before ? And if I don’t go back to that bracket. Does that mean I’ll get back more money on my tax return?

You pharmacists and your egos, dont forget its free labor that you use from your studends who are in massive debt. Respect is a two way street, what a joke "let me teach you my knowledge for free" when its actually let me use you for all the free labor and shit i dont want to do.

I hate to agree with this video. Honestly, think pharmacy is an awesome profession, but it has gone downhill. I know a few recent pharmacy graduates who are earning less than $50 per hour but are also burdened with over $200k in high-interest student debt. It's disheartening to see them struggle to afford a home. In comparison, those who pursued nursing school have significantly less debt and earn around $45 to $50 per hour. It's important to caution students about the financial implications of taking on loans for their education. While it may be worth it if your parents can cover your tuition, it's crucial to carefully consider the financial aspects before committing. Remember, pharmacy schools are businesses and may paint a rosy picture of job prospects, but it's essential to weigh the financial consequences before making a decision. That's all I wanted to share.

Don't listen to this guy, be proactive and do you're own research. As of last year bonuses, overtime, and commissions are all taxed at a flat 20%, no matter what tax bracket you're in. Straight from irs.gov Supplemental wages identified separately from regular wages. If you pay supplemental wages separately (or combine them in a single payment and specify the amount of each), the federal income tax withholding method depends partly on whether you withhold income tax from your employee's regular wages. If you withheld income tax from an employee's regular wages in the current or immediately preceding calendar year, you can use one of the following methods for the supplemental wages. Withhold a flat 22% (no other percentage allowed). And as someone who actually gets a shit ton of overtime this is exactly how they do it.

Sounds good, but some mentors and preceptor are abusive. Do you have a video about the things they can and cannot do? I hear some students working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week because she's afraid of "failing" that rotation.

Well said there still no good jobs ! The ones in retail suck wages are to low No rights to take a break since tbe gray area “ management “ means you don’t seat down you don’t take a break and you get pay salary but still cut you hours in pay but expecting you still show up for at 50 hours With With no help from technicians … you will be abuse and mistreated by the customer plus by upper management

what will happen if you instead tax more for earning more tax less for working more hours so, the goverment will push more people to work more hours and in the long term they will claim more taxes and their productivity of the people will increase af, what do you think? is this viable?
