    Klaus is my favorite character in the series, so it makes me happy to see him being talked about more. Great video! One of my favorite small tidbits from this series that I feel doesn't get enough attention, but would like to bring up, is a moment where both Klaus and Z say something that actually parallels each other; it's almost the same phrase, but wildly different contexts. from Xenoblade 2 - Cutscene 167: -Klaus: "My only purpose was to find out how mankind has changed, and where it is headed." -Morag: "And were you disappointed?" -Klaus: "No. As you stand before me right now, that is who you are. That is enough." from Xenoblade 3 - Cutscene 049: -Z: "You shall find that there is no such thing as luxury in this world. Everything buds but from a single thought. That you yourself are here is proof definite thereof. You need not understand. You can simply remain as you are. That is enough." It's fascinatingly beautiful storytelling. I adore this series so much.

    10:19 My favorite Consuls/Moebius are D/Blackblaze Dirk and J/Joran, cause the former reminds me of Metal Face/Mumkhar, while the latter was once a nobody who became a somebody to rise above his uselessness. Not to mention they'd be perfect Rival Units for Project X Zone 3 and I wanna see both of them team up with Metal Face/Mumkhar, as well as Ouma Europe and other villains.

    Klaus is a fascinating character and I agree, his actions are hard to judge. I mean is ending a dying world being torn apart and giving it a chance to start fresh bad? You do end the lives of billions, which most likely dies anyways, but you also give a start to many, however no way to know if it’s better. Idk if he had that thought in his head when he pressed the button or if he just was a curious mind wanting to see his experiment go through, but I also think I may press the button too. Hard to put yourself in that situation. We can at least thank him for amazing stories, when XC2 showed the connection I was so hyped for it, it was amazing and I loved it. One of my favorite moments in the saga

    To answer the question it will be no also is the say the age old question that you can’t become or understand what it is to be a God from a humans perspective. then again, do you believe there is a God but I’m going to replace him or there is none and I will be that God? is he really God or is he playing the serpent and not know it? The two versions of Klaus one being the serpent, the other being Adams’s atonement metaphorically.

    Hmm. This video has been on my mind since yesterday. If i were in Klaus shoes, i dont think i would have pressed that terrible button. Through malos actions, we see firsthand what aion can do. Its primary means of destruction is taking control of other machines, such as sirens, and destroying the surface via orbital bombardment. Aion can also 'nuke' a large area via the promethius move. Truly a terrible machine, but i rather have that, than throwing everything into a foolish hail mary, an experiment with unconfirmed results. But heres the thing, klaus may have truly believed that the experiment was safe, and if it was safe, it would be a far better option than aion or letting the savorites grab ahold of the conduit. But oh, how mistaken klaus was. What aion could do was confirmed, klaus experiment was not.... Now i know through klaus actions, we have my favorite ever video game characters. We get shulk, fiora, etc. We get rex, pyra, nia, mythra, etc. I love them and all you guys.... But their birth came at the cost of an immeasurable cost of lives. So this means, from a narrative point of view, The video game characters i love the most.. Never should have existed.. And that really breaks my heart. I love shulk and co. I love rex and co. I love noah and co....and the only reason they exist is because klaus arguably made the wrong decision. He killed countless people, people just as valuable as shulk, rex, and noah, and everyone else... I love those guys, but they never should have existed. Ugh, just typing that makes me sick... Would i have pressed the button? What a terrible question! 😊

  • @JBspherefreak
    @JBspherefreak10 күн бұрын

    It's this paradox of emotions that makes it so interesting tho! We can't justify the mass-genocide of an entire world just because the one that came after it is so beloved by us all now. What would the world have been like after Aion and would people have recovered? Well, I think Xenoblade 3 was a nice insight that life still moves on afterwards...

    klaus's world is the best possible outcome of that event cause assuming that the saviorite rebels are indeed the salvator faction led by Dimitri yuriev, he would have done worse things with the zohar. which could threaten the original universe itself as seen in xenosaga, however unlike xenosaga there was no rubedo or albedo back then so idk how he would have been stopped

  • @JBspherefreak
    @JBspherefreak12 күн бұрын

    The problem is that we can't know this for sure. Background from Xenosaga but Dmitri Yuriev isn't exactly evil (Which is arguably what makes him one of the best Xenosaga Villains), he's merely afraid of the presence and existence of U-DO which he encountered in the Saga universe many thousands of years later. Yuriev basically went insane and decided that the only way to overcome his fear of God was to become one, thus cleansing his fear of it so Yuriev throughout the games is just trying to solve that goal This doesn't work in the Blade universe tho as the event that made Yuriev terrified occured many thousands of years later so we can't know for certain what Yuriev or the Saviourite Rebels plans were

    I like how in the 2 games where we are shown the experiment, it looks different, and there are some differences in the detail of what happens, almost as if the narrators (Alvis and Klaus) are not completely aligned on the exact events and are telling slightly different versions of the story. From a technical standpoint, Monolith could have just used the experiment cutscene from 2 in DE, but they chose to remake the original one in their newer engine.

  • @JBspherefreak
    @JBspherefreak12 күн бұрын

    I personally feel like this is the case although I need to think about it some more. I very much believe that the way Alvis displayed the experiment is intentional and an extension of how HE views the events that unfolded, focusing entirely on the man who pressed the button and little on the outside forces like the Saviourite Rebels whereas the XC2 rendition is likely more accurate to the truth and is probably bang on. I'm sure that there is some form of reference/foreshadowing/connection/something that shows off Alpha's personality but I need to put that train of thought back into the oven for now, I've got way too many other things cooking at the same time 😂

    if I were in Klaus shoes to press that button...... To be honest I probably would have even if I had shulks power at the time to see the future of the consequences of my action. however, it wouldn't be in the honorable way of saving humanity and the world like Klaus did but more to the line of me being a coward and fearing that the Saviorite rebels will imprison, torture, or execute me. I won't deny the overarching plot being fantastic, but I wouldn't quite agree on strictly collectively treating it as one supermassive game. Technically speaking one could dive into each of the separate game pairs as their own independent stories, and going through each part separately allows for a much bigger picture to be painted without feeling too overwhelming and daunting, like the difference between eating 3 meals in 3 separate times of the day, compared to cramming 3 meals in 1. (Admittedly, I'm not quite sure where this comment was going)

  • @JBspherefreak
    @JBspherefreak12 күн бұрын

    Yea this is a funny one, your technically not wrong and in one sense, this is the original Xenosaga plan done right but at the same time, each game deserves to be seen as its own individual entity. Whereas this was the main focus of Xenosaga, I'd say its the secondary focus of the Blade games

    @@TLNT2103-zg3sb I say what I said because you really shouldn't touch Xenoblade 3 until you've finished both 2 and DE, because 3 has parts in it that spoil key details in both games, and that goes double for Future Redeemed. It is more in-line with how a sequel kinda HAS to be a spoiler to be an actual sequel. You cannot just not bring up key details of how we got there. • @mirandagoldstine8548
    @mirandagoldstine854813 күн бұрын

    Ah that’s a problem to ponder. While Klaus did save many lives by pressing the button he did damn many more when he activated the experiment. But then again his world was on the brink of total annihilation via the war that had broken between the Savorites and the world government so he was really between a rock and a hard place. Either watch his world be destroyed by the flames of war or take a gamble in order to pave the way for a brighter future. Honestly I can’t really say if his decision was the right one or not because at the end of the day lives were lost because of the actions of the government. Perhaps had the Savorite rights bill passed and been signed into a law then the war wouldn’t have broken out and thus there would have been no need for Klaus to start the experiment. But still there would always be the chance of a different devastating conflict breaking out and thus another chance, another opportunity, for Klaus to press the button. Basically at the end of the day the government in the Xenoblade universe was one of the catalysts for why Klaus did what he did because, in a way, it was their actions that spurred him to act.

  • @lpfan4491
    @lpfan449113 күн бұрын

    I'd unironically say it was a good call because in a scenario where everyone is damned either way, it becomes more about how many live in the end rather than how many died.

  • @JBspherefreak
    @JBspherefreak12 күн бұрын

    I'd disagree with that as well^ I think choosing one side or another doesn't really work, especially after the decision is taken away from so many more people. If Klaus had given the opportunity and choice to the people of Human-Kind (After all, there is still a chance that they still live on in some other dimension), then I think Klaus' choice can be more justified but choosing between complete Global Annhilation (The Experiment) and potential Global Annihilation with a high chance of Collatarel Damage (Aion's Activation), then it becomes a hard choice to make. If we go by your logic before, Aion may have been the right call as there was a Higher probability of more people surviving

I feel like this is for Ouroboros and Moebius, but also the Architect and Zanza.
