I feel like Shulk and Rex won’t die so early in the dlc, because the description for House Cassini(who is most likely Rex) says that his personality influenced the other founders who were still young when the city was restored, so either Shulk and Rex die when the city dies or until much later in the story. The party member names seem to support this as well, as why would Shulk and Rex be part of the main cast of party members if they die so early on? And what would be the point of having them in the dlc if they’re gonna be dead so early on? It just doesn’t line up. Lastly, I think I know which founders are which, Matthew is Vandahm, Nicole might be Doyle(I’ll explain soon), Ei is Rhodes(because I heard that Ei is a Japanese female name, which would fit the founder who was an agnian soldier) while Kagiroi is Ortiz, and last are Shulk and Rex. I think we might have a roster of 8 party members this time as opposed to 7 from the base game, because the last 2 slots might actually be for the actual founders of house Cassini and Reid being 2 heroes. Your analysis and theories of the dlc are great, my guy. Keep it up

Shulk and Rex aren't Founders. The descriptions mention that they're the Mentors of the actual Founders, but said Founders wanted the statues to be of the people who inspired them instead of themselves. So we don't know much about who these 2 specific Founders are.

I could see them getting hurt early on in a way which renders them basically unable to fight for the most part. That way they could still be mentors but at the same time not be the ones who need to actually do the stuff. But well, I guess we will see what happens.

While Radamanthus itself is indeed destroyed, the World Tree was still standing at the end of Xenoblade 2, and it should belocated somewhere near Maktha. As for Colony 9, I always thought XC3's Colony 9 was in the same spot as the original one. Both zones are really similar geographically speaking, and it is close to Millick Meadows (the original Bionis Leg).

Keep in mind that Aionios is a mushed up mess of both areas. Things simply aren't where they're supposed to be, proven through Raguel Bridge being no-where near the rest of Bionis Leg thus, I don't think we can rely on those past locations

If Tetsuya Takahashi manages to get "Small of Two Pieces" as the ending Theme, trademarks be damned, it woul dbe such a way to cap off the Perfect Works that he always wanted to have happen over 25 years later, more then The base game of XB3.

Yeah, I don't think shulk + rex are dying. We have six party member names including them, matching the playable party count from the main game. Also, I can't see monolith not take advantage of the events of the main game happening in a frozen moment of time, my guess is that this dlc will be a prequel and sequel at the same time, with Alvis using an attack the triggers the events of the main game, during which he acts as Z (A to Z matching his statement about being the beginning and proclaiming the end during xeno 1). This attack will fail, as an iteration of the cast of xeno 3 is successful at breaking the cycle, and the dlc will continue as an epilogue.

Those are only the 6 found currently. Chances are that more bits of info will be added to the game in anticipation of the DLC. The full cutscene list makes sense as story boarding everything and planning the story would be your first priority and actually creating the characters could come later so I agree that there will be only 6 party members but I'm fairly confident that 2 are missing from the files for right now. We are still like 4 months away after all

Rex and Shulk being dead would be strange since they really made sure to reference Shulk and Rex as mentors for house Reid and Cassini. Also I feel like the grandfather that's being referred to is N who could be Matthew's grandfather.

Its not that strange. Providing the actual Founders have longer lifespans like I suspect, then this in actuality is quite easy to pull off. I've said a few times but I reckon the event that destroyed the City must have occured around 100+ years after the birth of Aionios (50 years at the least) due to the amount of incarnations of Noah before he turned into N. Even batting low, Shulk and Rex will likely be in their High 20's to low 30's at the birth of Aionios and an extra 50 years would be getting towards the end of their lifespans each. Maybe they aren't dead and are simply old men but I don't think they'll be playable like before

I feel like they really need to have rex and shulk as the main party members even if you think they are heros or whatever. If they don’t it would be very weird to the story. I really hope they explain a lot of the characters from the other games. For example what did Rex and Shulk take from their friends like how similar Rex looks like Zeke and how Shulk looks like Dunban. Also what are ur thoughts on Riki and Tora? Like should they be alive and do you see them like a Manana and Riku duo?

They also really need to end this Zanza or Klaus whatever you want to call it saga on a bang and they really need to make sure the ending for 3 makes more sense because I’m still so confused on what exactly is happening and where this series is off next. For the combat I’m not gonna lie I feel like heros will have the opportunity to move around and switch like we see in the Nopon saga mini games. Maybe they will add a mixture of many mechanics and I am kinda crazy but maybe they will do something about blades and that mechanic. Like have Rex hold the swords and Pyra or Mythra be behind him helping him out. They really do need to explain moebius better and especially how they came to be and what exactly is Z. Other than that if Reyn gets some good ending to this series I will 100 percent cry in happiness!

I get where your coming from but...why do Shulk & Rex HAVE to finish it? They've had their games and Story Arcs and for the most part, their time has passed. It wouldn't be strange for the story either as Xenoblade 3 thematically is about moving on to the future, NOT staying stuck in the past (Kind of similar to this). We can still learn about them through their students tho, reflecting on them and being a kind of secondary persona. It is in no way a requirement for them to finish things (Although I won't deny that them coming back for the ending would be Hella epic) Riki will probs be alive in a prequel section as we think he will act like a Nopon Sage and Tora is up in the air but I don't think they'll follow the party round this time. The ending does make sense once you get your head round it but I will admit that a little more clarity would be helpful

@@JBspherefreak I just think it would be a huge letdown for them to not have them as say playable characters and them not being part of the story. The fact that both these world combining and having both Rex and Shulk fighting together and ending what they both fought for would be a great way to end the Zanza Era. I understand what your saying tho and honestly I feel like your way makes more sense than mine but I just believe that ending this with shulk and rex together would be the greatest way to end this once and for all.

Fantastic theory crafting. Just outstanding. I really hope you are right. I wanted, most of all, for the DLC to be a prequel and a sequel, so that we could get the conclusions to most beloved characters, so this certainly gives a good sign that Monolithsoft is cooking up one of the best DLC expansions possible!

I’m so hype for whatever that Klaus’s cutscene entails…..imagine we get to play as Klaus (albeit in a very limited role)

The only thing that I disagree on is the fact that Rex and Shulk won't be present throughout the DLC. This isn't just due to the fact that they both show up in the datamine as party members but the fact that they have statues instead of the two founders that they mentored meaning they have such a large influence in the founding of the second city and that we know very little of the Founders of Reid and Cassini, in which case, I presume that these founders will be the Mikhail & Milton of the DLC story.

I really hope that if Kagiroi is the daughter of Rex and Pyra specifically, that she has the attitude of Mythra.

For the ‘Sister’ cutscene, it could be referring to Ei, but it could also refer to M, because if the Cassini founder is one of Rex’s daughters they very well could be related to M.

Honestly I think Rex and Shulk will be there for most of the DLC, based on the idea that they were their mentors and it would be good to show them mentoring them, plus there should be 6 party members in the game, like the base game. Honestly Cammuravi looks more like the son of Brighid and Aegeaon, and brother to Sena, but that just me.

I still think there will be 6 party members, they will just be all of the Founders instead of Rex & Shulk. The way the memorials are also written makes it out to be past tense also so I don't think we'll see them mentoring other then in flashbacks Why can't Cammuravi just be his own original character? Don't have to be related to anyone

@@JBspherefreak Doesn’t really convince, based that all the memories are written in the past tense, not just Shulk and Rex, plus he missing names of ortiz and Rhodes in the datamine, it makes me think they are just going to be hero treatment based on the datamine, plus you forgot to mention the seventh founder, that is missing, assuming that founder is a completely new character, and based on the placement on the statues makes me think that the seventh founder has a double Ouroboros iris, and could be a pure ouroboros, like pure Moebius. As for the Cammuravi thing, it just fun to speculate character familial relationship to previous characters, plus fire hair.

The founders main job was to establish the city. But we won’t be doing much of that in the DLC, we will be fighting. That is rex/shulk’s job in place of reid/cassini. Something happens to rex/shulk in the end though and so their students must carry on their legacy in establishing the city. Nothing says that all the founders must be oroborous, nothing says that shulk/rex didn’t become oroborous. I think thats why they gave us the shulk/rex statues instead of founders reid/cassini, these are the party members of our story.

Actually, all of the Founders MUST be Ouroboros. The people of the City are bound by Ouroboros Blood which was passed down from those original Founders. That is a FACT that was stated in the main game and there's no way around that. Additionally, it is also set in stone that the Students are the one who had Ouroboros, NOT the mentors. I also don't know where people have gotten this idea from but why are the Students of Shulk & Rex not going to be present in the fighting? I've always took it as they were trained in wielding their swords which makes the most sense and after being trained by them, they should be more then enough to continue the fight

@@JBspherefreak Cassini and Reid will be playable, the ones that I question being playable Ortiz and Rhodes, based on the character datamine, unless all the names of party are actually codenames and refers to a parent of each founder, I don’t see us playing with all 6 founders.

It makes sens for the dlc to be a sequel and prequel because for xenoblade 1 the dlc is a sequel and xenoblade 2 is a prequel. Since xenoblade 3 reunites both two games. Great video thought Im exited. I also think that pyra and mythra will temporarily be an enemy. Cause it is far out of Rex’s character to call someone a heartless monster

I don't think it'd be boring per say, more so interesting. Shulk & Rex have had their stories and I don't feel it completely necessary to prolong their stay. I think it would be hella epic if they arrived as you described but I just can't see it being possible currently

​@@JBspherefreak They have been hyping up Wave 4 with that Key art since launch, then comes the teaser trailer showing us two returning protagonist, shooting the hype for Wave 4 through the roof. So for them to just kill them, just like that, would be just cheap... something like how The Last of Us 2 hyped up Joel in trailers just to kill him a few hours into the game. To say that i would be disappointed would be an understatement. And even if they are party members is not like the story would revolve around them, they would fulfill more of a support role, similar to Nia and Melia in base 3. I really don't get why people are so hung up on having Shulk and Rex killed

@@eliasacevedo9542 I’d like to emphasise that we have ONLY received a Teaser Trailer for Wave 4. What’s the point of a Teaser? To get you hyper ofc. Wait till the first actual trailer and we’ll see then. If they are present, then obvs I’m wrong and there doing something else but if they’re absent for most of it then I told you so 😂 Melia & Nia weren’t party members, only showed up in the final chapter of the game and can only be unlocked after completion. Shulk & Rex may be playable party members from the moment you begin so this isn’t a fair comparison to draw at all. If we start with Matthew and the prev portage, who do you think is gonna get the spot light because they’ve been, in your own words “Hyping it up” and so for them to take a back seat role would be “disappointing”. This is the conundrum with them being alive during the main events. As for why I believe this, simply do the maths. If we’re right and the teaser is the prologue set at the birth of Aionios and this game WILL be depicting the destruction of the City, then we have at least 5 different iterations of Noah to go through before these events which works out at 50 years roughly

@@JBspherefreak Long reply, but bear with me: I'd like to also note that it's not only the Teaser, but the key art of the Expansion Pass. And i was never expecting them to be playable, seeing the datamines pointing them as Party member is great but i'm perfectly fine with them appearing in the prologue of the expansion and the again in the epilogue, i wouldn't be too disappointed if they aren't party members or play any part in the founders story, what i wouldn't be fine with is with them straight up dying at the beginning and never appearing again. And if they die to Alvis in the beginning, we have maany reasons to believe that this would mean that they die for real, since their appereances do not match their Aionios selves. Shulk had long hair and was missing an arm, and Rex was missing an Eye. And i don't get the maths, we have no way of knowing how many time passed since the creation of Aionios and the creation of the first city, much less how many lives N lived before becoming Moebius, since even Z seemed to have lost count... it is even said in the game that the people from the First City existed because of N, since he goes on a rant on how he "he created them" and how as their creator he had dominion over their lives and deaths, so this could very well mean that the first city was founded by N and M's son, and for N to be able to claim being their creator and the reason they exist, at least a few generations must have passed among the city's people. Furthermore, the first city was pretty out in the open, as if they didn't fear either Moebius or Agnus and Keves, this makes me think that Moebius as an organization didn't exist yet and Agnus and Keves were not at war yet, otherwise there's no way they could have existed in peace for as long as they did. This also leads me believe that N's attack is what started Moebius as we know it, and also the moment Z took full control of Origin and started the war between Keves and Agnus. N and M could very well be the first Moebius other than Z, X and Y... maybe this is why they wear Gold and Silver instead of Red. And now, what about Shulk and Rex? Well, i don't know, but one thing i know, and that is that they were not dead or too old during the time of the founders, since their plaques clearly states that they fought alongside them against Moebius, whom if what i theorized earlier is true, didn't exist in numbers before the first city destruction, and only became a enemy to city after it and the start of the war (since Ortiz and Rhodes were soldiers who were found while they were in a fight to the death)

Ok there's a fair bit to go through here and a fair bits thats wrong so lets get into it 👍 I'm gonna admit, the way you worded this here is far better then what I did. I would be completely content with them returning at the end of the story and filling the role as they described. The reason I think they would be dead is because of the math I mentioned before but I'd be cool with this also. I didn't also mean that they would die via Alvis at the start. They would receive their injuries, continue to fight Moebius like mentioned in their memorials and die either of Old Age or in some other battle. Thats what I meant before but I'd be down for what you said also In terms of your point with the maths, this does nothing but support my argument. I provided the bare minimum of lives that N lived before becoming Moebius. In the memories Mio showed Noah in Chapter 6, we see Noah and Mio die on a battlefield to Z, Noah & Mio die within Origin, them die on a snowy mountain and them die via homecoming with their kid. These are the 4 lives he lived at minimum with Mio working out to around 35 years because soldiers can only live for 10 max. We also have no inclination of how old the child Noah seen in the prologue lived which could have been even longer. Again this is at minimum 35+ years with the actual amount likely being much larger. Its too soon to actually say the original City was "Out in the open". It's largely speculated at the moment that Hopes rest was just one entrance to it and the large Annihilation Event nearby was targeted on the actual City which may have been hidden (Based on the one cutscene we see with N attacking it where there isn't much in the way of natural light) We also know based on the leaks that Moebius WAS around before the Citys destruction (Moebius W) as long the events that I theorise about are correct. Regardless tho, Moebius was almost certainly around during the old City. Lastly, Ortiz & Rhodes must have been there before becuase of how they were found and what was mentioned within their plaques

Appreciated and not to worry! I Chaptered everything in this video so that those of you who want to not be spoiled too much can do so. The big thing is the Cutscene names so I would recommend avoiding them in that case

Considering the main game had a max 7 party members and there are only 6 data mined for the dlc, I do think Rex and Shulk will be playable the entire time. It would almost feel like a step backwards for them to restrict our party back down to 4 members.

No thats not what I was getting at. I'm sure there will be 6 party members as well which will include ALL of the Founders (Ortiz & Rhodes on top of who we already know). If this data mine had came out sooner to the speculated release date (Which is from around July to September) then I would agree but it isn't unusual for them to have not added all of the characters into the game yet

That being said, the dlc also doesn't have to be just like the main game. Both torna and futures connected were wildly different. It is totally possible you're right

Torna's a better example because FC was built into the base game. Torna uses the same general rules of XC2's combat but with some QOL changes in that you can go any route when using Elemental Bursts & the Switching function so based on that, I think most of the combat will be the same in the DLC with a different form of Ouroboros and probs no Master Arts (I'd assume we just have 6 arts as a baseline)

Sorry for the new post , but i was re-watching your video and a few others trying to wrap my head around the other parts that i didnt mention in my first post. Anyways what i write here will be unrelated to the other post. 1. I still believe that Pyra and Mythra are absent in the game because they have to Power Origin from within. Seeing Rex wield replicas also shows that the girls might be occupied with more important matters. That said , if the ending of XC2 actually unbindes the Blades from being forced tied to Humans which makes a lot of sense in context with XC3 , it would just boil down to Rex simply not being able to use Blade weapons like in XC2 anymore .... but Ino kinda disproves this in her DLC. So i stick with Pyra / Mythra are busy or dead. 2. I generally have no idea about Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz work , but even within Einsteins Theory time travel can basicly only work in one direction. Forward. But in any case , time travel as a concept is not yet established in any way shape or form within any of the Xeno games, so im pretty sure there will be no time travel. 3. With 2. out of the way , according to the wiki for Discourse on Metaphysics , it says in the Summary : "Leibniz believed this world (or reality) to be the best there possibly could be ..." - which strengthens my thought on : Alvis being the main reason why events take place the way they do , simply because he planned for all of it to happen in exactly that way no matter how cruel it may be , just for the best possible outcome to be achievable. 4. "Part of the Deal" + "Origins Memories" + "Ghondors Path" - So if we discard the possibility that Monica could have just named her daughter after some other guy , despite not having evidence either way , we could try to come up with something that would work. That said ... we are looking for a possibility to forward from a Prequel section to a Sequel section , without violating the law of time .... We know that Founder Vandham went on an expedition alone in other words he just vanished. So what if he just got stored within Origin or in a Pod like Nias and gets awakend by Ghondor or whoever during the final chapter of the main game ? Or even more wild , what if Founder Vandhams Memories alone got stored , planted and awakend in Ghondor for her to take certain actions right before the XC3 main party restore time flow to ensure a specific outcome after time flows again. She is a fist fighter like Founder Vandham , so this wouldnt conflict on a gameplay side if the DLC decides to replace Founder Vandham as playable character model with Ghondor for the final bits. In any case a sequel / ending section like this would raise the question who else would be part of the party at that moment ? 5. "Creation of Worlds" + "Klaus's World" - Learning about the World Klaus derives from dosnt interest me personally at all. Its a dead non existent universe by this point. So i dont see how this could add any relevant informations. But i think here we are getting the explanation and conclusion to the Klaus Saga. As in what he intended for the new world to be , and if this actually ties in with my thoughts on Part 4 , it could end up being very relevant to what the outcome at the end will be. In other words : If the Story DLC messes in a sequel section with Origins settings , we might not actually get 2 Split Universes as the XC3 Main Game Ending shows us , but something entirely different without invalidating the actual ending of said main game. 6. Additional thoughts to 5. - Luxin pointed out in his Ending Explained Video , that young Noah is vanishing in the Ending Cutscene , if that was intentional this could be explained if Noah and Mio are in the same World and Interlinking because of their soul / memories and emotions. If they still would have seperated Worlds like the rest of the XC3 ending cutscene makes us believe , this would be impossible and Noah disapearing would be most likely unintentional. So that and the fact that i dont see how seperated worlds would conclude the Klaus Saga , are my reasons to believe that the Founder Vandham messes with the Origin settings in the Story DLC , to not just restore both worlds the way they were before , but to correctly merge them in a way that makes sense. 7. "Na'el's Dream" + "does nothing substantially , this brings us nothing closer to their identity" - Na'el being the wife of Noah's Son ... the Bible says so ... Sure i understand that this sounds unimportant with the given informations so far ... but Na'el being just Founder Vandhams Grandmother could have some relevance if she takes on a antagonistic role ... Or if Na'el is Noah and Mios daughter in a sequal story part could even have more relevance than that. I dont discard your theories , but lets face it Na'el just being someone new and unrelated would just be lame af.

The Leibniz theroy is actually also present in xenosaga as well, in an extremely subtle way. While shion and gang are in the enchephalon dive, nephalim shows shion a future where KOSMOS "anahilates"(rather, seals off) U-DO and leaves a hole in space where lost Jerusalem/earth once was. Remember, This was only a potential future shown to them, it did not actually occur in "our world" AKA the "Best world". Latter in the game, on the artifical station (forget if it was an ark or something idk) you can find a terminal that describes lost Jerusalem disappearing in almost the exact same way because of an unknown cause.That "possible future" became part of history in "The next world" or "our world" as Leibniz describes it. This is why it would be the "Best World" then, because it is a world self corrected and built off of the failures of every other, the ending always overwritten and incorporated into the next world. Gives a whole new meaning to ghondor saying "she'll be fine next time" when talking about Shania at the end of side story sena. If you view don't view xenoblade 3s aionios as a proper continuation of the worlds history which can be debated ad nausem.

"If you view don't view xenoblade 3s aionios as a proper continuation of the worlds history which can be debated ad nausem" - Well i see your point , but i think there is nothing to be debated as far as i can tell , Aionios did happen after the Events of XCDEFC and XC2 for sure , and marks the end of those Universes. The Memories of those who have their Souls stored within Origin should persist to some degree after time flows again and the Universe/s are re-build. Even if those Memories are only in their Souls and cant directly be accessed by the Person itself they will carry over to the new re-build Universe/s. Like in Xenogears when certain conditions are met Fei and Elly were able to remember their past lives. Since we already saw reincarnation and remembering past lifes in Xenogears and we saw a persistent existence as an Observer / Guide of some sorts in Nephilim in Xenosaga. So i wonder how these Stored Soul Memory People will be portrait in future Xenoblade games , i doubt they just redo Xenogears or Xenosaga. But specifically about Ghondor and Shania , that sentence never made any sense to me. There is no Next time around , no matter if you have been bound by the Flame Clock ... the game made it pretty clear that Moebius and Ouroboros with the sole exception of Noah and Mio are excluded from the Re-Birth Cycle. Now that i think of it , Ghondor might not know it ... or Ghondor was refering to a possible new born life outside of Aionios ... or Ghondor is more sus than we think.

Watching this now after seeing the DLC, multiple times of cringe🤣. Na’el being the true enemy controlling Alvis is the funniest part for me. (I know this theory was based on the little info we knew and I’m not throwing shade or something but it’s still really funny to see🤣) Anyway… yeah… this truly sounds like a fan fiction now afterwards.

Finally another person who wants to see Dirk in the DLC! I feel like he'll have a good chance of appearing to make up for the lack of screen time he had in game, I'd like to see more of his past too. Maybe he'll appear as an arc villain or a boss? His model is in the game too despite his flashback being a pre rendered cutscene, I feel like they'll be reusing a lot of models. Also I hope that there's a chance of him being Mythra's son, there's a few things that point to it (imo he sorta looks like older Rex)

I think Dirk as an Agnian soldier would just be peak and I can see him being a Boss fight during the "Colonies Collide" section but I don't think we'll see him again after that. Just like the idea of him showing up tho! 👍 Never heard the Mythra thing before either and tbh...not a fan 😅

Mythra and Pyras direct offspring should have turquoise core crystals like Alex. Not sure if Dirk’s crystal was visible but finding it was blue would rule that out.

I know this is fairly loose logic but...Xenoblade 1 extra story was set after the main game while Xenoblade 2 was set before and since 3 is an amalgamation of the two it would make some sense for the dlc to take place both and after the main game

I think itd be a dick move for monolith to drop that teaser of shulk and rex and immediately kill them off/give them little to no screentime. Not to mention both of them were part of the six party member names datamined, meaning thered have to be 2 more that werent included which doesnt make a lot of sense. i do think shulk and rex will be part of the party tbh but thats just me.

2 being absent does make sense. The DLC is likely still many months away and I wouldn't expect all of the characters to be in the files just yet. I'm also fairly confident that we will at minimum get two more characters who will be party members as we need another name for Ortiz so I still think there will be 6 party members. We'll have to see tho. A trailer should confirm or deny everything anyway

Same, but i coulnt help but take a quick peek. I saw two like BIG names but i dont want to think about it, because i just dont want spoilers.

I'm not sure why you think Shulk and Rex will die, much less die early, when the Founder descriptions heavily imply they survive AT LEAST till close to the end of the whole thing and we see that Shulk loses an arm and Rex loses an eye specifically fighting Moebius [aka they don't die when this happens]. Would be a gigantic middle finger to the fans to show adult Shulk and Rex and then just kill them off quickly.

If you actually read all the of the Founder Statues carefully, they're written in a different style and tense to the others so if anything, they imply they won't be around. It also comes down to the supposed timeline of events. If we assume that the Teaser Trailer scene does occur during the birth of Aionios, then even at minimum, the events of the DLC will occur at least 50 years later and we can measure this. It is a cold hard fact that N destroyed the City and it is also a fact that Noah lived 4 lives at minum before turning into N. In every instance, Noah appeared as he does in the main story which was 18 and on two occasions, we see him die from a homecoming. Even if we give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was IMMEDIATELY reborn afer his death, then at minimum 36 years MUST have passed by. We've speculated that the Queens celebration at the start of XC3 happens 12 years after the events of XC1 making Melia 100, Shulk 30 and Rex 27. Add on those at BARE MINIMUM additional years for Noah's lives and you come to their age being 66 and 63 respectively. Whilst this isn't out of the question and they could easily remain alive at this age, this is once again the BARE MINIMUM and I would find it far liklier that even more time passed before the City's destruction (For instance, enough time to Weaponise Alcamoth and turn it into a Mech) With everything I stated above, I don't see anyway that Shulk & Rex will be permanent playable party members based on this info we have so far. It is possible that we're missing something that will be revealed in the DLC which is why I stated I might be wrong on this but the numbers don't lie at the moment and chances are, I don't think they will be present I also don't believe that it'd be a "Gigantic Middle Finger" either. They have had their games and times to shine and whilst I will find it epic, I'd be disappointed if they stole the spotlight from Matthew/Noah. This is there game and to me, it should be them to set the events in motion, not the other two. They did their part and I believe its time for the others to continue their will

@@AzureRoxe I mean that’s a bit out of left field 😕 I pride myself and this channel for allowing all to share their opinions here so I don’t get where this is coming from? I simply answered your question a provided in detail the evidence I had accumulated to come to said conclusion. I stated in the video and that previous comment that I might be wrong as it’s possible that Monolith may have something up their sleeve that we haven’t seen yet so it’s not even like I’m not open to other suggestions Whilst the comments on this video will disagree with this comment, those I have spoke to through discord about this exact topic have for the most part came to the same conclusion in that it’s be difficult for Shulk & Rex to still be around during the events of the game. I have good reason (In my mind) for this to be my belief currently and I think that’s it’s justified based on the evidence but if you disagree and come to a different conclusion, then that’s cool also 🤷‍♂️ When it comes to Storytelling, I feel as if I have a general grasp on how it’s done and whilst I’m not an expert, I do think that it’s enough to get me through vids like this one. I personally don’t feel like giving in to “Fan Service” is always the way to go in narratives either. Giving the fans what they want and creating a good story don’t always go hand in hand and I’d ALWAYS prefer the latter. I did think XC3 was lacking in fan service but that’s a whole separate issue to this DLC story as to me, Shulk & Rex being back is more then enough and even if they aren’t playable, I’m confident they’ll get their fair share of screen time even if it’s through means of flashbacks or what-not. Ultimately what I’m saying is I don’t think Shulk & Rex being the most important parts of this story is necessary at all and I’d be disappointed if they took all the stage light away from the actual Founders who SHOULD be more important to the story thematically. That’s just my opinion tho

@@JBspherefreak I don't think Rex and Shulk will take anything away from the protagonist. Like Alvis, both were here at the beginning (Both XC1 and Xc2 took place at the same time) and they will be here at the end.

🤔 Discussion fodder , oof where do i even start. This will not be in a good order , i just noted down my thoughts and numbered them so responding is easier if you want. 1. Community Icons - lets get this out of the way directly , i was under the assumption that they could add the construction of the second City to this Story DLC. So im not surprised. 2. Alpha - Alpha and Omega - Xenogears - "I am Monado. I was here at the beginning, and I will proclaim the end" Alvis / Ontos , Lucifer / L'Cirufe / L , A-Z , there is always someone who is Sus and monitors the Events as they unfold. 3. I agree , Cammuravi being Pyras Child is a aweful idea. Thing is we cant actually see Cammuravis Core Crystal so we cant find conclusion on the matter , we can see Senas and Mios Core Crystals , Senas being a Normal Core Crystal could mean that before Origin she was just a normal Blade or a Blade born from 2 Blades , while Mios Core Crystal is a Flesheater Core Crystal , but i doubt she did consume a Human , so my assumption is that shes the child of a Blade and Human aka Nia and Rex , giving her the Flesheater Core Crystal from birth. 4. I think , none of the Founders can be a High Entia or mixedbreed , or else there would be more Winged People running around in the City. 5. Traversing the Overworld - Ouroboros flight - is this copium ? - yes , the switch graphics performance is not as good as the Wii Us , so no Open World Flight will be possible , unless they trash the visuals completely. Just wait for a XCX Remake on the next Nintendo Console ^^ 6. You completely forgot the 7th Founder in this. Granted i dont think the 7th Founder will be a playable character , i still guess it will be either Alvis , M or Nia , Nia would make a lot of sense , since the Statue is a Ouroboros Stone which originally come from Nia. 7. The Founder Statues in the Memorial Hall make it pretty clear that the Masters of Reid and Cassini did kept on fighting despite their loss of an Arm and an Eye. And since Reid and Cassini are not shown in any meaningfull way , i assume this is just a Torna Mikhail situation , the kids are there with them on the Journey and recieve training from Shulk and Rex , but dont actually participate in the fighting. 8. Two Remain + The Consul Duo - Sure they could be the last survivers , and im just spittballing here , but what if Ortiz and Rhodes are actually Ex Consuls from Keves and Agnus , it would explain why they were able to live for 80 years. And their Flame Clocks being destroyed could be taken as being freed from them , looking at Capt'n Triton . One reason why i think this could be a possibility is because the Consul Ashera remembers from her past life memory , is not the current Consul R. 9. When did we start with First and Last Names ? Did the first or the second City establish those ? - So Vandham should be just Vandham and not Matthew Vandham , or if his name is actually Matthew then he would have named House Vandham after what , his Grandfather ? - in any case i have my issues with the names Matthew , Ei , Nicole , Kagiroi , did you play around with the names , Ei Doyle has a terrible ring to it . And if her name would be just Ei , why would her House be called Doyle. But maybe her name is just Ei and the House is called Doyle after her Grandmother or whatever. 10. My Lineup for the Playable Characters : A. Vandham -> Grandson of Vandham -> Great Grandson of N + M -> Great Great Grandson of Rex + Nia B. Doyle -> Granddaughter of Vandham -> Great Granddaughter of N + M -> Great Great Granddaughter of Rex + Nia C. Reid - Shulk -> Plain and simple Shulk is the playable character while the girl called Reid is the Founder (Mikhail situation) D. Cassini - Rex -> Plain and simple Rex is the playable character while the girl called Cassini is the Founder (Mikhail situation) E. Rhodes - check point 8 F. Ortiz - check point 8 - That said , there is actually another possibility for Rhodes and Ortiz to live for 80 years , if they bond as Driver and Blade and have a shared core crystal. Tho im not sure how the events would have to unfold for that to happen. 11. At some point Vandham departs on a lonely expedition , with his whereabouts being unknown and his fate uncertain. - Imagine this Fei Vandham one day walking down a beach to find some weird guy called Lao washed up on the shore .... wait thats copium again ^^ 12. And as to where the Franchise is headed ... - Mechs in Combat ... obviously. XC3 is all about Tandem Mechs / Ouroboros. So i kinda expect the next step to be a bridge between Ouroboros as Power to convensional Tandem Mechs or directly to normal Mechs. Or they just attach Mechanical Parts to their Fusion Forms , something like how the Vita or Ares looked. And not gonna lie , but XCX Full Metall Jaguar is just a optimized fusion between XC3 Flash Fencer and Full Metall Jaguar , Lanz Heavy Guard already has a Gattling in his Shield uh i mean Sword , so a XCX Remake with Story Addon that bridges the gaps would be my guess. Or a game in between that lets us play during the time of the foundation of the Samaarian Empire which also would bridge the gaps.

1) I'm not sure that we'll get a quest like Colony 6 as it seems to quick and it would be a MEGA long undertaking but maybe I'm wrong 2) Yup pretty much 👍 3) I just don't get why people try to make connections that simply aren't there. If there was anything other then him being a "Fire Blade", then I could entertain the idea but there isn't!! 4) I don't think that's necessarily a limitation. After Thousands of years, Telethia took the form of High Entia and they see to evolve to that pretty quickly. In XC3, there are many mixed bloods who have much smaller wings then Melia did (And they would be the same as when Aionios froze) so I think its possible that over at minimum, a thousand years of evolution, the wings may have just completely disappeared altogether. 5) It's not really a matter of "Graphics Performance" as in that case, you wouldn't be able to do what I'm describing in any other game either. The main issue comes down to memory with them then having to make more ground accessible and detailed. It may be copium but I still want it 6) Your right, for the sake of this video, the 7th completely slipped my mind but they may just not be an important character OR they never had Ouroboros to begin with. We'll have to see tho who it is for now 7) Then what would be the point? If Rex & Shulk were the two who actually did all the fighting and had the Ouroboros power, then why did their students get the statues? It makes no sense. I don't see them repeating Mikhail & Milton either or at least not with main 6 (Maybe with the 7th) becuase I think that'll just take away from the actual Founders. It makes far more sense to me that we'll see Shulk & Rex through their students personalities and then get Flashbacks 8) That's an interesting idea. Whilst I'm not certain your right, that would be a pleasent twist and I would be open to the idea 9) Personally, I think thats a silly thing to get upset about. They're just names and yea, we don't where those names derive from. Maybe they're just words that the Founders chose or maybe they are actually they're surnames. Either way, I don't think it really matters 10) I disagree but already explained why above 11) That would be a LONG expedition 12) We're thinking along the same lines

My thought was simply that the second city dosnt exist at that point at all , but it could just be something like discover the location in the sword and then do some simple quests like in Torna. So we could end up being both right or wrong. 3. me neither , i agree with you , i simply dont see a conection between Pyra and Cammuravi. That said , i would also not want any more of the kids of the XC1 or 2 cast in this game. Unless we also see their Mommies or learn what happened with them. 4. the line from Fake Nia in Chapter 5 about 1000 years ago the first homecoming took place in Agnus Castle just sticks in my head and i think thats not enough time , but we cant actually tell how much time really passed. So yeah maybe your right. 7. You have a point there , it slipped my mind that the Founders are supposed to have the power and not their Mentors. But i still think that even if we control the kids , that Shulk and Rex will be around all the time and might even help fighting in Cut Scenes. Further pushing the point that they stayed active despite their injuries.

Doubtful, I don't see Shulk & Rex under any circumstances becoming Consuls. They fought for this world once and they sure as hell wouldn't give it up. Thats why Noah is arguably more intersting as he is actually flawed 👍

I doubt it, it's 100% going to be N and M, after all N was like the Founders last great enemy, since after his defeat, the Founder of Vandham took off and never returned.

I've been thinking about the leaks a little, and I feel I should put out my thoughts here, since I really have nowhere else to sperg out about this stuff. I do agree that in all likelihood, that was not the Alvis we knew, but Ontos. Perhaps Ontos' original personality from pre-Experiment times. I'm inclined to believe that isn't Na'el, due to Na'el being a typically feminine name. (If so, Na'el would be an entirely different person produced by the Ontos core. Like Pyra and Mythra being so different, but differing gender, too.) As outlandish as it is, Na'el could honestly be Xenoblade's Wave Existence. Either way, like with the Queens, the truth is not as the trailers present it with Alvis. For another, I don't think Rex and Shulk die within the prequel. Would be too cheap to kill them off for a quick shock when we all know Origin revived them post-3. As for the others. I think Kagiroi is Rhodes' untranslated name. Knowing these games, if she bears some connection to Pyra/Mythra, her English name will be similarly different. Matthew is more than likely Vandham, due to being first on the list, and being another biblical name. Ei and Nicole are harder to pin down, either one of them being Doyle or Reid, or even Cassini. On a separate note, whatever Rhodes' name, and Ortiz' role in the story, I am of the opinion that Ortiz is Shulk's son, and Rhodes another daughter of Rex. This would not only make sense going by appearances, but also give the two wounded heroes strong reasons to rescue them, and possibly explain their extended lifespans as Kevesi and Agnian soldiers, each. I do not mind a prequel story in and of itself, but I do not want a thematic repeat of Torna, which was the quintessential gutpunch prequel. A combination prequel and sequel would be nice, given the right flow of the story. Lastly, and honestly most importantly, if Shulk, Rex, and Alvis are the only returning characters in Wave 4, either by appearance or mention, I WILL be disappointed. Shulk and Rex were joined at the hip (mind out of the gutter, please) with Fiora and Pyra and Mythra respectively. To not factor this in to a continuation of their stories is not just a disservice to Shulk and Rex, but the girls as well. Not to mention supporting characters; Dunban, Reyn, Riki, Zeke, Tora, Dromarch, Morag, and so on. I wouldn't demand that Monolith hobble their storycraft just to make a crossover bonanza, just that these characters do not exist on their own. To then try and make them do so is either an intentional choice for narrative weight, or a grave mistake.

ugh... spoilers, you should've clarified what you'd be spoiling, otherwise how would I have known not to watch this video when you gave me a spoiler warning-- I didn't know that Xenoblades 1 and 2 were connected to 3 because I only played _Xenoblade X on the hit console The Nintendo WiiU!_

The timeline just simply doesn't line up. Noah is a child at the beginning of Aionios and the Alvis scene will likely be at the same point. Even best case scenario, they would be too old to fight. The only way I see them being playable is if they return in the sequel section

@@JBspherefreak i mean, it all depedns on a few things, quite a lot we dont have info on theres the theory going around that people who are from outside aionios and werent added to the cycle of rebirth dont physically age, or we know that they had access to suspended animation technology as Nia was essentially in a cry pod for hundreds of years they could also be a shulk and rex remade using origin before Z took control of it theres many ways for them to show up and be usable as heroes during the prequel section

Your completely right and as I said in the video, I may be wrong but... That theory is flawed by the fact that the "Suspended animation" tech only works by incapacitating the user like the Lifehold from X. We also know that City people DO age so that's outta there It could be a version of them that comes back at some other point but how and why? The details of all that lining up seem to much like a stretch to me Finally, Heroes may not be in the DLC due to the amount of work that goes into one of them. Additionally, having them as a Hero will "in theory" make their students work (There's only one Monado and set of Aegis blades so who gets them?)

@@JBspherefreak while i was lacking knowledge about how exactly the suspended animation works my other two thoeries stand, since shulk and rex are not from the city, being from the bionis and alrest respectively, being in aionios, a moment of frozen time may have also "frozen" them in time to a degree meaning they possibly age slower or do not age at all in aionios as for the weapon only existing as one, shulk is wieldiing the monado replica-EX meaning he could simply make another one or enter it into the Iris blade system, and as for rex's aegis blades they appear to be replica aegis blades, due to some notable design differences and them lacking the iconic aegis core imbedded in them, meaning their students could take them up through the use of the iris and the ouroboros ability to copy weapons

Thats not how it worked. I explained all this in the Explaining Origin video if you want more Context but time isn't literally frozen in Aionios, it simply gives off the illusion that it is. To that extent, stopping someone from aging in Aionios is impossible Admittedly didn't think of Shulk manufacturing another one so good point 😅 but again, Rex's is a stretch. Its possible this is just a redesign but we'll have to see 🤷‍♂️

Alright Ima have to poof out at here at 14 minutes Based on past Xenoblade games, the cutscene titles tend to have heavy implications

Your predictions with rex and shulks are pretty wrong... Shulk lived until 80 to help build the new city and rex as well.. and considering the timeline seems to be around when N destroys the city rex and shulks will be alive.. cutscene names give that away. However I think future will be the sequel part. Also origins memories could be them accessing origins data

Man, I haven't seen someone be SO wrong in a while... Firstly, your describing the Founders of House Ortiz & Rhodes who were both stated to live 80 and die of natural causes after previously being soldiers within Aionios. As your aware, this is through the information left behind on their Founder Statues. The problem is that the statues of House Reid & Cassini are basically confirmed at this point to already be both Shulk & Rex so they CAN'T be Ortiz & Rhodes as they are. I mentioned in a prev video however that Ortiz may have been a new Shulk after dying on the battlefield as they do look similar and I presume this is where your theory derives from. Secondly however, there is a BIGGER problem. That issue being that Rhodes...was a female. I don't think Z's offering free Sex Change procedures either so all of this is simply incorrect based on this one point alone 😂

Originally, it was stated to be as long as Torna but based on the cutscene names, I think it will be as the duration overall seems much longer considering the content each scene will likely contain
