Creative Chaos Costumes

Hi everyone,
I am a cosplayer from the Netherlands.
I started in 2013 and learn so much from all the tutorials on youtube,
that I decided to try to help others in the same way.
I love to share my creativity when ever I can.
Enjoy!
And come take a look at my facebook and instagram if you want ;)

    I like how u made the pattern from duct tape but not the finished product. That’s what I was looking for specifically and ur video and one other are the only ones to gv me that. The other one was using special space age material which uses heat to harden which is still not pinnable. Urs is completely pinnable and can be made from scrap material. I will be using some of ur technique and some of the other but I appreciate u keeping it to what I can afford because that’s why i would prefer to try the duct tape method. Naming ur video “pinnable dress form from duct tape pattern” might be helpful for others looking for this method.

    I dont know if you will reply, but how did you connect the wire exactly? I've watched multiple times and i cant figure it out 😖 Please explain?

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes
    @CreativeChaosCostumes Жыл бұрын

    Hi, not sure if I can explain it clearly but I will give it a try: I took the long/outside wing pvc pipe (the one that hangs down, not the one connect to my back) and in the top part I made a small hole. I put the fishing wire trough the hole and make a few knots. That it. That is how it is attached. When I just pulled it the wing wanted to go outward a bit. That is why I added the eye screw to the middle of my harness on my back. You need to be able to have the wire run from the point of the wing and stay in the middle of your back. Hope this helps

    What if the body is fat it can stand own.. What pipe did i use if body is big and superfat

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes
    @CreativeChaosCostumes Жыл бұрын

    The dressform it self probably won't be that much heavier. The stuffing doesn't weigh that much. If you glue the PVC pipes they will probably be strong enough. It won't nearly be as heave as a real person. If you are making a super big dress form and are worried, you could also use steel pipes. It does get more expensive and the frame will be heavy, but it will be very strong. Goodluck!

    This is what I was looking for. Would you say this is somewhat beginner friendly?

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes
    @CreativeChaosCostumes Жыл бұрын

    I would say it's worth the try! I think you will be able to do it if you are patient and take your time. I had the most trouble with the crotch. So if you don't need the legs and are having doubts if you can do it, I would say maybe skip those and just make the torso. Good luck!

    @@CreativeChaosCostumes i will! I have two more questions if you don't mind. One: does it matter how thick the fabric is as long as it is not stretchy? I have a canvas material and i have a standard cotton print from joann's. I'd like to use pattern print so it will look prettier but would it be too thin? Idk if i should just use the canvas. Two: most of the patterns I've seen cut much smaller pieces i.e. around the breast or curves. You've gone in just long strips. So, does it make a difference to the form if you make less pieces? Yours seemed to come out fine though.

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes
    @CreativeChaosCostumes Жыл бұрын

    I can't tell you if your material will be too thin without feeling it. You will be pulling on it a lot and it needs to keep your stuffing smooth. I think the best course of action would be the canvas first en than the pretty layer on top. Than the canvas can do the hard work and the pretty cotton will be what you see. I feel it worked just fine with the long strips. I do think if you need your breasts to be very exact that more pattern pieces help with that. So if you want to drape bra cups on it etc. My dress form doesn't have the dip between my breasts, but I personally don't wear clothes (except bra's, and I don't drape those) that need to be form fitting between them. So I have not have issues yet.

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes

    Caulking is glue, so wouldn't recommend using it on your own hair unless you are planning to keep this look permanently 😅 I have seen others braid wire into their hair and then form the loops. Maybe you can try that? Good luck!

    @@CreativeChaosCostumes Ok well thank you I got to save up for the wig I have been cosplaying without it, I put my hair in pigtails with pinks scrunchies but that is it no loops and I have been looking up how to do it with my hair but it just shows how to do it with wigs not real hair, so I was wondering if it was possible?

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes
    @CreativeChaosCostumes Жыл бұрын

    I don't think it's possible to get these loops with real hair. You can get close by braiding in some wire and than looping the braids. But I think otherwise you can only get the shape with glue. My wig was a cheap one from AliExpress. I think a payed about 12 euros back in the day. Maybe there will be discounted wigs around Halloween. Either way good luck!
