Jessica rabbit cosplay - sequin dress tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I wasn't sure if I should make this because it is not the most clear, but I may still be helpfull to someone. So this is how I made my Jessica Rabbit cosplay dress. Sequins!
This tutorial is meant for people who have a basic knowledge/ experience with sewing. I am in no way a professional. I can only try to explain how I personally make my costumes.
I learned mostly through trial and error so explaining this process can be hard. If you have any questions or requests, please let me know in the comments below.

    Love it! Do you have more of a step by step tutorial for how you made that pattern and cut the pieces and how the four pieces fit together to make the dress? I’ve sewed quite a few costumes, but my brain doesn’t always make the most quick sense when it comes to patterns. I usually find that sewing from tutorials is easier than from a pattern I can buy. And I love the concept of how this will be a better fit than something off the shelf. Thanks!!

    I don't have more of a step by step. When school is less busy I will see if I can make a basic pattern drawing, transfering to fabric and fitting it back together tutorial

    You can get medical shears that have a guard on one side that make it much easier to cut through the tape bodyform without worrying about cutting anything (like yourself). Usually used to cut off clothing from people during emergencies. Search 'medical shears ' on Amazon or something.

    @@CreativeChaosCostumes My dad used to be a first responder, so I'm also well used to having them used on me, luckily in my case it was just for practice XD

    Hahaha, good practice! My kneecaps used to dislocate but not pop back. They had to cut off my jeans about once a year. Part of the reason I learnd to sew ;)

    How did you attach the dress to the corset? Or prevent the dress from moving with the corset on?

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes

    nope I did not attach it. For my contest I put in some safe pins just incase. But it stays on fine. I can hardly move in the corset anyway xp

    Did you add a seam allowance when you cut it out?

    How’d you do the slit?

  • @CreativeChaosCostumes

    @CreativeChaosCostumes

    5 жыл бұрын

    Dont sew the seam with the slit closed any further than you want your slit. If you put the dress and the lining right sides together and sew them to each other, leave only the bottom open. Turn it right side out and close the bottem seam (top stitch or handsew). Than the split will be done :)
