I remember when loaves of bread came to the dairy uncut wrapped in wax paper and you used to bite the corners off then break the loaf 🍞 in half, dig out the middle and eat it like that. I remember when milk was delivered in glass bottles to your gate and nobody stole it.

Couldn't agree more regarding food and beverage, apart from tea, which I HAVE to drink whilst the liquid is still simmering, so several tiny cups of strong black simmering tea with fresh tea bag for each pouring at brekkie time , and, agreed, the flat white can be russian roulette, depending upon the talent of the baristra. Already forwarded this on to others to brighten friday evening. We've been south islanders for 16 years now, and my only regret has been that we didn't move south much sooner.

It's always been the same. I moved to Oz in 1977 and came back in 2006. That was the worst mistake I ever made, and I've made plenty. What others are saying is true - over there a better lifestyle all round and none of this radical Green/Maori bullshit. I'm now 69 and alas cannot go back.

I had a problem with my neighbours 2 dogs barking from the moment their owners left to go to work and didnt stop until they came home .... drove me fricken insane (I was self-employed and working from home) Tried to talk to the neighbours (whom told me to F off) .... then made a complaint to council "dog control" unit (who wanted me to note the time/days and lengths of the barking for 2 months before they would do anything) ... this wasnt going to shut these mutts up. (I knew what could fix the barking and real fast but didnt want to get in trouble with the police lol 😋) I found a solution by purchasing a Ultrasonic Anti-Bark Control System (not a cheap one either) and turning it on at full blast ... took just a couple of days and then the problem was resolved 😁 .... Silence is truly golden 😇
