    I’ve said it for a while now. They need to stop you being able to sell on your ticket. You buy your ticket and if Injured etc you can only sell back to hyrox. People from affiliated gyms were selling tickets on straight away. You also see people on Facebook page saying I can’t do it now because of etc etc. just cut all that out and I think that would solve a major issue

BTW both me and my mate got the email that we missed out at London. If the age groups are in the numbers that you expect to see in a London event it would make me suspicious.

    Spot on about Hyrox's comms Martin. I've been a volunteer judge at two Hyrox events previously and you're meant to get free access to a future event as a reward for volunteering. When I got an email about the London Excel ballot opening a few weeks ago I waited in the online queue, tried using my volunteer code at the checkout and it didn't work, so I signed up like anyone else. Then when I next checked my emails, there was one from the volunteer team with a volunteer-specific link to sign up! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Obviously I tried that as well but have heard nothing yet either way - surely if volunteers were meant to get priority access the link should have been sent to us *before* the general ballot?? And when I email the volunteer team to ask about it - crickets...🤷🏻‍♂️

    Posted this on a previous video of yours and believe would be a good method to combat the ticket issues. Affiliate gyms have their own individual code capped at a certain amount. Loyalty scheme for repeat customers to be given first choice of a ticket to next events similar to music festivals. First time competitors to enter the ballot for the remaining tickets.

  • @kandamy1
    @kandamy110 күн бұрын

    Hi Martin, Would it not be possible to avoid the tout problem if a ticket had to be registered to a particular athlete at the time of purchase? Then if you couldn't use your ticket it should have to be returned to Hyrox to be resold and you would only lose a small fee for administration. Given their high ability with computing during events it surely should be possible for most of this to be done automatically online without participants having to contact those pesky, expensive humans at all.

    Hyrox UK acting like a business rather than a developing sport. Creating demand for tickets fuels demand for gyms to sign up to affiliates which makes them easy money. Guess people need to remember the reality that this is a fitness brand, not a sport that truly cares about athlete/ sport development and welfare. It's also why we see over crowded tracks at UK events etc.

    There’s an incredible amount of entitlement within the hyrox community. The events are incredibly popular now and there is a limit to how many people can compete. People want to get a ticket and have other people miss out to just get to the venue and then complain it’s too busy. It is a very popular sport but it is relatively young as well. People in the UK are very lucky with the amount of events which are put on that they don’t have to travel too far for. Just go abroad if you really want to do it, it doesn’t cost a fortune.

  • @martin-boyce

    I know what youre saying, everyone gets a bit selfcentric about this stuff, like toddlers with toys. lol Dividing the market into those who can get tickets (through affiliates) and those who have to scrap over it in queues or ballots is where the main beef is. What's interesting since releasing this video learning how many affiliate gyms also cannot get tickets....even through the early release. Either an invisible cap or through wide spread abuse of codes. Either way how can Hyrox sell this as a perk to gyms if it cannot be fully fulfilled. Lots of problems to solve

  • @yourfeelgoodcoach4854

    An interesting take on a commercial business model Martin and completely understandable from an athletes point of view As a business they are doing very well indeed and are far from a crisis, floundering and needing change. Hyrox suppress supply, holding back announcing events and event dates and ticket launch until after an event where athletes are hungry to “go again” thus creating demand from people who have to grab what they can Affiliate gyms pay £1k a year and with Pure Gym and The Gym Group signed up affiliates must be close to 1000. That’s £1m a year, with 75% of tickets sold in 48hours, they would be crazy to change that income stream. I personally think the next step would be to start increasing prices and offering official programming thus putting gym owners in the awkward position of leaving and letting down members or increasing prices Many people feel the solution is more events, but administration levels are incredibly poor now and finding willing volunteers that can apply standards, is getting harder and harder particularly when not all volunteers feel valued or looked after. Logistics is also an issue with kit being shared I believe across Europe I think So what’s the solution …. Well, from a business point of view it depends on the owners strategy. If they are building to sell and get out before the bubble bursts carry on, a buyer would love these numbers If they are wanting more revenue then double, or treble ticket prices which will lead to slightly less demand but increased profit If they want to make a bid for Olympic status then implement drug testing and carry on hyping the event, suppressing demand and building the brand From an athletes point of view, try to see the ability to attend a fitness event as an opportunity not a basic human right Join an affiliate gym, if there isn’t one close or they aren’t that good volunteer, if you don’t want to volunteer then travel to Europe while demand is lower, try the trusted ticket resellers, try other events or lastly accept you’ll be doing less of them As a “consumer” we set ourselves up for disappointment if we keep thinking a business, particularly one with a great product but poor service, owes us anything and we have a right to attend events

I attempted to get tickets for BIRM 2024 and failed due to the affiliate link being exposed, now I more than likely won't be able to get a ticket for London EXCEL later this year. I find it incredibly frustrating and whilst HYROX are selling out. Fans who have been there since the first ever UK Events are being neglected. Hyrox UK is ran by a team of Young Adults and whilst the growth is fantastic to see, it could crash and burn if they continue to treat the Die Hard HYROX fans with no respect.
