Spot on about Hyrox's comms Martin. I've been a volunteer judge at two Hyrox events previously and you're meant to get free access to a future event as a reward for volunteering. When I got an email about the London Excel ballot opening a few weeks ago I waited in the online queue, tried using my volunteer code at the checkout and it didn't work, so I signed up like anyone else. Then when I next checked my emails, there was one from the volunteer team with a volunteer-specific link to sign up! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Obviously I tried that as well but have heard nothing yet either way - surely if volunteers were meant to get priority access the link should have been sent to us *before* the general ballot?? And when I email the volunteer team to ask about it - crickets...🤷🏻‍♂️

Posted this on a previous video of yours and believe would be a good method to combat the ticket issues. Affiliate gyms have their own individual code capped at a certain amount. Loyalty scheme for repeat customers to be given first choice of a ticket to next events similar to music festivals. First time competitors to enter the ballot for the remaining tickets.

I’ve said it for a while now. They need to stop you being able to sell on your ticket. You buy your ticket and if Injured etc you can only sell back to hyrox. People from affiliated gyms were selling tickets on straight away. You also see people on Facebook page saying I can’t do it now because of etc etc. just cut all that out and I think that would solve a major issue

Yep or the London marathon rule. No selling on or selling back. If someone races on your entry then you're both banned from entering races in future. Makes people actually only enter if they're going to race and train for it properly.

Very soon, they will have to rethink their league system and then spin out small regional events franchised, and the times recorded and you qualify to more significant events and then majors and ultimately fill the elite 15 in each major

I just do the Polish and Swedish races now. Less hype in these locations. You get a better standard of racing, less influencers trying to film endless content, less congested tracks with none of this ridiculous competing in a giant costume nonsense, easier to gain entry, and just an overall better experience.

I wish I had the freedom to up and go to the foreign events, I only get day release. 2 kids, no money, no time, clearance denied lol - maybe one day

@@martin-boyce I've found doing the Polish races ends up cheaper than the UK. Tickets half the price, flights and hotels way cheaper than trains and hotels in UK.

Martin, How is the ballot going to be fair? There are age group categories.. they could end up with a race of 30-34 yo and only small number of the older of younger age groups. BTW both me and my mate got the email that we missed out at London. If the age groups are in the numbers that you expect to see in a London event it would make me suspicious.

Hi Martin, Would it not be possible to avoid the tout problem if a ticket had to be registered to a particular athlete at the time of purchase? Then if you couldn't use your ticket it should have to be returned to Hyrox to be resold and you would only lose a small fee for administration. Given their high ability with computing during events it surely should be possible for most of this to be done automatically online without participants having to contact those pesky, expensive humans at all.

Sounds a great idea, save having to sell them on the black market risking scammers at every turn. But will a common sense logically sound idea be adopted ... unlikely

Agree with this.. especially when you have to fly and book hotels for every event ☹ Met a couple of nervous lonely souls in Nice recently who were not part of a coaching or gym group or didn't have family with them due to cost of travel etc..
