Attempting the Crossfit 24.1 with Zero Crossfit Experience or Training (Average Athlete Review)

Can your average gym goer complete this years Crossfit Opens 24.1 workout. So this is my first and VERY unofficial attempt at the Crossfit 24.1 workout. This isn't a max speed effort, but rather a cruise through this utterly soul destroying nightmare. I paced myself mainly because it was unofficial, I was on my own and didn't want to injure myself doing repetitive and heavy moves for no reason, even now my lower back is screaming at me for doing this.
The 24.1 workout comprises of the following
21 Dumbbell Snatches (arm 1) (50/35 lb)
21 Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell
21 Dumbbell Snatches (arm 2) (50/35 lb)
21 Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell
15 Dumbbell Snatches (arm 1) (50/35 lb)
15 Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell
15 Dumbbell Snatches(arm 2) (50/35 lb)
15 Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell
9 Dumbbell Snatches (arm 1) (50/35 lb)
9 Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell
9 Dumbbell Snatches (arm 2) (50/35 lb)
9 Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell

Dang that 22.5KG dumbbells is heavy
Make no mistake, I'm not a crossfitter, I have no desire to be, however I do like to sample all types of hybrid fitness tests and challenges. It does come with the bonus of being able to relate to fellow Hybrid athletes who are Crossfitters when this sort of thing comes up in conversation.
I will be attempting 24.2 in the coming days, so ensure you subscribe to see what a hash of that I make... god help me on double unders.
I want to reiterate... this was me just having a go as someone who has never done a Xfit opens before :) - No hate guys I know it wasnt a perfect run.... but ill be damned if I'm ever doing this one again LOL

    As you've already mentioned, technique makes a big difference. A lot of the snatch comes from the hips, which is easy on the arms and also the back, which stays straight. So keep at it. But perhaps you should scale 24.2 a little and use less weight.

    It's only DL IN .2 AND 84KG In 10s will be fine. Double unders tho....oooosssh

    I started with CrossFit but failure at pretty much every single weekly Open, I looked elsewhere and went to Hyrox. Nothing against CrossFit per se, but some stuff is just to technical, especially for us *cough* older people. Murph is still my favourite all round workout however.

    In CrossFit there is always the option to scale to make it acessible to more or less everyone...
