    Hello Pierce, thanks for your clear and concise thermostat replacement video. My "engine light" came on and I took it to a Honda dealership. They told me that my thermostat was staying open and needed to replace. Their cost was $750 ! I decided to replace it myself using your video as a guide. I replaced it easily enough and have added coolant to the system. I took it for a test drive but the "engine light" continues to stay on. What do you do when this happens? Can I reset this light myself or should I take it to another Honda dealership and see if they can decide what's wrong? Thanks, Gary

    Nope. Even with silicon lube, I could not get the rod+grommet in place. All I succeeded in doing was to break the front hold clip, too. Yes, there's a youtube for that, too. Geezus.

    With your guideline I successfully replaced mine on my 13.5 year old NR-180A. There isn't an O ring on the top, and there aren't small screws to remove the heat flow sensor, just one big screw that connects it to the pipe. Other than that it was all the same. One thing I would add, is you can connect hoses to the outlets, direct them to a bucket and prevent a few headaches with trying to catch all of the water that is draining. Thank you

    Thanks for this video! My JDM Honda Fit's rear right door isn't locking/unlocking, and I've determined it's a broken wire. Knowing that there's a connector inside the door pillar and how to pull out the door wiring harness should make the next stage a lot easier.

    the first belt is not a timing belt and you dont need to line up anything with it. you could barrow that tool from an auto parts store you shouldnt even have to take that pulley off. Just slip the belt over and around it, put it around the top pulley, check your timing marks and dont jack you motor up by the oil pan!!You must now that you don't really know what your doing so why are you attempting to to produce a how-to video on something you are unfamiliiar with? The idler puller is what you need to loosen instead of removing the pulley. Oil is suppose to be "pooling" in the hydrolic belt tensioner! Thats what makes it expand! You are lost DUDE

    I have a question and I can’t seem to find the answers on the internet, so I was hoping you can answer it. I’m trying to do a transmission fluid exchange on my 07 RL but all I can find is a transfer case fluid exchange, so my question is, would replacing the fluid on the transfer case be the transmission fluid exchange?

I saw this panel on marketplace and wondered if it would be effective in helping with acne so I started looking for testimonies and found your video. How far away from your face do you have it? Do you actually hold it for 15 mins. like you showed in the video or do you keep it on your desk?

    Great video. Glad your doing ok now. Got PRK 24 days ago. Had low prescription before surgery and got lasik surgery 22 years ago. Also have dry eyes. Vision in one eye good now but not perfect. Vision in other eye still a bit blurred. Only getting close to where my vision was before PRK now. Disappointed it's taking so long for eyes to heal and for vision to improve. Vision at night very blurred. Hoping vision continues to improve.

    Hey hoping your still around. I’m replaying the water pump currently and i’ve gotten everything off except the water pump pulley bolts are on extremely tight. when i try removing either the drive belt on it rotates all the pulleys backwards it doesn’t break the bolts. You mentioned that toyota sells a special tool that hold the water pump pulley do you happen to know that tool name? and also because the pulleys rotates counter clockwise will that mess up the timing? thank you

    OMG, my description has the correct part # but you are right about the actual video. That is my bad and I had NO idea I mixed them in the presentation. My sincerest apologies. I actually called Honda just now to make sure and the description for the video does in fact have the right part # for the proper sides. Thanks for pointing that out and doing your own due diligence. I don't even know if I have the original footage for this video anymore to make the appropriate corrections to the presentation.

    How long can you drive with the coolant thermostat broken??

  • @piercedasian
    @piercedasian22 күн бұрын

    it depends if you have a t-stat that is stuck open or closed. I suspect that if you're still driving the car that its likely stuck open. You COULD in theory drive like that with not much issues if you live in a relatively warm climate but in my honest opinion you're better off fixing it sooner than later for 2 reasons: 1. Emissions. The car will never properly go into closed loop mode so you'll burn more fuel over time b/c the engine will tend to run richer. 2. Lack of proper heat when you need it to heat the car or to defog the windows during moist rainy days. This can be a HUGE safety hazard so this is why I would get this fixed at your earliest opportunity.

    Great video. Good instructions. A steady camera (mount) makes a huge difference. Some of the kits (Fel Pro) come with new seals around the spark plug holes and new rubber seals/washers for the valve cover mount. Good to mention that if the users sees any oil around the coil pack, those gaskets should be replaced as well.

    Adding to the comment below, I replaced the internal check valve and the flow sensor on this NPE-210A. I flushed the toilet and the fan ran anyway until I turned off intelligent preheating using the dip switches. Suddenly I flushed the toilet and it was fine.

    I've had a problem for a number of years that the fan runs on my NPE-210A on any cold water draw after flushing. Then it becomes intermittent and usually it eventually stops after about a month. When I looked it up on the Internet it said the change the internal check valve and possibly the flow sensor. This time when I did the flush, it hasn't stopped and it's been at least 6 weeks. Sometimes the fan comes on when I run the faucet sometimes not but it comes on every time I flush the toilet. Unit doesn't fire but the fan runs. I changed the internal check valve and tomorrow I'm going to change the flow sensor. Thanks for the video on how to do that because it looks fairly simple as was replacing the internal check valve. Once I change the flow sensor and I've changed the internal check valve already, if that doesn't solve the problem I'm not sure what to do. There is an external check valve on the unit that was put on by one of the so called Navien experts in my area. I have to try to do these things myself because both the installers and so-called experts don't know what they're doing. The installer vented the tankless backwards so that the exhaust was on the side of the building close to a window in the intake was on the roof. He also didn't set the dipswitches right for the altitude. So once I change the flow sensor tomorrow if it keeps doing what it's been doing which is running on cold water draws, I'm going to be at a loss as to what to do next. There is a well pump but I have that dip switch turned off because the well pump is on a community well across the street and 450 feet down in the ground. It's always stopped after about a month in the past so I hope changing the flow sensor fixes it.

    In the video you check the gap between .4mm and .5mm but in the text below it says "Honda a/c clutches typically call for a 0.050mm +/- 0.015 mm variance. Anything that falls outside this gap range will result in a clutch that won't engage or one that won't release." 0.050mm is equal to .002" which seems mighty close. I am trying to set the air gap on my 2010 Honda Odyssey Touring after replacing the coil and the clutch kit came with two .020" thick washers and the original washers were each .052" thick. The two thin washers on the new clutch hub and pulley cause them to lock together. What gap should I be trying to achieve?

    For the back bolt remove the injector from the 2 10mm bolts on the injector attaching it to the intake. Watch out for that o-ring. This will free up much needed space for working and actually seeing the bolt for removal. The best tool is a break-neck socket with a 12mm socket. Get a cheap one at harbor freight or where ever. Also, after seating the intake for re-install do not tighten bolts yet, because a little bit of "wiggling" will be needed to reinstall the infamous back-bolt and the other one holding the intake near the throttle body.
