You don’t need to use those. It serves no purpose other than from the factory to hold the rotor during production.

Exactly, there's absolutely no point to them your wheel lugs hold the rotor in place. I hate when I buy a car and see these lil fuckers on there. But at least I know the previous owner always got the car serviced at the dealership so that's a plus I guess.
