Hi😊 I signed up for your m.a.b.e.l. newsletter and it said there was supposed to be a code for 10% off. There is no code in the email. Was wondering if you stopped giving the discount or did it not send the code? Thanks
Hi Debbie--I see that you did sign up. The service I automated, so if you didn't get your email with the code, check your spam. (I know the automation is working as the code is regularly in use).
Wondering what the point of this is? I just can't imagie how this tiny thing is useful? Looks like childs toy and it creates something so tiny! No offense, ma'am - this seems senseless! Cheers
I wanted to buy this and the thread but the shipping to Australia is $72 😕
Let me take a look at that-sometimes Shopify doesn’t have the correct weight associated with the product, and then it’s all wacky.
I adjusted the weight loom, check again to see if it will calculate better.

What do you think is a fair price for a quilt in that condition; mostly intact with a few holes. These caddies are fabulous!
You can get a quilt in fairly decent shape for about $100--the handstitching won't be remarkable, but the fabrics will be fun.
@@m.a.b.e.l Thanks, that was the price point I was comfortable with but have not found yet! I obviously need to keep searching. The ones I have been finding have major damage and they still want $165ish. I come from a family of Mennonite quilters so I notice the quality of hand quilting! You can't fake the age though and that's what is so wonderful.
Love it!
Thank you!

In this video, I delve into the differences between hand-stitching and machine-stitching on a vintage quilt. You'll see close-up examples of both techniques, learn how to identify hand-stitched areas by the small gaps between stitches, and understand the continuous, gapless pattern created by machine stitching. Whether you prefer the charm of hand-stitching or the precision of machine stitching, this video highlights the unique beauty of each method. Perfect for those interested in vintage quilts, upcycling quilts, repurposing quilts, reusing quilts, and working with old quilts.

In this video, watch how I turn a bag made from a vintage quilt inside out using a small hole left during sewing. Although it looks challenging, it's quite simple. After turning it right side out, I close the hole with a sewing machine. This technique is perfect for those looking to repurpose and upcycle old or damaged quilts.
I like the tape guide hack to save time and not have to measure and mark each corner!

But why? It looks like a perfectly good quilt to me. Somebody worked hard on it.
Thank you for your comment and for expressing your concern. I understand and appreciate your perspective. Before I began repurposing quilts, I felt similarly about the value and effort that goes into each piece. However, through my journey of learning about the history and culture of quilting, I discovered that quilting itself has always been a form of repurposing. Historically, people reused and reformed old quilts into new ones or other garments, ensuring nothing went to waste. The quilts I repurpose, often referred to as "cutter quilts," are typically damaged or in such a condition that they would otherwise be discarded. By transforming these quilts, I aim to give them a new life and preserve the craftsmanship that might otherwise be lost. Additionally, I make sure that every piece of the vintage quilts I cut out is reused and not wasted as much as possible. I hope this explanation provides some insight into my approach and the broader tradition of quilting. Thank you again for your engagement and for valuing the hard work that goes into every quilt.
In this video, follow along as we begin sewing the cut pieces of our vintage quilt together. This first half of the sewing process sets the foundation for creating beautiful repurposed items. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more sewing tips and upcycling projects!
Will this also cleanse your smelly panties???
Du kannst Natron soda und Borat zu gleichen Teilen stattdessen benutzen. Ich liebe alte Stoffe und verwende sie oft.
Oh, that's a great tip. Thank you!

I love it! The shape is perfect for a carry-all summer bag! I would love one in a smaller size for everyday use.
That’s a good idea!
The quilt is beautiful! It probably was meant to be a summer spread. The backing is just to protect the reverse of embroidery stitches and tidy it up ! Be very careful if it needs cleaning. I have had some fading of blue work when left a bit too long in an antique fabric wash. The red thread may bleed so use a color catcher with synthrapol .That will release extra dye without staining the white.Dont allow direct sunlight on it ! Its a treasure!
Dye catchers are def a life-saver!! Thanks for the tip abt synthrapol
Great video! So glad I found you.. Loved your baskets, very pretty. I would find it hard to cit up a pretty quilt. I have subscribed and look forward to more videos. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing! I'm thrilled to have you as part of the channel.
Then where and what do you do with the quilt to dry it??? Thank you!!!
Please wait for the next short or watch the full version from my page 😊 thanks for watching my videos ❤
Also, I do put them in my clothes dryer.
I soaked a vintage quilt top in the tub to remove stains and then put it in the washer- on delicate- and dryer. It came out a mess!!! I’ve spent hours cutting threads and many seams frayed and came loose. I’ve tried my best to repair it but the fabrics are thin and worn so it was difficult !! I learned my lesson the hard way. I love your videos. Thank you!!
@@judyschackenberg8711 Oh Judy! What a disappointment that must have been! Quilt tops can be tricking since the seams are raw. Did you use a lingerie bag or pillow case? That might help next time.
