Vintage Quilt Repurposing Challenge 3 of 3 - Sewing
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It's my goal whenever I'm repurposing a quilt to use as much as possible. This quilt was a good candidate for such a challenge--the damage was all torn seams, an easy enough (although time consuming because there were so many) fix. So, how many things can I make from this vintage quilt?
Part III: fixing all the burst seams using an industrial sewing machine
I made Popover x 1, Caddies x 4, Zip Pouches x 2, Coin Purses x 4 out of one Vintage Quilt.

It's always fun to see other people sewing zips the way I do - a too big zip is so much easier to sew in than a smaller one, and cutting it after to fit works so well in pouches like these

Agreed! This was the best piece of advice I got when I first started sewing!
A fascinating video, but-for me-the Muzak is annoying enough it took away from your clear, concise and helpful comments.

I cut 3 sizes: 15”x18”, 13.5” x 16.5” and 12” x 15”
I love what you have made. They are very beautiful. But I have to say it wasn't really a good tutorial for a beginner because the sewing machine was in front of the screen. And I couldn't see what your hands were doing at all. I do not understand all the steps. Maybe shooting from above would be helpful. Thank you for sharing though.Thank you for sharing god bless

Thanks for your comment. Clearly I'm a better sewer than videographer! 😃. I'll keep trying!
