    That is not the Coanda effect, the Coanda effect is the viscous entrainment of fluid by a jet of the same fluid moving through it. What you are describing is call the continuum hypothesis, and it says that a fluid contains no voids, because it they did, there would be a pressure gradient which would force fluid to fill that void. By this logic, a wing could never stall. Also, this is a pseudo ski effect illustration that suggests the molecules of air below the wing bounce off the wing and are forced down. This is also a misconception. Finally, the flow pattern shown with the air flowing downs at the angle of attack would predict that lift is proportional to the sin of the angle (while if molecules bounced off the bottom it would suggest a sin square relationship). Sadly, the coefficient of lift varies linearly with the angle of attack, until stall! Hence, this is falsifiably wrong!

    Total horseshit. The pendulum procession varies as a function of latitude. 24 hours at the poles, no procession at the equator. Procession is clockwise in the northern hemisphere, ccw in the southern hemisphere. The experiment or demonstration done countless thousands of times since the 1850's. Erick doobious counts on his followers to be brainless twits. As you said the answer, no surprise, is no.

    I'm sorry but this is wrong! At 0.49 you say that the pendulum at the North Pole would continue to swing in its plane while the earth beneath it would spin.This is not true because the pendulum has the same rotation speed as the Earth and would rotate with the earth. Instead the movement of the pendulum is justified by the fact that at its maximum height it has a greater distance from the earth's axis and therefore a tangential speed greater than that of the earth

    Bernoulli applies to the flow and pressure of a fluid that travels through a pipe of varying diameters. A sail is an airfoil that produces lift, yet it has exactly the same length on each side. Newton's laws of motion fully explain the pressure differential between the two sides of the sail without any help from Bernoulli. And there is no "constriction" on the lee side of a sail.

  • @aerospacedoctor
    @aerospacedoctor9 сағат бұрын

    Jeffrey, Bernoulli is used in external flows as well. When we teach aero students to first model aerodynamics, we use potential flow with circulation to get the velocity field. We then teach them to get the pressure field by using Bernoulli to convert the velocity at every point in the flow to the pressure at every point in the flow. I have no idea why people, even aero academics, make this claim. Literally look at MATLAB code that does potential flow around an aerofoil, and you will literally see a line of code that is Bernoulli! Also, you appear to be forgetting that air has inertia (mass) and hence takes time to move out of the way, so there are technically constrictions, but this is an effect not a cause. Finally, Newton's laws as written by him and Euler do not explain what is happening, you need the full Navier-Stokes equations.

  • @jeffreyerwin3665
    @jeffreyerwin36657 сағат бұрын

    @@aerospacedoctor Sir, Newton's law says that a body moving wants to to continue that motion unless some outside force is exerted on it. When the airstream encounters the sail, it is pushed by one side of the sail and pulled by the other side which causes a change in the direction of the airsteam. These actions result in a pressure differential. That differential is what we call "lift," and one does not need Bernoulli to explain it.

  • @aerospacedoctor
    @aerospacedoctor6 сағат бұрын

    @@jeffreyerwin3665do note I did not say Bernoulli explains lift. I said even aerodynamicists are taught to calculate a velocity field and then use Bernoulli to convert this to a pressure field. The pressure difference is them integrated to give the lift. Navier-Stokes, the correct version of Newton's 2nd law explains lift, and it is due to viscosity causing a shed vortex and the associated bound vortex around the aerofoil. To be clear, viscous effects result in faster flow over the upper surface and slower flow underneath, then via Bernoulli you can infer a pressure difference.

  • @jeffreyerwin3665
    @jeffreyerwin36656 сағат бұрын

    @@aerospacedoctor Sir, the distances on each side of a sail are exactly the same. therefore no difference in the speed of the airstream on ech side of the sail can be postulated.

  • @aerospacedoctor
    @aerospacedoctor5 сағат бұрын

    @@jeffreyerwin3665 Jeffrey, that is simply not true. You can do simulations and show the difference in velocity. The concept of circulation was well established over 100 years ago. The idea of adding a circulating flow field to the potential flow solution is the standard way this is taught in basic aerodynamics to aerospace engineers. That potential flow solution has a symmetric velocity field, and hence when you add it to the circulating flow, the combined result is faster flow over the top as the flows add together, and slower flow underneath as the flows subtract (a circulating flow is going around the aerofoil). There are countless resources, even the basic wikipedia entry that covers this. What engineers tend to miss in their explanation of this is what is causing the circulation, and that is viscosity.

    You were right about everything...until the last bit about the charts. Kessel is a planet that exists near a large collection of black holes called "The Maw". If you got too close to The Maw, the black holes would drag your ship in and you would be dead. But how close is "too close"? It depended on the mass and speed of your ship. Imperial ships were large and therefore couldn't get as close as the small smuggling ships, which is why the Kessel Run would bring the smuggler as close as was dared to The Maw. But the closer the smuggler gets to the gravity of the black holes, the faster his ship needed to be to escape the gravity. Han Solo's brag was NOT a mistake; he was saying his ship was fast enough to shortcut the Kessel Run down to only 12 parsecs (i.e. closer than anyone else) and still escape The Maw's gravity.

    This only proves the earth is non-rotating and flat. Take this from the manufacturer, Academy Pendulum Sales. This can be found on their website under "For Architects: Design Specifications" pdf Each pendulum kit contains the following; 2, A magnet drive system to keep the ball in motion. 3, An electronic control system to operate the magnet, and control the swing distance of the ball. The control system contains two parts. The control panel and the logic panel. (Electricity) My comment: This device requires a an electromagnet with a logic controller to keep the pendulum swinging. This "pendulum" only proves the earth is flat and non-rotating. The magnetic "drive system" keeps the ball rotating in motion and "SIMULATES" the earths rotation. FAKING the earths rotation is what it is actually doing. Thus the complicated cone rotating drive system. Under "Troubleshooting Guide": "Pendulum control adjustments:" Start the ball swinging and turn on the power, meter and tone switches. A tone will sound whenever the ball passes the center of the pit (as power is then applied to the magnet)." "The Amplitude Control should be adjusted to obtain the swing distance desired. Be sure the swing is far enough for the armature O’rings to contact the magnet. " "Pendulum swing gets shorter and shorter then stops. It is important for the armature O’rings to contact the magnet at the end of each swing. Failure to make contact will cause the pendulum to slow and eventually come to a stop." 🤣😢

    No sorry. The Gyrocompass uses the rotation of the earth to find true north. AND Most modern aircraft test the onboard fiber-optic gyros before a flight by: MEASURING EARTH ROTATION. Now go back and finish high school so you can come up to speed with the rest of society.

    So explain all the non "powered" pendulums. Explain how the period of the precession varies as a function of latitude. All you've shown is that you're too dim to read an operation manual.

    What about the homemade ones? A teacher in my school showed my brother how this works with a bowling ball.

    Observation virtually collapses the statistical wave function of the electron and reduces it to a particle. It's as if the electrons feel the will to keep themselves in a certain position... Now move on to quantum...

    I grew up on a sailboat and my dad always taught me to point my nose into the sea highways (the lines made by wind pushing on the water). I always used the water to determine where my nose should be and how to adjust my sail. explaining that to ANYONE never made sense, but now I can just show them this haha

    Yes, yes, yes, the airplane is “ lifted” airborne not sucked airborne. Newton’s 2nd and 3rd laws apply.
