vedic method - see this is 23/47 greater or 28/53 ? 23 is less than half of 47 and 28 is more than half of 53 hence 28/53 is greater i can see that 43 is around 5 times or 4 times as much as 215, so 43 X 5 is around 200, now 53 is around 5 times as much as 235, 53 X 5 is around 250. so 53 is more than a fifth of the denominator and 43 is less than a fifth of the denominator, hence 53/ 235 is greater
