How to Multiply and Divide with Significant Figures

We just finished a video on what significant figures are and how to count them. But what good is that, unless you can do some actual calculations with them. The important point to remember is that the result is only as good as the initial measurement. If you have an imprecise measurement somewhere in your calculation, no amount of multiplication or division will change that fact. Kind of like how when you’re looking through a group of windows, your vision is only as clear as the dirtiest glass. So when you multiply or divide with significant figures, you ll have to make sure that your final calculation doesn't misrepresent the accuracy of your initial measurements. FYI the rules for identifying the weakest link and matching the amount of precision is different depending on whether you add/subtract or multiply/divide. As to the reason why, stay tuned and find out.
