I’m a butler ❤ you explained it perfectly
Do you have any tips for driving? Although I have some experience in driving. It seems this new position will request more of it, I just want to do an excellent job
No, sorry. That's not my area of expertise.
Thank you for the information. Currently in the process of getting hired for a houseman position with estate management capabilities. I really appreciate your videos
Best of luck!
Great video. I just started a new estate project and am learning a lot.
Super helpful
HI Thank you for the great content you’re creating. Do you have any tips and advice for couples looking for their next position and what are the things principals are looking for in these positions.
I don't have any specific advice, but I know it's a tricky situation when a couple has all of their eggs in one basket.
This is now my 3rd year being a House Manager. After my 13yrs of experience from hospitality. I found this job greater ever. I know it happened cause mashallah,,, my principals are really great people…!!!!
There are very few online resources snd videos about family assistants. I watched a couple of your videos but it is apparent that your target audience is a wealthy client with large estates. Do you have any suggestions for an entrepreneur mom who needs help with household duties and personal assistant?
I'm unclear if you're looking for resources or placement, but I suggest networking through the PA Network and Bonnie Low Kramen. They are both great resources for the hybrid role that you are describing. Best of luck to you!
How do I go about hiring or know where to look for a house hold manager?
Hi! I would normally suggest finding a domestic staff recruiter (I have a list of agencies I can recommend); however, it depends on where you're located and if you're willing to relocate the right candidate. If you'd like to receive my free resources, please email me at [email protected].
Invaluable feedback! Thank you so much!!!
Hello Kelly! I recently encountered your channel and it has been an absolute blessing, thank you for sharing your wisdom! Question, I am looking to transition from CEO in the hospitality industry to a long term career in house management. Is there a resource to help best prepare, present me as a great candidate, and help me find a job?
Hi Debora, there's no easy answer for you here. Check out all of my website's free resources and ensure that it feels right, then consult a resume writer for the best start. You might have luck with an entry EA position as a starter, but I'm not sure you'd be happy with the pay. Anyway, like I said, not an easy answer.
@@EstateManagementSystems thank you very much your help and prompt responce Kelly! I'll be sure to apply your advice into my career preparation and job search. Thanks again!
Hi there! I am a House Manager looking for a new role due to one of the children unfortunately abusing me. I watched a lot of your KZread videos, and wanted to know if I can send you my resume for your feedback on it? I have applied to many jobs recently but have not had many emails back. Thank you!
I apologize! I'm just now seeing your comment. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to provide resume consultations. I would recommend www.linkedin.com/in/donnashannon/.
This sounds like a reading exercise.
I’m in a 90 day now. We shall see.
How did it go?
I found the information you shared here very useful. Thank you so much!
Thank you this is EXCELLENT. It is so refreshing for someone to speak with intention without fillers and sidelines. Top tier info 🤌🙏
Wonderful channel!
Hello Kelly , I would love to receive your regular estate / house management emails please . Absolutely love your videos !
Hi! What about if my domestic couple also do residential security? How does it work if I allow them to take some time off or go on a getaway?
Hire a second shift! Remember, it's WORK (even if they live on the property), and no one should be required to be on call 24/7/365!
@@EstateManagementSystems Thank you! I did consider that, I’ll have a look for a part time security guard for 12/14 hour shifts. I just want as least staff as possible due to privacy.
Yes, agreed. 100%. But please consider the lives of the people who work for you and their personal lives and privacy. Everyone deserves that. I suggest hiring contract security to work once a month (or whatever is appropriate) so you have maximum coverage and security. Best to you!
@@EstateManagementSystems Of course! I haven’t started the hiring process yet but I will definitely consider their privacy and lifestyle. I want it to be easy for all of us, so I’ll be asking them how they are used to doing things before anything. I plan to get them a car for duty and personal use too. Thank you for your advice, your channel is great🫶🏽
Pet care?
Sorry...what about it?

Hi Kelly, Thanks for the great advice. How do I access your Resume Wow service? I am a construction manager who has built very high spec homes and am wanting to become a client representative and project manager for a principal with multiple properties in USA and New Zealand. Are you able to refer me to recruiters that specialize in these positions?

THE NETHERLANDS!!! YOU ROCK!! So excited for you and this amazing experience! 😍
This video is very timely as well as informative. As many may now be aware, strong storms have been hitting parts of Colorado in the last few days as well, driving home to me the importance of having a comprehensive emergency plan that is customized for your area and your household. There are a few thoughts that occurred to me as I watched. To the extent that it is practical to do so, it may be a good idea to do occasional "dry runs" or "exercises" of your plans under hypothetical situations over 2 or 3 days, rather like doing a very long fire drill. This will help point out any holes or opportunities for improvement in those plans. You remembered to put some canned food in the pantry, but do you have a non-electric can opener? An exercise will make it embarrassingly obvious if you don't. Also, try keep in the back of your mind as you go through your normal daily routines,"How would this task be impacted if [plausible emergency] were to happen and how could those impacts be mitigated?" But don't obsess about these thoughts to the point of becoming paranoid either. It is not healthy for preparedness to become paranoia. You mentioned getting to know your neighbors. I absolutely agree. In my mind, the importance of this point cannot be overstated. In any emergency that affects a broad area, it is vital that families and individuals help each other out. Many hands make light work. And if you would want your neighbor to give you a helping hand, it is only right that you be prepared to help them when the need is there. I am enjoying this series quite a bit. I look forward to future episodes.
Love the added comments here!! In theory, we all think we're prepared, but living through this is an entirely different conversation. Mentioning the manual can opener is incredibly important if you can't open the dang soup can :-)/ Thanks for adding to the conversation!
I love your videos and I'm fairly new to this industry as a career and you're teaching me so much.
Music to our ears!!
What degree is required? I went to boarding school and college with a lot of well to do kids and I have enough experience deaing with them that I will excel at this.
Estate Managers typically need a wide range of experience from project management, mechanical knowledge, housekeeping standards, service and culture, HR, leadership, etc. Each homeowner is different. Some require a college degree, and some do not. There are butler schools; however, none specific to what an estate or house manager does. Best of luck to you!
Very important insight! Thank you always for your wisdom and sharing it with us!
Thanks for listening!
What a find today! I am on the journey of pursuing the right home management environment as a personal assistant. After not having great direction in knowing if a particular environment is a good fit, I'm thrilled to have found your channel and resources. I can't wait to learn all that I can in landing the most suitable environment where I can flourish, and create a great experience for future clients. Many thanks!!! Christen
So happy that you found us!!! I hope it's helpful information.
Hi Kelly, I’m not sure if this is the right video to ask you in, but I recently just got a job that I enjoy very much, I was hired on as a houseman; to make sure the house in running smoothly, you know daily duties of exterior and interior cleaning, and so far its been a great week up till today. So the first couple of days I got to meet the staff; and since the beginning the main Gardner and main house keeper has expressed their thoughts on a new gardener, mentioning that he smokes, and that he drinks on site. And they seemed a bit stressed regarding the situation, and it looks like work is not being done due to the fact that the main gardener doesn’t want to communicate with the new one. When I was first hired my principals told me to make sure communication is key; and to go to them if I had any concerns, personally I try to avoid any issues at work and I just stick to my self and focus on my tasks, but I’ve always thought that the fastest way to get rid of your good workers is to tolerate the bad ones… so I took it upon my self to mention the issues staff was having with each other… the only thing Is- I’m not sure if I should of stayed out of jt, deep down I feel like I should of since I am new and I have only been there a week. But the housemaid and gardener were persistent and asked me if I could talk to them. This job will do wonders for me, it’s a great opportunity. And I don’t know if I just blew my chances… is there any advice you can provide regarding this matter: It would be greatly appreciated if I could get advice from you, someone very experienced in the field. I’m sure you’ve had your share of experience dealing with this like this… did I mess up?

Love it. Spot on.
Kelly, absolutely love your keen eye for issues and clear and charming way of presenting them! May your words not only hit the ears of principals but also of every corporate senior manager🙂
