Recently I found your KZread channel and I find all the info you share very helpful. I believe that even though we work with and for the principals either as estate manager or personal assistant sharing personal preferences from the beginning might not be that helpful. In my case, working for residential property management and being a subcontractor I happen to know the principal through their house manager, started helping them with kids transportation and then I end up going through each and every vendors bids, invoices etc. Saved him probably millions in just 2-3 years. I was offered the estate manager and did it for 7 years alongside with General Contractor doing all his renovations on the side. His hobbies, his preferences, lifestyle in general was completely different. If he had known my hobbies and lifestyle through an interview I wouldn’t have passed the interview in a million years. I’m too conservative when it comes to certain rules. He’s very easy going with family friends and people he trusts. But while around him, I respect the position and I must do my job, my job doesn’t affect my life but at the same time we need to adapt and have that flexibility. The thing is that even in a family there are different types of personalities but they get along perfectly. In an ideal job application putting in the resume or discussing these personal preferences since the beginning will be a perfect match. But I still believe that the boss needs to know some sides of the personality and character but not to that extent like who’s your role model in management industry or business. I had a friend who liked the way Trump spoke about how he runs his business. His boss was liberal and that affects his work relationship even though the employee has no connection with certain politicians or doesn’t even vote them.

What if I have no experience as a Executive assistant/house manager, to run a household for a UHNW Client and their family of 5 (plus a dog). Staff includes a housekeeper, a family assistant and 2 nannies??

Yes, I did it through mutual connections as a landscape designer and contractor for very high-net-worth families. But you must ask yourself why THEY aren't using a recruiter. Are they too frugal to spend the money on professional recruitment? RED FLAG. Have previous candidates been unsuccessful due to a toxic work environment? RED FLAG. Is the role unsustainable? RED FLAG.

Is there any placement fee must be paid by candidate after she/he secured the position?
