    I visited Tempio Station in early June. Sadly little activity, just a train on Sundays to Luras. Hopefully the section to Arzachena will reopen this October

    Track reminds me of my 1953 christmas present. A shop window Triang double track display layout on a 7 ply base. It came witha PrincessElizabeth loco in green with 2 blood and custard coaches.

    Que tiempo aquel! Se intentó tener ese medio de transporte sobre rieles, aunque rústico era muy agradable y bonito. Paisaje de naturaleza poco trajinada, aire puro, sitios hermosos. No dejaron continuar este proyecto, que por lo menos llevaba algo de alegría a esos caseríos. Ahora hicieron una dizque CICLOVIA, con inversiones millonarias, donde otra vez se ve el abandono por la falta de mantenimiento. Nunca hubo una politica de recuperación del ferrocarril como tal, que sería el resurgir de todas esas estaciones hasta Girardot o Neiva, incluso. ¡Que malos esos dirigentes que nos han gobernado!. Hay obras que perduran en el tiempo, como el túnel de Sebastopol, testigo mudo de la grandeza e ingeniería de esa época, sin tanta tecnología y ahí está, enterito. Una obra de arte.

    La estación de hoja blanca bella como siempre lo fue, ahora destruida desmantelada todo después de su reconstrucción que le hizo Rafael CORREA PRESIDENTE ,volvió hacer abandonado el ferrocarril y esta estación lo dejaron solo paredes los delincuentes, lo desmantelaron todo a raíz de que el gobierno de un delincuente LLAMADO LENIN MORENO acabo destruyéndole el ferrocarril que fue restaurado y sacado de las cenizas por Rafael Correa en el año 2008..

    This was part of a tour of all the narrow gauge lines in Sardinia arranged by the Railway Touring Company in 2002. I would imagine they would have had to make arrangements a long time in advance.

    Thats very interesting, glad you liked the video. It was one of my all time favourite railway journeys. Have you seen my other videos about the rest of the trip. It is so sad that after spending so much time and money to restore the railway from Duran to Quito it has closed again. Es muy interesante, me alegro que te haya gustado el vídeo. Fue uno de mis viajes en tren favoritos de todos los tiempos. ¿Has visto mis otros videos sobre el resto del viaje? Es muy triste que después de gastar tanto tiempo y dinero en restaurar el ferrocarril de Durán a Quito se haya cerrado nuevamente.

    My hasn't Horsted grown since the 1970s. I remember when the end of track was a sleeper and red lamp under Horsted House Farm Bridge.

    Because of the curve in the track and the train coming in the other direction the cart was not visible for a long time so I do'nt think that at that speed the driver could have stopped the train in time. Debido a la curva en la vía y al tren que venía en la otra dirección, el vagón no fue visible durante mucho tiempo, así que no creo que a esa velocidad el conductor hubiera podido detener el tren a tiempo.

    The line is 3ft gauge and does operate but only for freight traffic

    Dear Neil. I'm very exicted with this video because I was part of that trip to Villapinzón. Very few people in Colombia have had the opportunity of doing this non conventional trips. When this happened, I was doing my studies, and during the trip I decided to do my final work to graduate talking about why colombians trains system colpased. I have a lot of memories and anecdotes of that trip. Thaks for sharing it.

    What a nice video. Thanks for sharing it. It reminds me a lot the good times of Turistren when they used the steam locomotives. I used to travel on the train, or many times persecue it in my bicycle or in my car. Many things have changed since when you recorded the video. Since some years ago, the steam enginees are only used for Christmasts trains. Eduardo Rodríguez, who was the guy who restored the passanger coaches and the locomotives, died in 2022, he was the owner of the company. Since some months, Turistren does not operates from the Estación de la Sabana. Since pandemic, the train does not stops in Cajicá.

    Thanks for your comment, I have subscribed to your channel. I knew they used the steam engines less now but did not know that the owner of of the company had died, that is very sad as he was a great supporter of steam and railways in Colombia. Why have they moved from Sabana station, their repair workshops are there, will they be able to return? Hopefully they have somewhere safe to store the locomotives and coaches.

    @@trianghornby Turistren moved from the Estación de la Sabana to "Kilómetro 5". I don't know if you remember where Kilómetro 5 is; it was and it is still where the cargo trains stop. They had to move because the old line between Estación Sabana and Kilómetro 5 is going to disappear, and a modern tram or train system is going to be built, with a new line. This includes a railway with a new gauge. So they had to move to a new home with a renovated workshop.

    Yes i think it was many years before that steam engines were used on this line, in 2003 the track was only good for autoferros.

    Melihat dalam video ini mengingatkan di Indonesia di tahun 70 an dimana masih ada locomotif uap batubara yang masih berjalan , cuma sekarang sudah tidak ada lagi di Indonesia . Yang ada hanya untuk wisata dan di gunakan di pabrik gula tebu sebagai pengangkut tebu itu saja lokomotif uap yang kecil .

    Yo estuve este día montado en el tren. Recuerdo que el viaje se planifico para ir a Hershey pero el despacho no dejo porque tenían una telegrama que decía que los equipos rodantes con Caja de aceite no podían rodar por línea central, y como la locomotora tenía que coger de Enlace del Gas a Enlace de cuadra por línea central a tomar línea Hershey no dejaron y ustedes decidieron no perder el día y dar el viaje a Osvaldo Sánchez. Buenos recuerdos que no volverán.❤❤❤❤❤
