A RTC Diesel charter from Terni to Sulmona, 118 km or 73 miles, with FS Breda Class D.343 Bo-Bo 343.2004 (1967) on 12-06-2003. It should have been a steam charter but Gr.740 2-8-0 740 160 had developed a hotbox and the other available engine 740 144 was banned because it had started a lineside fire earlier in the tour.
The scenic nature of the line made up for it a bit, from Terni it climbs 859 metres or 2818 feet to the highest point at Sella di Corno (989 metres, 3245 feet) and then drops down 584 metres or 1916 feet to Sulmona.
