45 going 46 this year. Have 4 kids youngest being 1.5 yrs old. What age do you think I can retire .. hmmm. If one wants to retire early, then don’t have kids, better still don’t get married. No financial responsibilities. Any way I made the choice and no regrets. I’ll probably retire at a later age but I think I’ll be fine :)

I prefer VUG (55% Mag7) or MGK (60% Mag7) ETFs as compared to MAGS due to a relatively lower expense ratio and some diversification other than the Mag 7.

my colleague retires at 58yo with comfortable retirement savings. Her plan is to travel once every quarter to enjoy life. Less than 2 years later, she told me every trip tires her and she needs more time to rest and recharge her energy. Age is catching up and no matter how much money one has, energy will still decline.

Hi Josh, for Choc Finance even though 4.2% interest is guranteed, but capital is not guranteed right and subject to market fluctuations?? I saw disclaimer saying this.

  • @joshconsultancy

Hi, the underlying fund can fluctuate but they will top up to 4.2% return (capital + interest). If funds do more than the 4.2% they keep the extra returns.

The final retirement could be determined by your old and sick single parent who have dementia if you’re the caregiver. Many single parent doesn’t like to stay in nursing or old folks home and somehow many lost contact with their children due to various reasons. Singapore is fast catching up with Japan on lonely death.

Uncle josh, please any thoughts on that? Plus the inflation will continue, do we have enough, if we don't? Japan oredy got single elderly who are not well off.
