I want to encourage the dad in the video. It’s easier said than done, but ignore noises and nasty comments, especially so when they dont contribute to your family income. Jiayou!

He is taking care of the family. Can't believe people are so unkind. He should be praised for sacrificing himself and having the humility to make the sensible decision of letting his wife work. If anything, he is more dignified than some stay-at-home parents.

This video is fantastic. How many dads will stay home to full on take care of his son. He also faced all the criticism. It is not easy to take care of your son that is facing health issues. Good job and bravo to him.

to add on to josh's tips on starting a taichi youtube channel. if his son is interested to get involved, he could possibly inherit the channel from dad in the future, which may help alleviate anxiety on son's future income source.

You play with the cards u dealt with,be it $6K or $10K, what about others facing the same situations n making much less? With a big decision such as this, the couple weighs their pros n cons n come to a decision. One of my friend who’s daughter has Down syndrome decided to quit work n look after her n that’s in the 80s where there’s no support of this illness from the Sg Gov in terms of schools etc etc n he was in his early 30s. He is 70+ now n still looking after her fortunately he became a millionaire investing in stocks in the 90s. He sold his landed property in Sg for $3.8M a few years ago n bought a $1.1 M condo. Life dealt him a good set of cards….😂😂😂😂

10K income per month do you infer nett or before cpf & tax payables (giro)?

Not as a hard rule James. Just a suggestion. Median household income in SG with CPF is around $10k. I believe, with experience on the ground, that below that, its hard to save for a couple retirement

The husband staying home definitely make a lot of sense since wife is making higher income and also get lots of tax exemption from working mum child care relief. Man don't get much child tax relief. This is such out-dated tax relief when it is so normal for woman /wife to be working nowsday. Such tax relief should be shared among the couple instead.

The family with double income the children may have no bonding with one of the parent, which suppose to be example to them. The children are closer to the maid or grandparents which may spoil them.

I'm very agreed with the husband's sacrifice. you don't expect a paid in maid to do beyond that what is in their own flat/house, do you? how about the wife? can she drive her son around, talk to the doctor make decisions regarding finance and medical decisions. cannot right?
