Square and PS need to get the heck out of Cali. It's Effing up their brand.
The exclusivity is the issue
When he’s like like omg that’s my reaction when I see any of the characters 3rd combo string I’m pretty sure I legit don’t have any character past the 3rd combo string
I was about to buy the ps5 for rebirth but after I saw the horrible picture quality/low fps and worse lighting than remake I decided to wait for the pc version. What annoyed me the most is that I couldn't watch any streams because of this dogsh*t exclusivity
Man I miss when legacies had gameplays, this video is a blessing
dude i didnt even know they relased part 2 until your review came out
Making past the 5th ermac combo I’ve never seen any of the characters on the entire roster 4th combo string unless it was someone else playing it jesus I gotta stop wanting to play these games and give them up
Spot on take. Game dev and marketing is stupidly expensive these days. Reducing your audience pool with exclusivity during a period when console uptake and cost of living are at their worst is a recipe for dissapointment...Remake and other titles benefitted from the PS4's larger install base and all the hype that came from people having an extra 2 hours in their day to play and talk about games. Post pandemic there is none of that. Clearly a lot of people are stressed, money tight and just don't have the mental capacity or free time to get excited for a video game. If kids aren't coming home from school and begging their parents for a copy of Rebirth then we have a sustainability problem.
My guy said basic shit Jesus I’ve been playing fighting games my whole life only to realize how out of grasp with these games I am I legit can’t make it past the 3rd combo strings in the practice my main reptile I literally only probably use him to like 10% of what he’s actually capable of doing i just don’t have the brain to finger connection the fighting games require and it’s honestly depressing enough to be like yeah add this to my 13th reason why list 😂 maybe one day I’ll have descendent who can pull of the cool shit you all can do
I wish part 3 (and previous ones) could come out on Xbox, but, alas, the contract probably still holds
Maybe Final Fantasy brand (outside XIV) isn't strong enough anymore to sell console. Maybe it's time for other IP's like Dragon Quest, Star Ocean to shine again.
It took 120 hours to complete the story and I was still missing some missions (The Final Gilgamesh Battle), this game makes me want to play NG+ but I'm holding off on it because I got games in the backlog but Rebirth is definitely worth the time dude
Ok that Kazuya at 26:21 was godlike, goddamn-
I assume Octopath II and other HD-2D games are part of this list? I really enjoyed OT2, but it also seemed like the release was super quiet. At least, from my perspective.
Akuma was evidently experimenting with umbrella and not the other way around
I always lol when Max yells out: "COMPLICATED WIRE!" during that throw. The name's already absurd, but made hilarious as a Max battle cry. 🤣🤣
This is the ONLY game that will make them money.
Rebirth is getting review bombed now
Honestly without exclusives there's absolutely no reason to own a ps5, I didn't buy the new Xbox because of that reason. So if sony loses exclusives their console becomes obsolete.
I also think grandmas aren't buying games for their grandkids for 70 bucks and pick the cheaper options instead. Might sound dumb but where most peoples money is at is trying to buy groceries and bills and that 10 bucks difference makes a difference for a lot of folks.
TEKKEN 8 TEKKEN 8 🫡
i disagree and i think the exclusivity isn't entirely the problem and wouldn't have helped that much in the long run, most square games that are coming lately are so bland sanitized bs there's 0 risks taken with them and i think it shows, say what you want about stellar blade but it's a ps exclusive and it's made bank and it came out almost at the same time ff7 rebirth came out, also most of the games that were exclusive on ps have been released on pc as well and they aren't selling there either, i don't like exclusivity either but i don't think it's the main reason square games aren't selling, i think the best strategy moving forward for square would be to make games that offend people who live in California lol :)))
Want to see Raging Demon on Nemesis 😂. This better be cannon to Akuma
Sorry for the automatic translation. There was no mention of poor sales of FF7 Rebirth and FF16 at Square Enix's financial results meeting. The reporter named Takashi Mochizuki is extremely notorious for spreading fabricated news and bad reviews against Square Enix and SIE's works. You can find out the reputation of this reporter by searching for Takashi Mochizuki from Bloomberg.
SEnix entering the 5 stages of Grief..
For anyone struggling with this boss, TRUST ME parrying is the way to go, I never learned how to parry in this game so he was literally my teacher as most of his moves can be so easily parried. Once you get the timing for his animations right, I swear to god, the bosses health just vanishes from the amount of critical hits you do. I can now effectively beat him easily and it almost looks like I'm even bullying him for the torture he has put me through before I learned parrying. For knights like this guy, if ever in doubt, just try to learn parry animations, the monster like enemies are the only tough ones cause it's kind of hard to gauge when something hits you if somethings a big monster
Im someone who enjoyed and bought up a lot of those double A releases (especially all the HD-2D games). Sad they probably won't be making any more
SE tend to treat PC as a second class citizen. Awful ports 2-3 years later and in case of Remake or Kingdom hearts send them to a C Tier exclusivity deal to die. I absolutly believe, that Gaming PC have a bigger install base in Japan than the PS5 does. PC Gaming has been everywhere since i have been to japan first time in 2011. Now the tech centers are nothing but PC Gaming. I think SE missed the boat on that and lost a lot of good will PC Gamers had for them (for no reason really). Since Remake came out, the landscape has shifted again...drastically so. PC now are handheld too. Once Rebirth is out, your audience can play Rebirth on the go. If this doesn't sound like a major Pro i don't know what does. I also think it was a major mistake to not have ANYTHING on offer for your Final Fantasy PC audience when Rebirth released to huge Fanfare and amazing Reviews. All they had for them was a 3 month exclusivity and a more relaistic autumn release date. Maybe iam a bad marketing guy but i think it would have been cool for SE to go "Here is 16 maybe that can carry you over until Rebirth". Instead it's "Here is nothing fuck you, buy a PS5. Please be excited".
Steve match was awesome
Where's DQ 3 2D-HD?
Lets be honest. Square expect always too much, replace the shitty execs for more capable people instead of cutting off the game devs
Honestly for the better, I prefer games like balan wanderland and forspoken and games like these to be cancelled they are a waste of money anyways
FF7 could be it's own developer/publisher
Enix need to do away with their ethics department and far-left/neo-Marxist DEI infection. Sony America (Commiefornia) need to stop censoring East Asian games that daren't follow the neo-Marxist DEI protocol. Sony also need to stop banning games in 170 countries suddenly. FF7 won't do well on xbox but will on Nintendo and PC.
Star Ocean 2 remake is one of the best remakes i have ever played. And cant speak for PS5 Valkyrie Profile but the Lenneth psp port for PS4 is still amazing
While yes, exclusivity is bad, no doubt, I do think the greater issue won't change, that being the unsustainable investment required to make modern AAA titles, especially coupled with overall inflation shrinking most people's disposable income (and I'm not even talking about the horrendous working practices and lack of worker protection, especially in the US, this is just from a consumer perspective). These massive titles cost astronomic amounts of money to produce, and need to be borderline record-breaking hits to recoup, much less make profit, which, regrettably, is the only thing these companies truly care about (not talking about the devs). I really wish we could stop chasing ever-greater visual fidelity and explore the vast stylistic possibilities already presented to us. We obviously still get great stuff, but I'm genuinely concerned or the health of the industry. Feels like something is going to break sooner or later. I hope we all come out for the better out the other side.
I mean, I would love to get a PS5 and play Rebirth. The problem is, there's thing thing called MONEY. Some of us just can't foot spending half a grand before sales tax, on a console and I won't pretend I'm some kind of expert, but the games library for these newer consoles outside of say, a few games, just isn't that appealing, or so it feels. Shit is expensive nowadays; my groceries and commuter faire clean me out every month, not to mention car upkeep, rent, etc. I'm not the only one dealing with that. Lots of folks also aren't able to buy-in, even when they back the brand.
I think one great news a lot of people did not notice though is no mentioning of NFT or crazy stuff like that, at all. SE is definitely restructuring in the past several years. Will see what happen...👀
The special ending was so fucking good
Hopefully FF7 comes to Xbox
The Nina match is Tekken ranked in a nutshell. Defense is so scary in this game that people would rather keep attacking at any cost than risk losing their turn. Finishes every string, crouch jabs, heat burst as soon as Max gets his turn back. Sad thing is this actually works all the way up to blue ranks.
This is Hardas vision apparently
I think that FFVII Part 3 is still going to come out on the PS5 as a timed exclusive, just as Remake did and just as Rebirth currently is. I think it may be one of the veryblast to be released by Square Enix in that way.
I played FF7 Remake, thought it was okay. Didn't bother getting Rebirth because I primarily play on Xbox. If it had come out on Xbox I definitely would've gotten it just because. If they released a Trilogy bundle once they're all done for Xbox, I'd pay it in a heartbeat. Same with Forspoken, wasn't hyped about it, but if it had come to Xbox, I would have at least tried it.
FF7 R should be in xbox
This Remake project has been a terrible experience thus far. Too much filler content that could've been taken out, too much bullshit added to the story because Nomura got into the glue again. Memorable moments being changed because reasons. Don't know how any legitimate FF7 fan can say it has been a good experience when it has been desecrated.
the side quests in remake and rebirth were there to help build the characters and environments. In remake the side quest was there to show cloud is becoming a merc that will help people. and it is also doing that in rebirth and other stuff liking fighting and unlocking gilgamesh , and showing what happened to other characters like wedge The mini games like the og are optional
The whispers and the arbiter of fate in remake was the will of the planet . The planet wanted things to remain the same because it survived but humanity was wiped out or became extinct ( Refering to og ending with red with his family with no humanity in sight 500 years into the future . ) . When the team defeated the arbiter of fate it allowed sephiroth and aerith to have more control over the whispers . Aerith saved zack through the whispers ( her will ) which created new reality that is within the planet where he is alive ( dream world or lifestream world ) In remake Sephiroth traveled to the past through the lifestream ( the lifestream contains memories, knowledge and emotions of those who past away past, present and future) and aerith sent her memories to her past self through the lifestream At the end of remake sephiroth opened a portal to the spiritual form of the lifestream ( where the arbiter of fate was ) . We have seen this form of the lifestream in advent children ( cloud talking to aerith) , crisis core ( zack standing over a pool of water ) and rebirth ( where sephiroth was explaining the multitude of worlds that are within the planet, where aerith was guiding zack with the follow the yellow flowers and where cloud, zack and aerith vs sephiroth)
For me it has been an amazing experience
When referring to aerith death it is to show aerith is trying to protect his sanity when telling him it's ok in lifestream spiritual form . And when referring to the ending I feel cloud is aware that she is in the lifestream but doesn't accept that she is dead . He aware that he saved her ( "I saw what u did for me back there. Thank u. " then cloud said thank me later) she is dead in the main reality ( spiritually alive like og and advent children ) and alive in the new reality or dream world ( similar to zack's situation ) but she can exist in both . I do think in part 3 he is going to have to learn to accept her death and everything else
Square Enix is like those asian parents who are extremely upset with their kid for only getting an A instead of A+.
Oh yea, when you tell them you program in C++, they will ask why don't you program in A++? 😏
Been said this franchise is in trouble 15 was trash 16 was a poor mans devil may cry Remake was a cash grab and rebirth although being better than remake its not so much better its worth me dropping $600 on a PS5 then $70 on this game like thats ludicrous
Nobody remembers Neo The World Ends With You. That series is dead. I feel bad that square has made so many mistakes recent releases
The stunned silence with the tsumaki is so good
Offering IP across a range of entertainment experience can be interpreted as "OK, we are going to release game to XBOX and PC simultaneously" or "OK, we are going to make game that can run on both consoles and smartphones" or "OK, we are going release games that allow us to sell concert tickets for people to watch voice actors dancing".
