She cracked open rising thunder in a weekend after people were trying to do it for years, she's making an entire versus engine in UE5, she modded in a rough version of replay takeover into strive, and on top of that she modded in sin, Goku, and Android 18 all into strive because she could. No one does unreal modding like her and she's by far the best person to have on this job

You know what, Max? You're not just helping the community by essentially funding projects like Rin's. You're giving hope to the idea that we were all told as kids, that following your passion is worth it, and that if people see you working hard for a worthy cause, they'll notice. A LOT of our generation that got told that, feel like it was a lie. Something we were told by our idealistic parents, who may have been a bit out of touch, or naive. What you're doing is important. You're proving that it wasn't. This is why I think you won that award, and why your channel has always done so well, and why you have so many dedicated fans. You're a role model for what a good dude is in 2024, and you bring people together in a profound kind of way by being true to yourself, and your values in a time where a lot of people are very far apart physically, and emotionally. For those that missed the live stream this video is from. The entire night was just spent looking over what could be changed in MVCI alongside the visual style: music, UI, character art, character selection etc. He also looked over sick combo clips, old gameplay streams and talked with some MVCI heads to see what gameplay balances could be POSSIBLY changed in the future.

I was thinking the exact same. I really like the gameplay of MVCI. Plus playable Sigma and X finally dude. That is all I ever asked for in UMVC3. 2v2 was just icing on the cake.

There is no need to go and buy the game now when we don't know what will happen to this mod, so it makes sense that some people may be cautious about it. I know it's been a long time since mvci dropped but, and maybe this is just me, i don't think mistakes like whatever happened to mvci should be rewarded. Just buy the game when it goes on sale (which happens often) or pirate it to try the mod when it releases. If something you should try to support the guy that it's making the mod first and foremost.

This is fantastic, and would be really cool if it’s a stepping stone to Max eventually directing his own fighting game.

Just today I saw your 6 year old video about how the MVCI situation was very sad and a big loss. It was quite heartbreaking to be frank, even after 6 years x) But seeing all of this makes me so happy. I'm not even a MVC player, but seeing such passion, skill and care put into this is amazing. Can't wait to see it grow. I'm sure it's going to be a big thing

This is really beautiful to see. I love how much people care for this series and I’m glad it is still so popular despite the lack of support.

This is how directing and being a boss I’d say is best, where you say , “IDK how this works but I trust my employers know more than I in this. Is it possible to meet this vision I see in my head here’s some reference and have the revisionists and other art directors clean up.”

The art style also gets closer and closer to spiderverse

The fact that Max is spending actual money so that fans and modders can get and use the tools needed to make this stuff a reality, and he is seemingly doing for mostly the passion of the fans and love of the game with no returns, just proves to me that Max is without a doubt one of the biggest GOATs and Chads of the fighting game community, and probably just online in general. I'm calling it right now: Modded MvC3/Infinite is going to become 3D MUGEN. Somebody already Modded Sol's moveset into Red She-Hulk so it's only a matter of time before we get full movesets of Guilty Gear, KoF, or even Mortal Kombat characters. Soon there might even be a whole-ass indie project made from the bones of MvC (acknowledging if Capcom will get Ban-Happy legal or not, knock on wood).

This is what MVCI should have looked like in the first place. HOW IS ONE PERSON OUTDOING ENTIRE CAPCOM TEAMS?!!!! THAT IS SOME INSANE LEVEL OF TALENT!!!!! This is probably the best work I have ever seen from anything Capcom related. Just...insane.

I generally never thought the modding Community would touch mvci after they threw Ultron and Monster Hunter into Marvel vs Capcom 3 , this is the best thing I could ask for😭

Well, I’m calling it now. About 5 years from now we’re gonna see Max direct his own fighting game.

Mega Man X's moveset needs changing. I made an entire document detailing the changes back then. It included, (1) Mobile charge (2) More special moves (3) Charged Specials for complete alt versions during Armor mode (4) Nova Strike Lvl 3 is full screen dash to connect into the animation. (5) Others but the first 4 take priority. I am willing to discuss both that plus share that document I had.

I never thought I'd cut on MVCI ever again, but if this gets to a solid state I might just do that.

Hey Max, thanks to you and the team for doing this. Hopefully, it comes out as good as you envision it. One suggestion I'd make is that you guys should think about adding some pixelated digital effects to the hyper combos and maybe even infinity stones. Seeing the comic book aesthetic in the game's visuals is certainly nice. But this is also supposed to be a celebration of video games. So getting some kind of representation for that in the visuals would be dope too. Just my two cents.

FFXIV mods do this kind of syncing on an external server called Mare Synchronos, what it does is uploads your character mods and syncs with players you exchange your code with or are part of a group of players with modded stuff. It downloads the other persons files on a cache when they are close to you (same instance close enough to appear on view). I can envision fighting games using a similar sistem for modded stuff

i can see a modded mvci making it to serious tournaments depending on how much the community supports it

While I love that substantial modding is finally coming to mvci, I do think currently the artstyle is just feeling like city of the wolves Like the "pinstriping" and the blue highlights feels like cotw's main style too much, I personally think that for mvci, artstyle either going like mvc3 but less harsh shadows, OR going super vibrant colors like classic mvc1 and that era, but in 3d

my approach to this will definitely be related to the source material. Marvel is a Comic franchise and Capcom is video game franchise if you can create like marvel character have specific shaders based on comics and capcom characters have their shaders could be really cool

Of all the things that mvci was missing The comic cel shading was at the top of that pile, it both looked stylish & made fast characters visable Thanx to Rin & the rest of the modders for restoring it, & thanx to Max for supporting the scene

As someone who works a lot with Unreal Engine and would love to get into modding MvC, I hope beyond all hope that this project goes far.

I've always had a soft spot for MvCI, even knowing all the issues with it. And I can't lie that all the modding love everyone was giving UMvC3 and none for Infinite...like I get it, but it still made me kinda sad.
