Lidia and Leroy both felt like the type of flagship character designs you debut in a new numbered entry launch, so I was always surprised they were used as DLC in Tekken 7 rather than saved for Tekken 8. That’s how high a quality they are to me. I’m stoked that they are now both in Tekken 8.

Leroy has been nerfed to dirt and is practically unplayable. He is tuned to not be any good in high level tournaments. He has the slowest orbital, all of his lows are obvious and slow, his combo routes are terrible, and he does trash damage.

His combo routes are fine, he gets really good wall combo damage, and one of his slow lows is essentially safe with his parry follow-ups. Dooming about where he is rn when they just highlighted him in the "balance update!" Segment of the trailer you're commenting under too, lmao. So upset, and for what?

@@DragonHeart613 Don't try to make sense of Asian storytelling. There's no shortage of Asian stories where the protagonist kills someone's parent and then the child becomes the MC's pet or harem member (or both). Eddy becoming Jin's pet isn't too surprising when you put that into perspective.

Not an eddy exclusive though but I am happy as well. Harada tweeted out around eddy's reveal that there is going to be free dlc for the Main story that showcases how all the season 1 dlc characters were participating in the main story. They are basically "retconning" the main story in real time to add in extra chapters for how Eddy, Lidia, and whoever the other DLC characters are, were involved in the main story.

I'm so happy Lidia is back, she is my most favorite and most used characters in T7. I just hope she is fun to use in T8 and I also hope her T7 outfit is also available in T8.

Man Eddy gettin' his own side story is one of the strongest redemption arcs we've ever seen after what became of him on T7. Happy for people who main him. It's not often a character is done dirty for whatever reason and makes a epic return. My main from the sister series didn't get this treatment unfortunately. Yet very fortunately that game failed so that's the sugar on the cream.

Still remember her reveal trailer in 7. So badass. And the type of character that could be expanded since she fits in so well. I am glad she is back ❤️🤍

You have no idea how happy I am that Lidia is back for 2 reasons. 1. Love her character design but 2. The style of karate she uses is the one I actually studied during my teenage years so always felt a special connection to her as a result and her being so late in T7’s lifespan meant I didn’t get to enjoy her as much as I wished so now? Bets are off!

No way Lidia is coming back?! She was 1 of my Tekken 7 mains. The only reason I play Reina so much is because she played like Lidia (IMO).

I’m surprised Lydia returned in this as she was DLC but it means anyone can return in the game and is Crazy that it has been 30 Years since the Original Game started and look at it now, it has evolved into something great.

Never got to use Lidia much, so I'm looking forward to her playing even faster now that stances are a more integral part of some characters playstyles! Can't wait to see her this Summer!

Now I definitely have to play Tekken 8! Lidia is my new favorite T7 character, even apart from the fact that she also represents my country. Respect Namco 🙏

@@JV-km9xk I guess but the fun fact is that t7 stages would look bad in t8, that to make a stage look like a new version of a t7 you would probably have to make a new one and then fine tune it to have the same feel as the original which actually is more work, I dont know why people think you can snap your fingers and all assets just increase poly count, change UVs adjust weight, go into photoshop get new higher resolution textures that fit perfectly and new light polishing, as well as good frame rate....

The stage is not even remotely the same, other than being a beach, like nothing about it is similar other than the sand and the water. Beach stage is something most fighting games have had for decades. There are a shitload of fair things to complain about, this is not one of those.

I think Lidia, similar to Luke for Street Fighter, was a T8 character already but was tested in T7. Glad to see they didn't drop her.

You can clearly see they not knowing it was Lidia until her name poped up on the screen. Not knowing her stage at all, "Christie?!".

I can't speak for everyone but by the time she released in Tekken 7, I had already moved on to other games. So I never played with her or saw her get played or anything like that. Hopefully she'll be cool, but now it doesn't bring the hype the way a legacy character would.

There was a leak way back when where they announced the characters were Lidia, Eddy, Fakhumram, and Craig Marduk. So, with Lidia, announced, the two characters yet to be announced are going to be Marduk and Fak.

I’d love to see a Tower Defense Mode in which you pull a lever and you get a 50% chance to defend or get comboed to the wall and then again, if you guess right, you have a 50% chance of surviving an infinite amount of plus frames mix ups

Honestly while it would be cool, and it is very much possible given Noctis was in the last game during his push and ended up working surprisingly well. They give you literally everything you need to make Tifa in the customization mode. Asuka and Reina suit her fighting style perfectly already and look like her.

Great to see Lidia back! She's one of the newer characters I started to like next to Leroy; should've been part of the main roster tbh!

So glad to see Lidia back. Now I can play my favorite archetype, badass tomboy with a lot of stance dancing, without having to struggle with all the Mishima inputs that Reina requires.

Muay Thai is missing. I hipe they will bring Fakhumram back.

My thing with every character is I believe the team says "we are NOT wasting the money we spent on that move list" and picks/makes a character. So expect Negan in some form.

Im not a fan of certain characters being DLC for tekken 8 because those slots should only be for guest and legacy characters. That being said, characters introduced entirely through DLC (lidia, Fahkumram, and Leroy for example) i feel almost HAVE to be added because they only exist as DLC for a older game. Its only fair to keep them alive as DLC in the next game. Eventually they either die off or become staple. Leroy is a proven staple. Time to see if lidia is, and i belive she will be

Kenny getting his Eddy Redemption arc after what they did with him and Lucky Chloe feels so right.

I said if my main didn’t end up being the summer character I’d at least like to have a character that I would at least find tolerable to play with during the summer. Lidia isn’t my main but I’ll definitely be playing with her a lot this summer

I remember seeing a video with someone analyzing Lidia when she was in T7 and describing her as a fighter from a completely different game. She was added so late to T7 that she didn't function the way the other fighters did. It's pretty clear she was basically the Luke of this game, where they were already developing T8, they just added her to 7 as a preview of what was to come. The only problem is that no one really knew why she was added so late, or cared too much about her back then.

I wish you can earn season pass points on single player stuff.

Coping and hoping for Julia in autumn but seems unlikely if Lydia is the summer release
