Not only that, but they managed to do it before Shadaloo. Imagine how fucked it would be if they implied in the next RE that the Street Fighter series is the result of the same types of viruses and mycological contamination that the Umbrella Corporation was investigating in order to develop it for military applications, creating a global network of super-powered martial artists who have been mutated due to contact with contaminated environments and/or unethical experimentation. Honestly, I feel like it makes an upsetting amount of sense when you think about characters like Blanka, Dhalsim, Necro, Twelve, Gil, Nash, Akuma, Bison/Dictator, Oro, Hugo, Abigail, SF6 player avatars etc.

Game modding is making all these April Fool's pranks a reality and I'm here for it

One of the only EGM pranks that I seriously entertained being true after the era of Sheng Long and Ermac, since the screenshots looked so legit (and I'd honestly forgotten that Akuma was in Street Fighter EX, allowing them access to a 3D model to fake the screenshots), so this provides me a nice bit of closure on that front. Bless you, Max.

I remember attempting to find Akuma in RE2 back in the day. Awesome to see this mod make it a reality.

His Jamiroquai teleports are rather satisfying.

Even though Max insisted a hundred times during the run that the Akuma mode was real and the modders only un-glitched the access.... I still feel like what I just saw was a complete fanwork (secret ending and special zombies nonwithstanding). Regardless, that was beautiful!

This is the coolest and funniest thing i've seen in a while. The part at around 18:30 with the multiple mr X's just beating up akuma together is a hilarious sight to see. Also the slide away cracks me up. Love this 10/10

I love how he misread 大 (big) for 天 (heaven) and said "Die? Are we gonna die? That means heaven, bro." Because 大 is written as "dai," which sounds like "die." What a coincidence (for a second I thought he could read kanji)!

I like how the modders able to put Street Fighter Animations like the hadouken shoryuken and tatsumaki senpu kyaku and that ending though 👍🏻👏.

My headcanon: Akuma was sent by Albert Wesker to clean up the entire Racoon City, while somehow Kazuya who got an offer by the BSAA to get the sample for the G Virus mainly just to get him more devil power And these two clash til Tekken 7, while Wesker just eliminated Akuma out of his list and change to Ada Wong ---------------------- , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , . Just for edit for Pocket fighters lore: Turned out it was Hsien Ko who showed him the place for his training and it's the forest near the Spencer Mansion... so that's how Akuma met Wesker

And Max responds by describing the "plot" of Mario with that completely serious tone and delivery lol. Though I think he cracked a bit when he gave that answer during Rebirth lol.

Modders, never stop doing what you're doing. This was so freaking cool. It would have been even cooler if Akuma could do a Raging Demon against Mr. X OR William Berkin.

This is the best moment I've ever seen in my life! It went from being a Capcom joke to bringing Akuma into reality in the world of Resident Evil. These modders are incredible! He's giving them Gohadokens to zombies, and shoryuken them into orbit. All that is left is giving the Raging Demon to Mr X.

It's just too simple to not be recognizable to even a child. Like I don't know a lick of Japanese, and I barely play Street Fighter, but even I am able to instantly tell what the "Akuma symbol" is from a mile away.

The thing about this being "hidden in the game files" was a joke. The EGM article was real. I remember when RE2 was first being promoted, before the redesign, and I might still have a couple of the old GamePro issues. Even all these years later I never heard of this rumor. Gotta give credit to the modders because this was absolutely insane, especially the ending.
