At the risk of sounding dumb (I'm new to this) my maintenance manual says I'm not due for a new filter for quite a while but that I should do an oil change. Should I only be doing the drain and fill or do you recommend I still replace the filter anyway?

Great job on the video. I am torn between the 500 or 1100. Pretty much just going to ride around town and in the country.

500 will definitely do but if you like to cruise over 100 KPH for long rides go with the 1100 also depends on your size.

As a fat middle aged man that just wants to go 30 mph on country roads is the 300 a better option over 500? Idk
I always hear people say you need to start small but that’s completely ridiculous. In my opinion. I started at 1100. It was my very first bike. And it ruined me, Every time I jump on a smaller bike I’m like what is this trash? It seems like a toy. It took me a little while to get used to driving a dirtbike because I’m used to letting off the clutch and the bike starting to drive away and on a 250 dirtbike if I let the clutch out at the same speed, the bike died.

I just bought my girlfriend a 2024 rebel 500. I’m 6’3” 240lbs and just rode it 50 miles back home on the interstate. I was kind of terrified because how easily that bike is blown around. My usual ride is a vtx 1800. But by the time I got home and got off the interstate it wasn’t bad at all.

I learnt to ride mainly on my wife's Rebel 500 and I'm 6'2", and it never felt uncomfortable, even though my friends said it looked small for me. Then I bought my own bike - a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 - and that felt way better. One day my wife and I went for a ride, and afterwards she asked me to ride her bike to get some petrol while she got ready for work!! Holy crap!! Stepping off my bike onto hers, it felt like the Rebel was one of those tiny clown bikes!! 🤣🤣🤣 It felt really uncomfortable. But I think my next bike will be the Rebel DCT 1100, maybe with forward foot rests??
