    Wow! Don’t know if anyone else has asked this, but is it a myth that shouldn’t play an LP more than once a day due to heat distortion? Asking for a friend🤔

    Love the anti-backlash design. Does your first version's yaw work well? (Ie. when all the vanes turn CW or CCW). I had the idea to make something similar in an RC airframe so it would be actually a roll movement and wondering if it would be enough to overcome the wing's resistant. I'm trying to stay away from needing any control surfaces like ailerons for rolling.

    Do your 2 ESCs connect to the flight computer / your 5v circuit via BEC, and do you have the positive terminal of one of the BECs capped or are both fully plugged in? (I'm learning how the electronics on these work)

    I watched this vid back in 2017 when I got into film as a hobby. back then I had no idea what I was watching. Here we are in 2024 and i would love one of these power supplies. I use a much older one. Your vids are incredibly helpful

    Quick question, where did you buy those spring steel landing legs for this project? I have been looking for something similar for a personal project.

    It’s a cool toy. Get rid of the LCD screen. No one who actually films in the field uses the screen at camera level. It will save battery.

    Thank you for this awesome video…Can this cut metal? I’m a bit confused about the low power, (500mw), how is that amplified to cut metal? I’m looking into a diy laser cutter but I’m not sure which power I should get and how that power is increased. If someone could explain I’d be grateful. Thanks

    Hey since theres no contra rotating blades / turbine fans how are you cancelling out the rotational torque that gets generated by the rotation of the blades? Do the control surfaces at the bottom able to rotate independently and generate yaw authority?

  • @fxsrider

    I have no idea how much torque you were able to pull on a crescent wrench but I doubt it was more than 100 Ft. lbs. I'm just making an observation as I used to pull 600 foot lbs. on the inboard flap track fail safe straps on the 747. It was lots of fun!! Anyway... I'm looking at using a couple old propane tanks to hold a vacuum for the forming table I have planned. Got to make some DEVO Energy Domes!!

    I found this video very informative. I worry about people with no electrical/electronics background working on these machines. I don't know why so many people have asked questions. The author of this video like most obviously doesn't have the time to answer everyone's queries about a myriad of fault conditions. This must be one of the most dangerous items to be found in a domestic environment for the unwary diy fixer.

    I have a question about ikarus. Would it be able to lift things? Let's say I am working on a rooftop and I need to bring tools to the top quickly. What's the largest EDF your algo can handle?

  • @tesla500
    @tesla5003 ай бұрын

    If the payload is onboard it's no problem. You could get EDFs about 2-3x as big as this, but there's no real limit to how big you could go with this algorithm, it should scale indefinitely. A conventional quadcopter would be much more efficient and could lift a lot more weight for a given cost however. I tried lifting things with a string, but it's unstable. It's difficult to attach a rope to a point that allows the craft good control authority, it really needs to be attached at the center of gravity which is not practical without a big gimbal.

    if you widen the legs instead of the extra weight balance, you might have better take-off and landing control, mind blowing

    I understand wanting to show everything, but the fan motor running is far louder than you talking. It's also has a painful pitch. Please lower the volume or eliminate it. It felt like a demonstration of the meme about movies doing this with dialogue vs music. It comes across as rude.
