You sir are an absolute genius! Thanks for saving my day.
Thank you Silvia! I appreciate the kind words, and I’m really glad the video helped! 😊
Hello, I've seen people saying it can have a bouncy nib. Have you had any problem with this, or a loose nib?
Personally I haven’t experienced any issues with the nib at all. Maybe it just needed to be tightened or swapped out? The tablet does come with a few extra nibs, just in case.
@@EricVasquezDesign Oh awesome! Thank you very much!
Honestly it seems everything is getting replaced. Cashiers, graphic designers, programmers, drivers, economists… everything. Maybe AI can live for us too.
AI is coming for anyone that works on a PC. Best to work on a field such as photography or any field where AI is not physically present.
Do you know if any free image editors other than Photoshop have a generative fill option?
I don’t know of any free photo editing apps with the generative fill feature. I think Canva might have some AI tools available in the free version though.
@@EricVasquezDesign Great, thanks you!
Hi Eric, I have been watching your video’s I do not have recolor artwork tool. How do I get the tool on my tool bar?
Hi Debbie 👋 to get the recolor artwork panel select your colors and then go to Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork. Hope this helps! 😊
or how do I hire you?
@@debbiejohnson1540 feel free to send me an email at [email protected] for any business inquiries.
So glad you enjoyed Freelance, and Business, and Stuff, Eric! Great picks.
Thanks so much for the comment and for making such a helpful book for creatives! I really appreciate you stopping by to check out the video! 😊 🙏 ⚡️
Thank you so much for a very useful video. Easy to understand. Great work, now you got a new follower. =)
Thanks for checking out the video and for subscribing! I’m glad you found it to be useful!
I just saw a video of someone who was recently made redundant from his design job because of AI.
Ah that is definitely a huge bummer. It’s unfortunate to see things like that happen to people. Some companies also just don’t understand the value of having a good designer or creative team behind them.
@@EricVasquezDesign They probably do but now just as a very temporary measure for when they can replace them.
@@ArtyMartyD I can only speak from my own experience, but from what I have seen there are still a lot of great opportunities out there for designers. Hopefully in the long run companies will realize that AI can’t make revisions and they can’t attend meetings to interface with clients who aren’t creatives themselves.
@@EricVasquezDesign I will hold onto that hope. It is hard not to give into the despair of it all. I'm in a lucky place right now, too many skills only I can do for the price I offer, and with room to grow. But I do fear for graduates
Excellent, thank you very much. 🙂👍👋 One question: in my library I have several color schemes that I extracted from Adobe color, and I would like to apply them to my design but, when I select the design and then ask it to recolor it, it is painted in only one color when I select that color within the scheme of several colors stored in my library (Instead of using all that scheme with the colors that integrate it, to apply it to Design). What I need is to use that color scheme to be applied as a new proposal to the design, how do I apply the various color schemes stored in the library (that were extracted from Adobe color) to the selected design? Thanks!
Thanks for your comment and for the question. While there are a couple of ways to do this, I believe the easiest way would be to open a JPG of your color scheme and place it in the same Illustrator file as your design. From here you can select any of the colors in your existing design, then go to the Select menu and choose Same > Fill Color and it will select everything in your design that is currently filled with that color. From there, you can grab your Eyedropper Tool (I) and sample any of the colors from the JPG of your color scheme. Repeat this for all of the colors that you’d like to change. Pro Tip: To make this easier for yourself, once you’ve selected all of the colors that share the same fill color, press Command/Ctrl+G to group them together. Now you will be able to use your Selection Tool (V) to select any shape from the group and use your Eyedropper Tool (I) to change the color of the entire group at the same time. I hope this will help! 😊
@@EricVasquezDesign Thank you very much for your answer, I will try that process. 😊👍🙏
Amazing, worked like a charm. Thank you!!
My pleasure! I’m glad you found it to be helpful! 😃
TKSS man!
My pleasure! 😊
Hi. Which color profile and color settings I should set on a file to pass it to printing company so that they get that it's pantone?
I think the best thing to do in this situation would be to connect with the printer or vendor you are working with directly. You could let them know you will be providing them with a file that has been converted to Pantone colors and ask if there is a specific color profile they’d like it to be in.
how do we find pantone in photoshop? its completely gone now. like what???
I know! It’s unfortunate that Adobe phased the Pantone books out in all of the apps. The process looks a little bit different in PS but can still be done in a similar way where you will need to load color books from an old version.
-I wake up at 6am -Do my morning routine. Includes coffee. (about 30mins) -Go to the office. I work from home, so my office is in a different room from where I sleep -Go straight into ideation and designing. Because most of the time I think of a project before bed. I like channeling my morning energy into creative output -I start working from 7am - 2pm -Take a break 2pm - 3pm -Start planning for the next day, read and reply emails (“housekeeping”) 3pm - 4pm -Close the day by going for a walk or anything that gets me away from my work station
Thank you for this! Kinda panicked for a second!
Glad you found it helpful! 😊
@@EricVasquezDesign It was imensely helpful! I dont understand why Adobe phased these out without putting out a replacement.
@@valsis I agree, although think the replacement Adobe had in mind was integrating the paid Pantone extension. Even so, $10 a month just to access colors feels like a bit much when we already pay a subscription for the apps themselves.
@@EricVasquezDesign We shouldnt have to pay for something that was already native to the app to begin with. It's the same thing wiht AI Gen... it's locked through a paywall and I find this ridiculous.
@@valsisyeah, I know what you mean. It’s definitely a pain since we got so used to having it all these years right? I was just happy to find a workaround for the colors. With the AI generative fill doesn’t that come built into Photoshop? Or is there another paid AI feature that they want us to pay for?
This worked perfectly!!! Thanks for sharing the video and thanks for the Pantone Color Books Download!
My pleasure! I’m glad that it worked perfectly and that you found the video to be helpful! 😊
thanks!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you super clear
Can you convert RGB/CMYK using the free/basic version?
I haven’t trier this with the free/basic version, but as long as it lets you add your own swatches and color books through the application folder then I believe it will work.
Thank you, you are just lovely.
Thanks so much for the kind words! I hope you enjoyed the video! 😊
I would like more on case studies.
Thank you so much! just in time to help me with a branding project I need to prep.
Thank you for checking out the video and leaving a comment! I’m so glad you found it to be helpful! 😊
Its not Ai its idiot influencers taking out jobs
Illustrator 27.0 is the oldest version of Illustrator I can download from Creative Cloud, and it has only five Pantone color books. How did you get 24 Pantone color books?
To get more of the Pantone Books you have to go back further to CS2 - CS3, which you can still download through Adobe as long as you have a valid license. I believe the link I provided should have all of them.
Fantastic work. I started looking into tablets just recently and I found your video and talking style very helpful
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that. What kind of tablet did you end up going with?
@@EricVasquezDesign didn’t get one, still researching. I need one tablet, mostly for doing some basic graphic design like drawing, flowcharts and charts and all of that stuff. Nothing very heavy like professionals do.
@@amirmir3244 for basic design tasks I do think that the Huion H640P would be a great one to start with. It’s small and easy to transport, weighs under 2lbs, and you can get it for around $35-$40 on Amazon so way cheaper than a lot of other drawing tablets out there.
Hey Eric! Thanks for the video :) A few questions for you: 1. What would you recommend for a junior designer? I'm have 2-3 years of experience now. I was told in college my portfolio should be diverse, showcasing a range of skills across different project types and aesthetics. Your questions at the beginning "what type of work? what industry?" are a little tough for me, since I'm interested in a lot (branding, packaging, book design, UI/UX). I'm not yet niched down. 2. When applying for jobs, I plan to cater the pdf portfolio I give the recruiter to the area of design the job entails. I'd keep my website diverse though, since I have freelance clients on the side. Do you think it's a good idea to have a changing pdf portfolio, and website that stays the same?
Thank you so much! This was extremely helpful and really easy to follow.
Thanks Stephanie! I’m so glad that you enjoyed the video and found it to be helpful and easy to follow! 😊
Thank you so much for this awesome vid! Literally a lifesaver. I forgot about the pantone severance in Adobe and now that it came time to export some cover art for printing, I thought oh no! Glad I came across this!

Thank you very much..soo helpful.🤍
You’re welcome! I’m so glad that you found it to be helpful! 😊
You're a lifesaver, thanks for the library download link!
Glad I could help! 😊
Is this just for mac or does it work the same way on a PC?
I believe it will work on a PC as the extension should be the same since it’s still Adobe Illustrator, but the location of the folders where you need to save the color book file may be different because of the OS.
@@EricVasquezDesign ok thanks
Thanks, this really helped me a lot❤
Just what I needed, will be trying this tonight 👍
Hope you enjoy!
How do I get an older version of illustrator and do that?
You can download older versions of Adobe Illustrator using the main Creative Cloud App. If you just need the Pantone Color Books and want to skip downloading an older version of Illustrator you can grab the library using the link in the description of the video. Hope this helps!
@EricVasquezDesign it worked...thank you so much. Bless you in Jesus name.

Thanks RJ! I appreciate you 👍
The people that were going to pay you, will now just turn to AI instead. Because, why pay when they can save money. We are doomed. Time to leave it and learn new boring stuff, change job.
Thank you for the awesome tip! As a designer/ screen-printer this is a life saver.
My pleasure! I’m glad the video was helpful for you 😊 Also, screen printing is what made me fall in love with graphic design, so I have always had great appreciation for it! Are you doing screen printing on shirts/apparel? Or what kinds of things do you print on most?

which version of Illustrator we can get this tools
These tools are available in the 2024 version of Illustrator.
Such an important conversation to be having right now. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jenny! Yes, definitely an important conversation, and a very hot topic right now. Things seem to be changing week-to-week with AI, but I think it’s helpful for creatives to be able to consider how AI impacts the creative industry both in good and bad ways.
Very insightful diagnosis my man.
Thanks Kyle! 😊⚡️🙌
Very clear & concise. I was trying to recolor background watercolor lines that had many "layers" of color. This really helped. Thanks!
