From Sketch to 3D Text in Adobe Illustrator

In this tutorial you will learn how to turn a flat pencil sketch into colorful 3D text in Adobe Illustrator.
The techniques shown in the video are very easy to learn and they will help you generate more ideas for how you can create custom typography and 3D logos of your own.
You will learn how to use some very useful tools in Illustrator such as the width tool, which can help you add variety and thickness to your lines. We will also be diving into all of the 3D features that are now built into the latest version of Adobe Illustrator so you can experiment with these tools and create custom type with materials, lighting, and depth.

    Is there a way to sperate the overlapping strokes (like in the top of R) so that is clear separation with one stroke over there, like cake icing?

    Thanks for your comment @atrain717100! To create a clear separation between the shapes you would create a separate line (path) that isn’t connected to the rest of the letter with the Pen Tool. This is how I created the top of the ‘th’ that sits on top.
