How to Make Your Graphic Design Portfolio STAND OUT!

Our design portfolios are often how we make a great first impression, and it's usually the first experience someone has of us and our work. It's what entices someone to want to work with us.
That's why no matter what type of role or gig you're applying for, you want to make it super clear in your portfolio that you are the right person for the job.
In this video, I'll show you how you can avoid some common portfolio mistakes by asking three questions. It's helped me package and position myself for the work I want.

Hey Eric! Thanks for the video :) A few questions for you: 1. What would you recommend for a junior designer? I'm have 2-3 years of experience now. I was told in college my portfolio should be diverse, showcasing a range of skills across different project types and aesthetics. Your questions at the beginning "what type of work? what industry?" are a little tough for me, since I'm interested in a lot (branding, packaging, book design, UI/UX). I'm not yet niched down. 2. When applying for jobs, I plan to cater the pdf portfolio I give the recruiter to the area of design the job entails. I'd keep my website diverse though, since I have freelance clients on the side. Do you think it's a good idea to have a changing pdf portfolio, and website that stays the same?
