I run these eibachs on my 15 Tacoma, but went with a ome 884 coil. Very similar length to the eibach spring but 590ish lb/in instead of eibach’s 650 lb/in coil. Worth mentioning that big brake kits will not provide stopping distance improvements if your current braking system isn't overloaded. On a non-overloaded vehicle, stopping distance usually improves most with and increase in tire contact patch . Generally speaking, if you just threw these on to a stock vehicle you likely wouldn't see anywhere near as big of a stopping distance difference improvement. Not all vehicles are equal, but generally that should be the case. +1 the closing comment about brake fade, big brake kits 100% should help there over stock. More thermal mass and usually better venting.

You mentioned these would’ve benefited from a softer spring rate. How do you think using the standalone Eibach shocks and re-using the factory springs would compare vs the complete pro truck Stage 1 kit (with the stiffer Eibach spring) or the Bilstein 5100s (which also reuse the factory spring) in terms of both off road performance and on-road comfort? And are the standalone Eibach shocks the same as the ones used in their 2.0 coil over kit (but without the spring & adjustability) or is the valving different?

Yeah, its not fair to comment on the valving without the corresponding leaf springs. Their comments about it being worse when paired with the leafs are pure speculation. That being said they are simple twin tunes shocks that are probably not designed for high speed use.
@TRUE_GR1T3 күн бұрын
yeah I also find the opposite. TBH my front passenger side one is the only one that seems to perform rough. It seems to rebound too fast when going over bumps and slams. It is the newest of the 3 shocks because it was replaced under warranty because the shop that installed it didn't do something correctly with the top hat and it became loose within the top hat and cammed out the hole. I have the soft ones as well, I think it is a great all around set up but plan on getting something more high end in a couple more years.

If they don't perform well, they are NOT a quality product, they just cost more.
@UnyonRing2 күн бұрын
Sure it can. Performance is dependent on its use case. It could just be it’s not a good use case for the product. The amount of damping you want is a function of spring force and sprung weight. They may have just been tuned for a different use case. That’s kind of the difficulty of going with aftermarket solutions not specifically tuned for your vehicle and the springs your running. If you want to learn more about the subject I would start by looking up the formula for the “damping ratio” (it’s just difficult to type into comments) you want this value to be roughly 1ish if not a little over 1. In this case I suspect they have a damping ratio under 1 since they are getting some spring oscillation from the sounds of it. Or what could be happening if the damping ratio is significantly over 1 the spring might not be fully extending from one bump to another resulting in the bucking. I’m having a hard time telling just based on the video.
