  One thing to know is that there's another species that looks like stinging nettle but isn't. I forgot what it's called, i'm not going to say if it's dangerous or not because I'm not an expert. Do your own research

  I liked the D2 knives, but i did some research, and i wouund up getting a 14C28N steel Bushcraft knife. I like this one because it has all the same advantages of the D2 steel, but its much more rust-resistant. But I maintain it anyway just to be safe.

  A sheet of paper can be set on fire in this way by focusing light on the burnt edge of a hole burned in the sheet. As it burns, follow the burnt edge. And the paper will quickly catch fire. I guess it would work with straw too.

  Many many years ago they would start making a wine/ Alcohol out of stinging nettle when they found out about pregnancy. So they could reduce labor pain. Plus at birth the baby won't get adversely affected by the Alcohol. If you get stung by stinging nettle, you can deactivate the sting by crushing it and putting the juice on the sting

  I have to imagine that gives off quite a smell... not necessarily a bad one, but in all my experience heating and burning pine sap, it tends to give off enough of a smell that even if it is a nice smell, the sheer potency can be unpleasant.
