SOLO Camping in Heavy Rain and Shine with a Hammock - Spring in the Appalachians

I set up camp in a rain storm near a couple streams with a hammock and a couple tarps in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Pennsylvania. I cook some potato soup on my pap's old Coleman 530 pocket camp stove while hunkered down in the shelter. The rain stops overnight, so I made a fire and cooked some breakfast in the morning. I cooked the morel mushrooms I found on my hike in, a pancake, and some coffee. Turned out to be a nice day and a great trip.

I am a lazy westernized princess, I am afraid of even the smallest fly….😂maybe some bush crafting like this will loosen the crutches a little. Thanks for your content brother.

@@glee0425still sounds lovely to me, despite the lack of hunting opportunities 😊 I don’t feel safe going solo: but I so admire those who get out there alone 👍

Hey! I really like this style! Quiet, simple, majestic. Hoping you make more! Never thought of using my axe as a spatula! Loved seein that old ww2 era stove. My grandfather gave my biological dad one of those. He and I used to use it. A little dangerous. Just a word of caution! They line food tin cans with a plastic liner so you don’t taste the can. Just wanted you to know since you were cookin directly in the can. Hey! Sorry I cant direct you to a porn site line the above bot did. 😜 Take care man and we’ll look forward to more. NQU

Glad you enjoyed, and yeah this was my grandfather's stove, I fixed it up a little and finally got it to work.. really shoots out the flames at first but I love it. And I didn't know that about the can liner, thanks for the heads up.. and yeah I get some weird comments on here lol

You are not totally correct. The plastic liner that SOME cans have is simply to prevent the extreme ACID in SOME foods from corroding the can. You must remember that the metal of 'tin' cans has been formulated specifically to store food for LONG periods of time. If elements in the metal were to leach into, say, your baked beans, your tinned pie apples, your tuna or Ideal milk, every quality-control, health and Standards Authority would be on the warpath. Moreover, these tins are BOILED AFTER they are sealed. At HIGH TEMPERATURES. Believe me, they are safe. But I WOULD burn out the plastic liner.

Hey there! Love your videos! Just wondering what folding hand saw you use - i've been looking for a good one but they all seem pretty mid. If you could give a link to it that would be even better! (But a name would do just fine too) :)
