I still have my Blue JL and was thinking about doing a series on the trails up in the Pacific North West. I may record one soon just to see how it goes.

After 3+ years of use, really good! Its starting to fade/turn dark grey and I may just peal it off soon or re-do it. I did a test and my weak power washer will blow it off easy if I get the nozzle close to the surface.

Just some rattlecan primer and matte black spray paint. It took very little time and didnt bother to film it. Results were super nice though.

I used regular spray paint on the panel. Nothing fancy. The panels did last for about a year, but the velcro tape I used started pealing off. I tried more velcro and more and more. One fell on my head while I was on the freeway, so I took them out. I eventually got the Cover King headliner kit (Around $400) and did the entire hard top. I still have the panels and want to put them back up, but I just dont know how to keep them up.

Hello! Did you turtle wax first and then compound? Or Compound, then Turtle wax?

Compound first. Compound is like liquid sandpaper. So if you wax it first, the compound will take it right off. Compound will leave the finish a little dull (due to the grit), but a little polishing and wax will bring the shine back.

What kind of glue you use between the velcro and the roof?

The Velcro strips that I used had glue on it, but I found that in hot weather, the glue would loosen and the panels dropped. I never found a glue that didnt drop. I eventually used the top liner by Coverking.

The back peace is way too big. I did eventually put a Coverking Jeep Topliner and it really helps with both visuals and noise.

Thats an amazing idea! Finding suitable foam was one of the hardest things in this project, but those stiff yoga mats would work great! Not like anyone uses them for Yoga anyways. How did you stick them on?

Sir, have you looked at a Headlight Revolution? They test and report on all sorts light brands. Full replacements include KC Highlights Gravity type (they are not cheap), Oracle, and Morimoto. And others.

Did you have to disconnect the secondary battery on the Jeep to prevent the airbags from going off?

No. That battery only handles small electronics like your Jeeps computer. Air Bags have been around for a very long time, and multiple safety features are in place to keep them from going off when not needed. If the car is not on, it wont go off.

I looked at all the insulated tops and cost, with reviews. Most seem to fall eventually. I bought a one piece sun screen type top for my unlimited. Installed with top on, take the front 2 panels off, then placed some thin white quilting insulation between the sun screen and hard top. It won't fall as there is no glue and no heat gets through to riders. Works great in 100 deg Texas heat.

In the summer its MUCH better. It adds some insulation in that if you touch the ceiling, it wont burn your hands. The noise is not a huge difference because most of the noise is coming through the floor or the back roof. I do plan on noise insulating those two area's.

You can find a local sign shop that will do it, but they typically have a minimum order around 80-100$.

It could, but if you tape a large piece of plastic over the airbag, it truly can kill someone. The dash is engineered to tear itself apart without creating shrapnel, but that plastic cover will just be a projectile. I suggest if you dont want to put in the time, try to cover it with vinyl rather than plastic.

Same model LED bulbs as you suggested came in from Amazon a few days ago. Getting anxious to install, just waiting for a weekend with a break in the rain. @@myblujl7503 Thanks for the heads up, in my case the Hikari bulbs had the exact same configuration and O ring as the halogens. I was able to simply swap them out like for like. Checked the beam cutoff height before and after, ended up exactly the same, I got lucky. These lights are amazing, thanks again!

Almost nothing. The Freedom panels are two layers thick of fiberglass and the back roof is 1 layer thick. About 90% of the noise comes from behind you from the single layer massive roof. Same for heat/cold. Its a drop in the bucket unless you also take care of the back.

I have not done anything with the fog lights. They are not used much and just so insignificant, I wont even bother. You really DONT want a bright fog light since it will just blind you anyways unless its properly aimed down low.

Yes the Action Green color goes so well with the Ocean Blue. We have a Seattle Seahawker Booster Club group down in TX. We have over 600 members, pretty much all want my Jeep as a badass Seahawks Jeep.
