Just got my first JL and my freedom top isn't that color on the inside. Is that a liner that came with your trim and does it lower the cabin noise?

Check out my other videos. I show how I painted and made inserts for my white hardtop interior.

Does it work on the 2 door jl?

Im not sure, but you can try. The hard top on the 2 door is not as big, so I dont think its as bad as a problem.

Since you’re asking, you probably have a 2-door. So, go outside and look. Now, think about what he was saying. This trick is to take the central location of the hardtop, that is acting like a subwoofer, and to dampen it by restricting it’s movement. In the 2-door, there is no central area with a roll bar underneath. The only place you have available (in a 2-door JL) to do this trick as described, is the front, directly where the freedom panels attach. Do NOT shove something under that area as it will push the spot where the two freedom panels and the hardtop attach to one another all out of alignment. This, on a 2-door, will also stress the rear latches on the freedom panels, this may cause leaks, cracks, and possibly even wind noise because of panel mis-alignment. Your only true option for dampening the bass notes in a 2-door is full padding and/or rubber-type sound deadening, attached directly to the hardtop.

I don't have that problem with my 2dr wrangler but I keep my windshield sunshades up between the softtop and roof braces that keeps it from flapping in the wind. Julie in Toronto Ontario
