Can we all agree to call jr "Diddy" lol
The story of it is fine, I didn't even have an issue with Morpheus being replaced since it made since within the timeline of the film. The problem is that the movie is shot badly. The actual picture is gorgeous sure, but nothing feels dangerous. Nothing feels as if it has any consequence. The fight scenes are boring and the actors look bored doing it. The bathroom shoot out is so non chalant that it almost put me to sleep. The train sequence is so badly shot you can't tell what is ever going on. The final chase scene (flying bodies exempted) was over drawn and boring. Neo using his force power thing over and over felt bland. Again, the story is fine, the meta commentary is fine, but the movie just felt extremely sanitized and bland. No one reacts when getting punched, no one gets dirty, hell not one single named character dies. Even the end is bland.
I don't agree with anything you say in the video: 1) The battlefields do not have to be visually attractive, the battle of Wakanda for example is one of the most realistic battles in the entire MCU, this because throughout history, the battlefields are more like that than to others more "creative". 2) At the same time, not all directors have that imagination or creativity so that the story feels unique, and if so, the MCU would feel too disconnected. 3) You criticize the Russo brothers when they directed the best movies in the history of the MCU. And Age of Ultron is, by far, the worst Avengers movie and one of the worst in the cinematic universe.
Can I just say this movie has my favorite ending scene of any Spider-Man movie and maybe even any movie I’ve seen (though ItSV is close behind)
3:15 when was this
Got to keep in mind there’s no Batman in Joker
It seems like all the stuff I love people hate ? This movie was awesome !!
I don't see the evil in Dracula
Honestly, when it comes to the Matrix, the first one is the only groundbreaking film. It touches on many deep themes, from Gnosticism to Anarchy, and came at a time when the collective consciousness needed a rude awakening (which is why it's still so hard hitting tbh). Matrix Resurrections is exactly what it should be, given the times we live in. It's a mirror reflecting back to us the audience (and collective consciousness) the reality we've created since the first film came out. We're unoriginal, tech addicted, apathetic "spiritual zombies". We are the swarm. The Analyst said it best: "Quietly yearning for what you don’t have, while dreading losing what you do. For 99.9% of humanity, this is reality."
For personal reasons, my favorite Bond was Sir Roger Moore. But Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnam are the ones closer to the 007 from the books. For me, the Classy Bond Age ended when Brosnam left the series. And just for the record, Ian Fleming didn’t like Connery as his famous agent.
I agree with parts of your analysis and you make some good points. But (even though that's personal) I don't think Resurrections looks, feels and behaves like a Matrix movie. The problem is not that it's too close and a mere rehash. Instead, it feels like a non-sequitur, a fanfiction that uses the names from the Matrix but forgets what they mean. If it's a movie that criticises legacy sequels by being an example of how not to do it, I think it's brilliant. In my eyes, it's a beautiful Trainwreck.
This one ties with Emperor’s New Groove for best animated movie imo
This is an amazing movie, it’s gonna be hard to match it with a sequel
it's great but i think 1 was better and 3 is likely to be better as well i think lmao. this one was just set-up. it was good but it definitely feels a little incomplete imo lol
Ya'know, the "Gollumesque" attitude of Suko, is likely a homage to Andy Serkis, another Kong actor.
Today’s politics should have nothing to do with a show called Xmen ‘97.
Christopher Lee is the scariest and best dracula
It’s a great movie… Gives me vibes of movies like castaway, Apocalypto and Lost city of Z 🤔
I kind of agree honestly. And its interesting for you you say this as someone who only watched these movies as your first experience. I think what's going on here is there was not a lot of love for these characters in the new adaptation. The way most of the influencers are talking about Dune and the way I see the new movies is at they're trying to deconstruct of the idea of a hero or a "chosen one," and if you're trying to deconstruct or subvert characters you have a hard time getting your audience to identify with or like them. I feel like the audience is supposed to identify with Chani, but her character was changed drastically from who she was in the books precisely so she could fill this role as "the skeptic" we the audience are supposed to identify with.
Dune 1 and 2 is what happens when the people making the movie care and respect the original material.
15:00 Big spoilers! First, I was spoiled on American fiction, and now this. 😭
UNsubscribed as this is too stupid of a take. Rogue One was better than most of the Disney Star Wars, but very empty film overall. Definitely no where NEAR the best SW film.
I’m so mad I missed it in IMAX. I just watched it in my home theater. I’m sure it would have been amazing
I would disagree with how Marvel is not political. Falcon and Winter Soldier was a weak, preachy and patronizing about how “America is racist and not ready for black Captain America”. I don’t know how that’s not taking a specific stance. X-Men 97 is not being direct and straddles the line very well and keeps it all in the pocket of fantastical rather being a direct reference to actual reality.
3:57 That hurt his performance. He played Snape as sad and sympathetic, instead of the seething, infuriating man in his 30s that he's supposed to be.
The cinematography and viking lore was awesome in this movie, but sorry it's not anywhere close to being a masterpiece unless that's all you care about. Are the gods bots or something? Why are they egging on a person who had a misunderstanding, sure let's just give him a magical sword too while we're at it. The CGI looked ridiculous compared to the gritty awesomeness of the real word. Wanted to love the movie but has a lot of issues.
The issue I have with these I have with these minus one fans is that they don’t get it that the director of minus one says before that he loves monsterverse films says that they are masterpieces but everyone else just goes ehhhh I’m not really feeling like it
I fucking, hated this film, like Saltburn, garbage, self indulgent, eccentric, rich white people problems
The movie isn’t even out yet
I love hour perspective and critique to Fox and MCU. Youre absolutely right. As an X Men fan, it's always so hard to watch the MCU
I watched the movie 3 times and to this day i still think that its the worst movie in the whole franchinse, even worse then halloween 3
Minus one is not just the best godzilla Film i have ever seen but the best movie over all that i have ever seen. But the monsterverse is still a blast and i love both versions. But well i love most of the godzilla movies 😅😂 I really like how ur one of the guys who understands that u can enjoy both and dont have to choose one and hate the other
The Fox X-Men movies felt off to me from the very beginning. They did some things right like the casting of Hugh Jakman and Patrick Stewart, and somewhat of Halle Berry. Ian Mckellan was a good Magneto but kind of too old and out of the physical shape of comic book Magneto.
Joker was pretty comical compared to Bane. Ledger dying gave it “purpose”. But it was so unnecessary plot wise for Batman to even give a shit about what joker was running around doing lol.
It's a movie about the illusion of choice. Paul's vision of the future haunted him, to be sure. But each "choice" was unacceptable. Harkonnen victory. After the destruction of Seitch Tabr the only hope lay in the South, and getting that help required accepting his destiny. He never had a real choice however. Accepting the victory of the Baron and the death of everyone he loved isn't a real choice.
Storm could have her own series of finding her power
Naw. Hugh needs to stay as Wolverine nobody should replace him
Batman Returns is my favorite Batman film and in one of my top ten favs of all time. This is an EXCELLENT retrospect. “I don’t know about you Miss Kitty but I feel so much, yummier…..”
I disagree, this faze felt "Hey lets do the directors do what ever they want". And it hasn't worked at all.
The female character totally ruined it ...She was awful...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a huge Indiana Jones fan,,,,But Dial of Destiny was a FU$%ING JOKE.......What sick pathetic disaster ....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know its not realistic but a The Batman tv show would be awesome each episode focuses on a villain like man bat that the aren't good enough for the movie and he could learn small character arcs
The journalist aspect of it was actually my biggest issue. Having Jesse use a film camera to document a fast moving war zone in 2024 just makes zero sense. I understand that’s what she had, and inherited, but how many rolls of film did she go through in the movie? Film is freaking expensive and in a divided war time US, how easily accessible is it? Even using an older DSLR is a better option in this scenario than a film camera. And I’m no war photographer, but on the final assault, I have a hard time imagining the soldiers would be hand holding the photographers all the way until they reach the president. That’d be like Seal Team Six guiding photographers and journalists along as they raid Osama Bin Laden.
You are wrong about Chani, read the books
The Fox X-Men movies failed because they took the property and totally ignored the decades of stories written about them. The first X-Men movie wasn't an X-Men story. Yes it had characters from the X-Men represented in some fashion. But whereas the MCU drew its stories right from the comics with some changes (e.g. Civil War), Fox X-Men made some wild story about Magneto forcing Rogue to take his power of magnetism to power some strange mutation device to make everyone a mutant. And then merrily skipped along to create a half-assed Dark Phoenix adaptation. The banning of comic books on set told us all we needed to know about the quality (or absence thereof) of the movie.
I just love this movie. I'm obsessed.
Are we not gonna talk abt how he said irohs name wrong?
